Shredding through the trees at @sunpeaksresort There is something truly creative about choosing your own path through the trees searching for untouched powder. Photo of me by: @mariawendellstewart @sunpeaksresort @sunpeaks360 #explorebc via 500px ift.tt/2DvdRrE

This incredible sunset light and haze in the air created a surreal effect of glowing and blurred light. I was sitting somewhere in the alpines enjoying the mountain view with endless Tantalus Range on the horizon.

Even though, the sky was almost entirely clear, the sun rays of the slowly setting dusk were able to highlight the area through the moist vapour. It brought an interesting visual stimuli.

The view from the See Ya Later Ranch winery is quite picturesque, despite the smoky air that greeted us once again this morning. Shot my iPhone.

A very full Tod Creek in Sooke Potholes Prov Park.

After lots of rain the Sooke river is full.

Shot taken at Deas Island Regional Park In Ladner, British Columbia, from the shoreline of Deas Island Slough at the Delta Deas Rowing Club house. I had stopped for a couple of eagles, but rather liked this as well.

Early riser catches the cool clouds

We're finally getting some relief from all the smoky air. It was pleasant out there tonight.

On top of the world admiring the fog forming over the longest river in British Columbia as twists through the Fraser Canyon and past the town of Hope below me. The Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) crosses the Fraser River here where it meets up with the east end of Lougheed Highway (Hwy 7) then continues north, past Lake of the Woods and through the canyon to Yale and beyond. The Canadian Pacific Railway also follows this historic river route. Captured at blue hour, high on a mountain just outside of Hope, British Columbia, Canada ~ October 7, 2020 💙

"The Fraser River is the longest river in British Columbia, stretching 1,375 km. It begins on the western side of the Rocky Mountains at Mount Robson Provincial Park, and ends in the Strait of Georgia at Vancouver. Named for explorer Simon Fraser, the river was a transportation route and source of food for the Indigenous people of the region long before Fraser travelled its waters. In 1858, gold was discovered on sandbars south of Yale, setting off the Fraser River Gold Rush" ~ TheCanadianEncylopedia.ca

Those squiggly lines you see on the mountain tops are BC Hydro's 500-kilovolt power transmission lines (5L81 & 5L82) that come from the Nicola Substation (east of Merritt) bringing power to more than 3.2 million people on the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. This hydroelectricity is generated from dams hundreds of kilometers away on the Peace and Columbia rivers in British Columbia's interior.

If you look closely, there is a plane in the sky...

We went on a Bear safari yesterday! We saw 5 bears! they are just coming out of hibernation and eating the new grass shoots growing in the alpine. Three weeks ago there was still 2 feet of snow there. Lisa and I go to this spot every year, we love seeing the bears so close and to see them grow up. A lot of them return to the same patch of grass year after year in the spring and we recognize them.

Three Ships of Trial Island.

Making a busy shipping lane.

A pretty lake near the local, world-famous observatory. You might recognize it from day 218.

Today was foggy and snowy. During the late afternoon I was quite busy with preparing for our imminent move to a new house, so I had to head out quite late with my camera. I figured a moody shot would be my best option.

I find driving to be a good source of inspiration for thoughts on life.

A couple of boats at sunset. And if you look closely, a plane as well.

The Okanagan Lake beach in Penticton had remarkable colors this evening.
