Just back from her first swim of the day with the temperature reaching 30 again, Vicky takes a breather. By the early afternoon the beach was getting more crowded so we made our way down the sea front towards Harwich and visited the Napoleonic Fort.

Lothian Buses brand new Airlink vehicles came into public service on the 01st July 2015, unfortunately I was working from 1100 until 2200 so did not get many photos but here is some before I headed down to the station to start work.

Morning after the Heatwave Broke

We have been having record temperatures for many weeks now and then the heatwave broke as the storms arrived.

The wind was so strong it made my eyes stream and it whipped up the white horses on the Solent waters.

Kipling wrote about the White Horses of the Sea in 1897

"Girth-deep in hissing water

Our furious vanguard strains --

Through mist of mighty tramplings

Roll up the fore-blown manes --

A hundred leagues to leeward,

Ere yet the deep is stirred,

The groaning rollers carry

The coming of the herd!"

With so many days this summer being 30+, I can see why the birds come to the bathes to cool off. I have 3 of them filled for them. I will admit I turn the hose on myself while I'm watering the garden somedays.

Usefulness of an handkerchief

2020 is proving to be Annus horribilis in many different ways. As if the first pandemic in our lifetime and trapped in shelter wasn't enough, we are now dealing with 90F-106F local heatwaves. Today we have multiple fires around us with mandatory evacuation in place in Santa Cruz mountains and San Mateo. The Air Quality in Palo Alto happens to be one of the worst in the Bay Area tonight at around 300, with the windows shut and most homes without aircon.

Just to spice things up a little, up state in Mendocino County, one of the many fault lines decided it's the day to shake and that resulted in:

5:55 p.m.4.0 magnitude, 4.6 miles in depth

6:43 p.m.3.6 magnitude, 4.1 miles in depth

6:59 p.m.3.8 magnitude, 3.4 miles in depth

7 p.m.2.8 magnitude, 3.5 miles in depth

7:15 p.m.2.7 magnitude, 4.1 miles in depth

I know its been a long since I've posted anything, I've been really busy with school but finally here is Heatwave. His coat and collar are hand sculpted and he is completely hand painted as well. His gun is a BrickWarriors Head Hunter that I have hand painted and sculpted on to. As of now, I don't have finished or WIP Rouges figures but Golden Glider is up next. Ra's al Ghul and another Liberator should be up soon.

Rats, I've just spotted a huge mistake. Meh.... nevermind.

It is so hot at the moment! I love this heatwave!

I think the heatwave is coming to an end.

The temperature is dropping, the wind is rising and it feels like a storm is on its way.

“The evidence is clear! Climate change is real and happening now! We cannot wait for someone to invent a miraculous solution. We must do what we can today with what we know now to limit our carbon emissions. Otherwise our children will inherit an even more hellish world!”
