Finally the heatwave broke and we have had rain showers for 3 days, giving my roses new hope! They respond so much better to natural rain water compared to "artificial" watering.
... with temperatures up to 38°C during the weekend :-((

Last Sunday night, after quite a warm day, looking across to the ranges.
We'd popped up to the farm on the hill to take in the cooler evening breeze.
Little did we know the next few days would be scorchers.
With no cloud cover at all, the nights are still chilly and reviving.
Rested the camera on the car bonnet.
Quite liked the reflections.

Having suffered all day from the tremendous heatwave here in Southern England I decided to do something proactively against sweating and find my solace and refreshment in this memory from May when we stood by the shore of this little Icelandic river which had sculpted kind of half pipes into the unbelievable masses of snow. I am sure you will feel just as refreshed as I did when picturing myself back in this place :)

After the two day heatwave we are back to pale grey skies which only resulted in a light drizzle to dampen the land

I tried to log on for a bit, to do a couple posts but, it turns out, the heatwave is not only affecting my body but, my PC as well.

We're in the middle of an unseasonable heatwave which is expected to peak on Sunday with 34c. A tad too hot for May although looking on the bright side, the swimming pool is in constant use!
After being showered with a sprinkler, the gorgeous lantanas held some water drops on them, which added a cute, fresh look.

This heatwave wears the strongest cat out !
Cleo still wants to go out in the garden but she moves even less than usual. Most of the time you find her asleeep somewhere in the shade and the fact that even our sunlover Cleo seeks shade speaks volumes.

Life outdoors isn't what it used to be. The photo was taken early in the morning but it was already too warm for the Dragon when he was lying on the garden box behind the house. Right now we have about 36C / 97F in the shade, nobody is outside anymore (although 26C/79F indoors and rising isn't really refreshing either). The cats will probably come to life again after midnight when I will try to sleep despite the temps.
