I'm currently deciding on my concept and theme for my Graduate and final collection for uni, and I'm completely torn! I have two initial ideas but thought I'd get some of your opinions on which would be the most interesting, as I have to work on this for the next year and create a full collection based on it. So all help would really be appreciated :)

1. Tomorrows Tribe: I would look into Africa, tribes and their culture. Studying how they use body art, painting of the body and scarification, to inspire my shapes, construction, embellishments and patterns. I'm still a little confused as to what I would look at to influence garment shapes and silhouette. Also gathering primary research, as I couldn't take a trip to the country so anyone know of any exhibitions/galleries in London that may have this stuff?

- I feel like this option would be a lot more diverse and different in terms of print and hand painting fabrics, manipulating fabrics and embellishment.

- Colour pallet mono with accents of warm browns and maybe hints of colour.

2. Walking the line: How art inspires fashion, using art work, shape, line, form and texture to inspire my garment shapes, prints and embellishment. I would be looking more at works that use shape, quite like Kandinsky, pop art or Pointillism.

- Shape and blocks of colour would play a huge part in this collection, and I thought of using hand painted prints onto fabrics to relate it to wearable art. making it more tactile and textured.

- Colour pallet would be muted, soft pastel like colours.

I'm so torn and don't know what to pick! I like both but I'm leaning more towards the Tribe theme but my lectures have suggested not to as I don;t have any way of getting primary research and visuals. Although I know there are some places in London but not enough. So have suggested to go with the Art theme, as it is a lot more accessible especially with the V&A but are also worried I might not get my hand on the right research for it. So any suggestions on new themes or how I could improve these and what I could do or loo at would help! A second opinion would be great!! :)

This is for the Eurobricks Winter Village contest and I'll be taking this photo down after. Thanks!

Now I'll say straight off that the Asda staff were indeed 'happy to help' so well done to them. Plus the company has successfully managed a run of 70+ home deliveries without mishap which is some achievement in modern Britain. Not last night though!

As time ticked by for our 20.00-22.00 slot we began to speculate if they would pass their previous 22.04 record for a latest ever arrival. So it was a bit of a surprise when the phone never rang because the driver was lost and needed 'talking in' to the delivery address. In fact we were worried that he / she had been in an accident, perhaps hitting a deer or ending up in a ditch.....not uncommon events in the dark of a rural Dorset night.

I picked up the trail this morning. Driving down to the local store seemed the easiest way of sorting things out. Yes, the lady behind the customer service desk was 'happy to help'. She phoned down to her colleague in the Home Delivery / Click and Collect department who rummaged around for a couple of minutes and discovered the missing order still in the freezer / chiller / storage compartments of a delivery van. "Would I like to collect it from the Click and Collect?" "Yes I would"

Moving the car to the C&C point, the 'happy to help' supervisor was waiting. She had no idea what had happened. However, it wasn't a road accident as she said "the first thing I usually hear about when I arrive for work is if there has been an accident the night before. I've heard nothing" She did reveal that the driver, who I won't name, was relatively new and that she would find out later from him what happened. He would be given further "training" especially with regard to contacting customers directly by phone if there was a problem.

Of course the service / delivery charge of a £1 was refunded. Unpacking back at base, a further twist in the tale revealed that we had all the ordered products but with several bonus items - a large bag of Mc Cain's French Fries, 6 medium free-range eggs and Cornish Clotted Cream Ice Cream. No doubt some other customer(s) will have been contacting the 'happy to help' team.

Everything was situated by 0900!

This is one of my go-to workout songs that really helps push me to my limits and gets a lot out. I think there’s a lot of truth in the last set of lyrics… life’s not always going to be a smooth and easy road, and I think I’ve learned so much more from when I got burned than when I had it easy…

Any help in identification would be appreciated. My wife noted these, beside the road. We stopped, and I took a few photos. The bush/shrub was about 3 m/yds tall. The fruit was quite small, smaller than a pea. There were lots of them. Technically, the fruit is a pome. (So are apple fruits.)

Thanks for looking, and for identification help.

See below: These Days in French Life suggests that this is firethorn, Pyracantha. The description in the Wikipedia article seems to match.

I checked the Wikipedia, and here's what it has to say about eating these berries (or, rather, pomes). "Pyracantha berries are not poisonous as commonly thought; although they are very bitter, they are edible when cooked and are sometimes made into jelly."

I was grouting last night and looked up and Annie (with her new short do) was standing in the doorway with this green spatula (which I commandeered as the perfect tool to remove thin-set or grout from little crevices). This is the FIRST thing (other than twist-ties, for which she's queer) Annie has EVER bothered. She protected it all night -- never chewed it, just carried it -- and picked it up again this morning.

I interpreted Annie's behavior as her missing her mommy and it (together with a pep talk from my mother) prompted an epiphany. From now on, this overwhelmingly large remodeling project will NOT consume ALL my leisure time nor wear my body to the bone. I'm going to make Easter cookies, birthday cookies for my niece, start making gumpaste flowers -- I want to play, too!! -- and make time for my friends and family. If it takes a year to get all the work done, then so be it! I will just have to learn to cope with the chaos, which will certainly be easier than working myself to a frazzle!

I need your help, the other day I went to the woods to take some photos but ended up loosing my head. If any of you happen to find it, please let me know.

Right now, it's a bit crazy here.

The scooter & sidecar are still separated

so, the scooter was taken on a short run.

By short, a really short run as the brakes

have all seized up tighter than a county

jail house in the middle of a lockdown.

But, along with Mr Monkey we're

still plugging along inch by inch.

"....hello?...somebody?....help me, please!...."

Let's see here...old out-of-the-way warehouse, a night's worth of decor...and a badass costume...let's do this..."

"...huh? Wait, you?!--"

"WELL WELL WELL, what have we here?!

Nightclaw, huh?

OH HO, I'm really scared!

So you're the one everybody's talkin' about, huh? HahahaHAAAA!!!

Ya jokin', YA JOKIN'!

I can't believe my eyes!

You're jokin' me, you gotta be!

This can't be the right gal!

She's scrawny, she's scared!

I don't know which is worse!

I might just bust a gut now,

If I don't die laughing first...

When the big Bloodyman says

There's a'trouble close at hand,

You'd better pay attention, Hon

'Cause I'm the BloodyMan!

And if you're not shocked

Then damn you're pretty wrong!

'Cause this may be the last time

you hear the bloody song!

Woah!

(woah...)

Woah-ho!

(wow!)

WOOOOAH!!

(whoo ho!)

I'M THE BIG BAD BLOODFALL!!!"

"Alright, Alright, you're right, I'm wrong,

I've had enough of this!

Lemme go, I've got kids,

Please stop singing this song!"

"Ya jokin', YA JOKIN'

I can't believe my ears!

Would someone shut this gal up,

I'm drownin' in my tears

It's funny, I'm laughing!

You're really too much, hon!

And now, with your permission,

I'm going to do my stuff...."

"W-what are you gonna do?"

"I'm gonna do the best I can!...."

"WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAH!

Sounds of the shrieks is music to meeee!

'cause I'm the big bad Bloodyman, although I don't play clean!

I gotta say, it's much more fun, when they beg for their lives!

They grovel and weep, but in the end,

They're all walking dead!"

"Release me please, I've had enough! I can't take anymore of this!!!"

"Oh man, you're something!

You got me in a spin!

You really aren't comprehending,

The position that you're in!

It's over! you're done!

Not a goddamned chance!

'Cause I'm The Bloodyman,

And you are going nowhere...AAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!

help us with photoshoot:)

When I was still in school, a week wouldn't be complete if I don't get to visit this church.

We even used to fit 6 people in a motorcycle, every Sunday, just to hear mass at this church.

I remember how Fr. Oniot used to commend me and my sister as we always sing our lungs out with every song of praise.

But last Tuesday, a massive earthquake hit the heart of Bohol.

Even the world-famous Chocolate Hills took a hit.

And as you can see, our church, among many others got severely damaged.

Others, even to the point beyond repair.

Aside from that, roads, bridges and homes have fallen.

And lives have also been claimed.

As of writing, there are still numerous aftershocks.

Families have been displaced, settling to stay at open fields, with tents as their temporary shelter.

Suffering and grief.

I have never seen my home province shaken this much.

But as Boholanos and Filipinos, we remain resilient.

We remain attentive to the needs of others.

Many volunteers have been busy since Tuesday to help our brothers and sisters.

Kind hearts have shown that even though they are far away from Bohol, they can do their share to help.

If you too would like to help, please add me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/emwing.montejo) or send me a message here.

Even a little goes a long way.
