Working on the SUBSA experiment. It stands for "Solidification Using a Baffle in Sealed Ampoules" which doesn't help much to understand what is going on admittedly. We were processing samples of metal alloys for researchers to observe how they are cast. Metallurgy is a hot subject for space research (not only because of the casting temperatures #dadjoke) because how metals form is complicated, very precise, and as metals are used everywhere on Earth improving them could have enormous benefits. As metals form, they grow crystals that resemble Christmas trees, and these crystals influence the strength of the metal. On Earth gravity influences how these crystals grow, so observing the process in space helps to understand the process, making it easier for researchers to create mathematical models. ESA has a facility called the Electromagnetic levitator in the Materials Science Laboratory to conduct research in this same domain. After the bronze age and iron age this type of research could lead to another metal age... 😎 An observant viewer will notice that I am wearing different t-shirts – no I didn't spill any (they are in sealed ampoules remember!) but the experiment runs over many days, actually the Materials Science Laboratory was running similar metal batches in Columbus too!

**This is my sister's work, and it was stolen. Please read this post from her, and if you can help, I'd appreciate it!**

About a week ago a painting of mine was stolen from Joyengine, the gallery I've had it hanging at for the last year or so. I just found out because I've been overseas for a week, so I am only now getting to post this and hope that you all, if you could, will repost this for me. This piece has hundreds of hours of my life chronicled into it. It has never been marked for sale, means more to me than any chunk of money ever could, and has always been intended to be given to the person I originally created it for and about. I'm not sure that any person who could bring themselves to steal someone's work like this could ever understand that, but perhaps they could think about it for a few seconds and have a change of heart.
Listen - I don't care who you are, I don't care why you think you deserve my painting more than I do, and I don't care what your intentions were with stealing it. I just want it back. Stealing somebody's artwork is so audaciously disrespectful, I can't even figure out who would do something like that.
If you by chance see this hanging somewhere or you were by chance somehow involved in this, please do the right thing and return it. Wrap it in plastic and leave it at Joyengine's front door. Mail it to them. Do it completely anonymously, I don't care. Just return it. It means more to me than it does to whoever took it. And if you could, please repost this. Perhaps somehow in this crazy web of millions of myspacers this could fall under the right eyes.
Joyengine's address is 2037 13th Street Boulder, CO 80302. Their phone number is 303-449-1967. Please contact them (or myself) if you know anything about this.
Many thanks,

Jasper doesn't get in my craft room too often so he was eager to be my sweet helper recently when he crept in.
This is a video to help with using the convertor for the WowMeh to work with Tango and Phat Azz appliers. You need the Conversion on the wall which you need to join the group (it's free) for 1L and it refunds your money back. And the Dev kit on the floor. Hope this helps. LM located below. ♥

Spring cannot come fast enough, we got out today and worked our way through wind, sun and clouds to capture this fun shot. She is wearing red obviously because she is a Canadian Pacific fan!
Taken at SCRR in Wisconsin with a Model Mayhem model.
Enjoy.
Over the years, Burlington Northern has used quite a few different locomotive models to help trains over Nebraska's Crawford Hill. Even LMX B39-8s were tested up here for a short period. Back in May 1995, BN was using relatively new SD70MAC pairs to help the coal trains over the top. Here a loaded train heads uphill with a pair, while another set glides down the hill back to Crawford.
A set of Altoona-based helpers are a little East of their normal stomping grounds as they help Amtrak's Pennsylvanian on a hazy July 7, 1990.
The SD40/SD45-2 combo are getting back up to track speed after stopping at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and are taking Amtrak 42 to Harrisburg. This is now a tree tunnel as years of growth have obscured this once wide-open view.
How did I ever get myself into such a predicament? I was happily flying over the Chisana River in Alaska, when I inadvertently grabbed onto a passing rod like thing, and found myself being pulled along at a much higher rate of speed than I can achieve on my own. Soon I found I could no longer hang on, and made the decision to just let go. Now you will find me in a pathetic heap, along the river bank.

The other side of ANZAC Day weather. This morning was crystal clear and stunning (see my last photo) and this afternoon we have had a massive storm come over. This shot is a little crooked and I caught a railing in the foreground but my trusty D90 and I were huddled under an umbrella in torrential rain, thunder and lightning (which I was trying to capture!) I had a couple of cracks but then quickly got out of Dodge.
Ok, so recently I've been swapping ENB's like crazy. Things went pretty bad with Bleak cause suddenly whenever my char is outdoor..my fps drops to 0~2 -.-. And I picked "performance" preset ;__;. Why?

So I bought this old Kodak lens for $30USD because I want the shutter for a pinhole board. Shutter works great (at least in B and T modes which is all I care about). But I don't see that the front and rear lens elements just screw off the shutter like my 4x5 lenses. Anyone know before I go at this thing with vice grips?

Something needs to be done about Abby. I think she's going to need a new face-up. This one is simply too... standard, too... pale. She definitely needs a bit of colour! Suggestions (also for face-up artists in Europe) very, very welcome!
Elsa is now fully deboxed. With the help of her skirt and cape, she can free stand, although she a bit unstable this way. She is posed standing, supported by her included doll stand, except for the last few photos in this series, where I have her free standing to show off her amazing shoes. All photos were taken with the built-in camera flash.
Elsa is very elegant and powerful looking in her Snow Queen gown. It consists of a light blue green satin full length dress, and a oversized blue green sheer organza cape, which is permanently sewn to the top of the dress. The dress has rectangular clear crystals covering the bodice, and round clear gems scattered throughout her floor length skirt, iwth a long slit down the front right side. The back of the dress ends in a long circular tail. The dress is fully lined with dark blue satin. The full length sleeves are sheer blue organza decorated with blue jewels, as is the collar. The cape is truly spectacular. It can wrap around the front to hide the skirt, or be extended to the sides and the back. It is circular, and trails a considerable distance behind her. It is double layered sheer blue green organza, with a pearly sheen, and is quite flexible, unlike the the organza cape of the Classic Elsa, which is stiffened by all the glitter glued to the cape. However, it is not as sheer as the Classic Elsa's cape, as it is two layered, as opposed to the single layer organza capes of Classic Elsa, and also Singing Elsa. The cape is covered in embroidered ice and snowflake patterns, with clear round crystals placed as part of the patterns. There is no glitter used anywhere on Elsa's outfit, unlike the Classic and Singing Elsa dolls.
Elsa has unique shoes. They are iridescent blue high heeled shoes with a snowflake design in the front and back. They have a metallic look to them, even though they are plastic. She also bucks the trend of fully articulated legs in the Limited Edition dolls, by having fixed angled feet. She looks much more elegant with fixed feet in the high heels.
Elsa is a very accurate depiction of the movie character. She has a very striking angular face with pronounced cheekbones, and large bright blue eyes that are glancing to her righ. She has an extremely pale complexion with a purplish tint, and a pearly iridescent sheen to her skin, which is similar to that of the organza gown. She has an elfin look to her face, although her ears are normally sized and shaped, and considerably smaller than Anna's. She has a few freckles across her cheeks, and a solitary freckle on her forehead. She has long gently curving rooted eyelashes, elaborate eyeshadow above her eyes, small thin eyelashes below her eyes (and none above). She has dark heavily applied rouge on her cheeks right below her eyes. This gives her a darker, more serious look than the other Elsa dolls, and very different than Anna's cheerful, carefree look. She has thin blood red lips, in a slight smile. Her body has the same articulation as Anna's, except for the lack of ankle joints, and of course her entire body has the same pearly pale blue skin as her face. She has long light blonde hair that is fashioned into a long braided pony tail, and long flat curves over her head. There is a single side curl over her left forehead, and short sideburns. There are three snowflake shaped crystal hair ornaments in her hair.
Elsa is a truly beautiful and unique doll, and represents the Snow Queen character very well, with a confident, dark look, otherworldly features, and a spectacular gown.
First look at the Harrods special edition of the Disney Store's Limited Edition Anna and Elsa Doll Set. I purchased it through a reseller, as it was only sold at the Harrods London store. It was released on November 1, 2013, in an edition of 100. The retail cost is more than four times that of the separately sold LE Anna and Elsa dolls (which will be released worldwide on November 20, 2013, in an edition size of 2500). My set is #39 of 100, and I received it on November 11, 2013.
They are 17'' fully articulated dolls, with doll stands and certificated of authenticity. Anna is in her coronation gown, Elsa is in her Snow Queen gown. As might be expected, the dolls are considerably different in details than the ''regular'' limited edition dolls. In particular there is considerably more crystals on the outfits, and embroidered snowflakes completely cover the outer gown (cape) of Elsa. Also, Elsa's skin has a pearly shiny surface, very similar to the skin of LE Ursula, although it has a much paler purplish color.

Not sure who's more ruffly - the duster or Henry!
120 Pictures in 2020 - #93. Ruffles/Ruffled
100x in 2020 - #46
Aside: No - there's no secret cookies hiding behind the duster (not that I'm above doing that - see commentary on Toby's version)
I pointed down, Henry looked down.
Gotta love working with a "professional".

It was fascinating to watch over the side of the cruise ship as this boat drops off a local to Numea to help the cruise ship thru the narrow passage of water deep enough so not to disturb any of the coral surrounding the islands that we visited. My husband said it was quite amazing seeing the colors and sights under the water when snorkling.
We went to a captains talk one afternoon whilst cruising. He was thoroughly entertaining and by gee he told us some astonishing facts on just how things operate within the ship.
Sp recently I started working on Eren from AoT. His hair is pretty "different" from lego hair pieces, so I decided to sculpt it and this is the outcome. Pretty horrific, I know, this is the third time I've used Sculpy, the first being armor, and it turned out pretty well(On the right) just the ab region being region uneven. My second time was on the left, a helmet that shrunk(Meant for Red Hood). Then shattering into pieces after taking it off a figure. The reason I believe is because I boiled instead of baking(as it is easier) and this is the technique FlamingBrickFilms' uses, and does not work for me. How do you guys get your Sculpy dried? And if you bake it, how long and how hot? Thanks, if I tagged you I thought you could help. (Can someone add FlamingBrickFilms?) :)
