I have never come across such a friendly Robin . Every week, I tend to my daughters grave and this little darling has shown up on a couple of occasions just lately to keep me company. You can tell that my daughter's memorial bench is the normal perch due to the amount of poo splattered across the back. Anyway last weekend when we were on our way to Blandford we stopped of at the church. We had not been there long before this dear little Robin put in an appearance happily flitting about no more than a few inches from my hand.
Thanks for the comments and faves, they are very much appreciated.

The very idea of a bird is a symbol and a suggestion to the poet. A bird seems to be at the top of the scale, so vehement and intense his life. . . . The beautiful vagabonds, endowed with every grace, masters of all climes, and knowing no bounds -- how many human aspirations are realised in their free, holiday-lives -- and how many suggestions to the poet in their flight and song!

Having been on a whirlwind vacation with family for the last week, I rested in the backyard on this Labor Day and was rewarded with a visit from this fine male RTH.

In the garden this year there are lots of plants which attract bees. They move very quickly though.
Have no fear
For when I'm alone
I'll be better off than I was before
I'll be around to grow
Who I was before
I cannot recall
And did we tell you the name of the game, boy? We call it 'riding the gravy train'...
Bill Crisp is indeed riding the "gravy train" as he pilots a short, over-powered #145 Ford autoparts train from the cab of the Veterans unit, whilst enjoying a large stogie.

Having been at WWT Slimbridge all morning on the return home I stopped off in the Cotswolds hoping to see a Short Eared Owl
In the last hour before sunset a Barn Owl showed up and started to quarter the fields searching for a meal.
With a heart-shaped face, beige back and wings and pure white underparts, the Barn Owl is a distinctive and much-loved countryside bird. Distributed across the UK.
Kawah Putih is arguably one of the most beautiful crater lakes on the island of Java, and quite probably in the Indonesian archipelago. It is located about 46 kilometers south of Bandung on Patuha mountain (2,434 meters above sea level). The crater was discovered by a Dutch-German botanist and platation estate owner Franz Wilhelm Junghuhn in 1837.
According to geologists, this crater lake was created as a result of Mt. Patuha volcanic erruption in the year 1000 - 1200.

Time will never stand still and those moments that bring us such joy become memories in an instant. To capture such a moment and record it forever is truly monumental.

Having missed the sunlight even though I dashed over here right after work, I still got what I could of a couple of trains in the shadows. Here, a KCS intermodal glides south on the UP Springfield Sub in Venice, IL.
Have tried and tested this concept before as well but could not resist trying it again !!!

Have never done either one.
But, I have been in love and like to go on.
In color or in monochrome
Secured or liberating
Love is no less dangerous
Nor any less amazing. :)
Having too much fun all dressed up and hoping to go out for the evening. It's so boring here at times.

This is a lean out the door take picture and post it , NO adjustments whatsoever !
This is what it was like for most of the afternoon today , taken with the TZ60 and what you see is what it was .
Just before it turned like this there was a brief showing of the VERY red sun - missed that !
Apparently all down to the Hurricane Ophelia , in the South East we missed the terrible winds that hit Ireland and Wales but had this side effect . The colour was due to the winds coming up from the south carrying sands from the Sahara and smke from the awful fires in Portugal and Spain .
Very apt that this all took place exactly 30 years after The Great Storm of 1987.
It was all very Surreal !!
I have a tiny fan that plugs into a USB port on my laptop. It's a magic little thing that cools me well during our very hot Summers and is most effective despite how small it is. For some reason, it has the word "Click" printed in silver on a little disk of black metal, right over the centre front where the fins of the fan meet. An ultra-violet light really lit things up nicely.
