Photos of trash and debris in and along the banks of the Historic Bread and Cheese Creek. Mark your calendars for the Spring Bread and Cheese Creek Cleanup on April 11, 2015 from 8 am - 2 pm in conjunction with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay's Annual Project Clean Stream! We will be targeting the area of the stream from the Berkshire Community to North Point Road! Volunteers of all ages and abilities are needed! Help us remove the trash before it flows into Back River, the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean! Every piece of trash removed is a small victory to be celebrated!
We run our cleanups as a family event with plenty of ways for volunteers to participate. We welcome every type of person of every ability level to contribute and assist with the cleanup. Though it is true we will need people to dig out shopping carts and haul trash to the dumpsters, we need people to run water, food, tools, and trash bags (both empty and full) to individuals in the creek. People to sort recyclables from the debris removed. People will be needed to help at registration, setup food and snacks as well as many other less strenuous activities. We are also authorized to sign-off on Community Service and Service Learning Hours for students. The more people we have, the easier the work will be for everyone. We will provide lunch and snacks as well as gloves. A limited number of tools are available for sign-out, but suggest bringing your own if you have them.
Registration is at 2048 Plainfield Road, Dundalk, MD 21222 and will open at 7:00 am and we will enter the stream at 8:00 am after a brief orientation!

My mom's KB finally came yesterday! I spent forever lat night cleaning her up. Here's a few before photos. She was dirty and my mom...was little less than pleased. My KB was far less dirty, so mom was a little worried. After a bath, she loves her, thank goodness!
This is the first minute of a horrible video that will make you mad as hell. It is about a shelter killing and abusing dogs. The link for the full video is below. The quality is terrible but I could not figure out another way to post it. I save this kind of shot for when we lose one of our dogs but in this dogs have been killed by city employees charged with their care. You can look up most of what is said in this video on line. If people can post it on Facebook or where ever they can we apprecaite it. The end of the video is a call for people to call the mayor's office of this city. Which I have done. America's polticians do nothing for us unless we overwhelm them or it suits them. This is a time we need to do this. Anything you can do to spread is appreciated. Please know is this horrible.
Bembix rostrata ('harkwesp' in Dutch) isn't very common. They stock their nests with large flies (including the Tabanidae that were hunting me that day).
No reindeer so In the UK, Santa's helper uses the Royal Mail delivery system to get the gifts there on time.

The grey seal (Halichoerus grypus, meaning "hooked-nosed sea pig") is found on both shores of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is a large seal of the family Phocidae or "true seals". It is the only species classified in the genus Halichoerus. Its name is spelled gray seal in the US; it is also known as Atlantic seal and the horsehead seal.
