Life outdoors isn't what it used to be. The photo was taken early in the morning but it was already too warm for the Dragon when he was lying on the garden box behind the house. Right now we have about 36C / 97F in the shade, nobody is outside anymore (although 26C/79F indoors and rising isn't really refreshing either). The cats will probably come to life again after midnight when I will try to sleep despite the temps.

How many kinds of sweet flowers grow in an English country garden? Blue ones, for example. And they know how to deal with a heatwave. Polariser used.

Back from a mini holiday break. No photos this time as it was more of an activity holiday than a scenic one, so here is one I took after! Chinon 135mm M42.
Frangipani or Plumeria flowers must love our current heatwave. Yesterday going through the neighborhood I saw bush after bush of different colored blossoms. These were my favorite, a lot because of the water drops on them.
We've had no measurable rain since Feb. and don't expect any till October so everyone waters early before the sun gets going.

Sunset on a lovely July summer day in Northern Ireland. Temperatures hit 23 C which is a heatwave here! There was some nice atmospheric haze which caught some nice colours as the sun went down behind this beautiful lone tree.

Day 1 of 20 of albums that influenced my musical tastes. I'll start with Standing on a Beach. I remember listening this CD everyday in my high school years, in my house or in my friend's room, feeding our minds with these dark sounds and some bright musical notes, creating our perfect soundtrack for the teenager.
The album was titled Staring at the Sea in CD format in some countries is the first greatest hits album by the English band the Cure, released in the United States on 15 May 1986 by Elektra Records and in the United Kingdom on 19 May 1986 by Fiction Records, marking a decade since the band's founding in 1976. We have been experience some extreme weather in this area.
With scorching temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius (108 degrees Fahrenheit) and predicted 45 degrees for the weekend, with the thermic sensation over 50 degrees, the air is so heavy. I remember that in The Stranger ( L'Étranger, lit. 'The Foreigner'), also published in English as The Outsider, a 1942 novel written by French author Albert Camus, the main character, Meursault gets disoriented and on the edge of heatstroke, shoots and kills another character when he flashes his knife at him.
I think it is time for a refreshing lager. and maybe if Meursault had a beer at noon, these tragic event may never happened.
