Chimpanzees have 99% of their DNA in common with human DNA - but we still kill them.
If it goes on like this, chimpanzees will be exterminated very soon.
People say there are only 200 000 left.
Remember: They even laugh just like us!

I'm wondering if anyone can offer some advice for successfully using (or NOT using) a polarizing filter under mid-day sun. Is this due to wide angle? With the sun over my right shoulder, can it be done??
You can see in this photo that the sky is horribly gradated and is WAY underexposed. If I overexpose, the sky is STILL gradated, and the water is blown out. I want to get the rich color of the polarized water, but the sky looks terrible!
This is one of the photos I took from a recent hike through the dunes of the Cape Cod National Seashore. It was a very bright day under mid-day sun.

To alleviate the problems encountered with a tired and ageing fleet, GM Buses South hired twenty Volvo B6's with Alexander Dash bodywork from Stagecoach. This raised quite a few eyebrows within the bus industry as it was the worlds worst kept secret that Stagecoach had wished to purchase the concern when first put up for sale, with them even taking a full page advert out in the Manchester Evening News to try and convince staff that they would be a better option than buying the company themselves.
In the end an employee buyout won the day and Stagecoach began operating in competition with GMS on the infamous 192 service. When these B6's arrived rumours were rife that the fledgling company had sold out to the 'Big Boys'. To be honest they didn't help themselves by just painting the stripes out in orange and adding a grey skirt, I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out where they had come from!
Just in case anyone has been living on another planet for the past twenty years, Stagecoach did eventually buy GM Buses South from it's employees and it has been the jewel in their crown ever since.

I'm wondering if this is just a prototype fashion or was it manufactured? If anyone knows the name or a reference, that would be awesome!
This box can also be found with the "Ski Fun" serie logo on it, so I thought it was one of the Ski Fun fashions, but it's not.
I simply love it, want it, need it :o)

BTW, Snowball is also (somewhere) on my wishlist amongst many other Barbie pets lol.
As you may have heard, Japan was destroyed by an 8.9 earthquake and tsunami.
I almost spent the whole day watching the news and checking the tweets on Twitter. I couldn't barely work because of this disaster. I wasn't gonna sit there and do nothing, so I decided do whatever I can, to help the situation in Japan.
Inspired by the movement created by James White and others like Hydro74 and PJ Tierney. I decided to make this print entitled: Wake from Death and Return To Life. It's a japanese expression "kishi kaisei" and it means "To come out of a desperate situation and make a complete return in one sudden burst." It's to honour the courage of the japanese people after such a montruous tragedy.
I already sent this 12 x18 in poster to my printer and this will be included into a set of two (2) posters for sale on my online store. I'll include also my Retro Montreal Poster as a gift for your sale.
I'll also put down the prices of what's left from the Montreal Meets Store and ALL the sales will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross.
As a designer, it's the least I can do to help those you can't do anything right now and this whole disaster makes you feel very fortunate for what you have in your life. I hope my gesture will inspire you to do the same! Join me.
Thank you and let's help Japan! Peace!
Help wanted, a number of searches have been made, but no information on this product has been found. Ballantine and Co. from Greensboro, NC. Would enjoy any information when produced, what it was, etc. Found this nifty little antique at the Stancil Oil Co. Company Store.

Helped by some encouragement from another Flickr member -thank you once more Martin- , I redesigned the small capstan at the front. It now stands on the deck and is a bit lower.
I also heightened that deck a bit by one extra layer of tan bricks (there was a reason, but I have forgotten why I needed it higher).
Also in this picture; my small callibre swivel guns... Stud-shooters with a round 1x1 brick in stead of a stud.
If closed stud 1x1 round bricks are used, it can even shoot those bricks.

We had a great session making some natural light images in my studio, courtesy of a set of double doors to the outside.
okay flickr friends. i have some questions i hope you can help to answer.
first of all, i found this camera yesterday. you may know i was seriously considering a wide angle lens for my trip to ireland but prices are steep. then i stumbled upon this little guy and figured:
a) MUCH cheaper than a wide angle lens
b) probably much lighter too (weight WILL be an issue since i'm flying)
c) no batteries needed
d) i love film
so i really think i'm going to get one before i hop across the pond. i've told evin i want it but if he decides not to get it then i'll buy it myself. so, that's point 1.
point 2 is the film issue. i also figured i'd like some fancy film i can't buy at walmart for christmas too. i was just looking around the lomography site and the urban outfitters one and found this. i've never shot lomo film before (and am not really clear on what "color negative" means) but figured it might be fun. any suggestions on whether i should use this special film in the camera mentioned above or what? i'm not sure how lomo film works in non-lomo cameras. suggestions on this or any other film recommendations?
SO.
other than that (if you're still reading) i'm going to list all the photography stuff i want for christmas, both for input and for my reference. hopefully you'll suggest things i've left out :)
1. 35mm prime lens
2. reversing ring
3. polarizing filter
4. other filters
5. wide angle camera
6. new/interesting film
7. wireless remote and/or cable release
8. ?
thanks in advance :)
ps this is another film shot, unedited, from the trip to the cascades a month and a half-ish ago.
