Other people have built LEGO models of the F-22 production version, typically using one of many LEGO one-piece cockpit canopies. I don't think any of them come particularly close to the shape of the canopy of the YF-22, though, and most of my other aircraft have brick-built canopies. So, I went with a brick-built canopy for this model too. This has two drawbacks: it's obviously not very transparent and its construction means the pilot has to sit quite low. However, I like the look and I'm happy I managed to fit a pilot at all!
Having finished its work at the Vinyl plant in Nephi, UT the LUL57 heads north towards its next stop.
Having arrived in the yard he detached and pulled forward to run-round. Best we could get in the circumstances.

Over the next few days I am going to be cleaning up my contact list as it is too large to really handle as well as I want to. I will be removing people that are no longer active or seem like they no longer wish to be contacts or friends with me for what ever reason. I will not remove anyone who visits at least every once in a while to say hello or replies to comments I leave for them. If I remove you and you want to stay contacts and friends just pop me a note and I will add you back. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I want to visit my active friends as much as possible.

Having waited for the outbound service to pass it at the double track section in the distance 168 005 bumps over the jointed track towards North Acton. The overgrown sidings on the right are now used by Marcon Topmix aggregate trains operating out of the stone terminal (behind the trees on the right) on a semi frequent basis. Like in so many places on the UK rail network the over (and under) growth here has now reached ridiculous proportions.
I have been 'doing photography' for a long time, much of my adult life. It's interesting when I get comments about the diversity of my work. Some bird photographers are surprised I do landscape or 'street' photography, while many others are surprised I do portraiture. Well, mostly, I 'do photography'!
I've always loved to do especially studio head and shoulders portraiture, capturing, or revealing, the inner beauty of a person.
I'm grateful now my granddaughter(s) take part in this.

Je fais de la photographie depuis longtemps, une grande partie de ma vie d'adulte. C'est intéressant quand je reçois des commentaires sur la diversité de mon travail. Certains photographes d'oiseaux sont surpris que je fasse du paysage ou de la photographie de rue, alors que beaucoup d'autres sont surpris de faire du portrait. Eh bien, la plupart du temps, je fais de la photographie!
J'ai toujours aimé faire particulièrement le portrait en studio de la tête et des épaules, capturer ou révéler la beauté intérieure d'une personne.
Je suis reconnaissant maintenant que ma petite-fille (s) participe à cela.

He estado 'haciendo fotografía' durante mucho tiempo, gran parte de mi vida adulta. Es interesante cuando recibo comentarios sobre la diversidad de mi trabajo. Algunos fotógrafos de aves se sorprenden de que haga fotografías de paisajes o "calles", mientras que a muchos otros les sorprende que retraté. ¡Bueno, sobre todo, 'hago fotografía'!
Siempre me ha gustado especialmente hacer retratos de cabeza y hombros de estudio, capturar o revelar la belleza interior de una persona.
Estoy agradecido ahora que mi (s) nieta (s) participan en esto.

Having a house by the sea can give you many photographic opportunities, like this one! The only "problem" is the fence, which I personaly like in this photo! This beauty was just passing by and I happened to have the camera in my hands at that point!

Having worked out in advance where I would have to be to get this shot, I went there feeling very clever, only to find that there was already a group of about twenty photographers with their cameras and tripods in exactly the spot where I wanted to be. The owner of a camera store in the area had come up with the same idea, and had organized a trip to Rat Rock for some of his customers. So - my photo is hardly unique, but I still kind of like it.
EVER WALKED BETWEEN THE ROWS? LISTENED TO IT RUSTLE AND SPEAK, SO MUCH BEAUTY IT MAKES YOU WEAK........

I have posted this image before but am posting it again as it has been Commended in the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2010 competition and has also been awarded a 'Judges Choice' (which means it was one judges personal favorite). I am delighted to say it will be appearing in the Book and is going to be on Exhibition at the National Theatre in London over the winter.
I made a decision this year to enter quirky or unusual images to see what effect they had and out of 15 submitted only this one got through. Needless to say it has been manipulated in PS.
It is a 'Marmite' image - you either love it or hate it. I was inspired by the work of great American photographer, Cole Thompson, who does so stunning work that puts this in the shade.
I am proud to have achieved what I have - my hope was to perhaps get into the book at best.
This image was made handheld on a compact Canon G9 camera with my dog, Stan, pulling on his lead as I tried to steady the shot. he obviously felt his walk was more important than my image making. It was made up at Roker on the glorious North east coast of England at about 1pm in the afternoon under blue skies and blistering sun - in fact everything about the making of this image is contrary to my usual approach of full frame DSLR with L lenses and filters mounted on a tripod and shooting in the 'golden hours'. Just shows - you never know!
Elephants in the San Diego Zoo have a huge enclosure.
Today, seven elephants live in the Zoo’s Elephant Odyssey habitat. Its features include a state-of-the-art Elephant Care Center, helpful, as the herd is made up of older, non-breeding elephants at this time.
They’re enormous and intelligent, strong and sociable. Humans have been impressed by elephants for centuries, simply because they are so big—a male African elephant can weigh up to 7.5 tons (6.8 metric tons)! They also amaze us with their long and flexible noses, large and flapping ears, and loose, wrinkly skin. There are many stories about elephants—you’ve probably heard of Horton, Babar, and Dumbo. Elephants are one of the best-known animals in the world.
Elephants are large and gray and have big ears and long trunks, right? If all elephants seem the same to you, take a closer look. There are two elephant species that are usually recognized: the African elephant and the Asian elephant. There is some ongoing debate about how many subspecies may exist, or whether some of these might, in fact, be species in their own right. Here are a few ways to tell them apart:
- African elephants have large ears that are shaped like the continent of Africa, both males and females have visible tusks, their skin is very wrinkly, their back is swayed, and the end of their trunk works as if they have two fingers there to help them pick things up. African elephants are the largest mammals on land.
- Asian elephants have smaller ears, usually only the males have visible tusks, their skin is not as wrinkly as African elephants’, they only have one "finger" at the ends of their trunk, and their back is dome-shaped.
Empress and Queenie were the San Diego Zoo’s first elephants, arriving here in 1923 via train from San Francisco. After being led off the train, the two Asian elephants refused to move another step, no matter how much encouragement they received. The Zoo’s founder, Harry Wegeforth, M.D., was there to greet them, and it occurred to him that they were probably used to being ridden, so he climbed up on Empress and another staff member did the same with Queenie, and off they walked from the train station to the Zoo, gathering many astonished looks along the way!
Peaches was the San Diego Zoo’s first African elephant—and she made sure to be a memorable one too. When she arrived in 1953, she was three years old, smart, curious, and, as then ZOONOOZ editor Ken Stott described her, “playful as a quarter-ton kitten.” She had made the journey from Africa to San Diego with keeper Ralph “Gabe” Davis, and they got along famously—at least most of the time. When Gabe gave her breakfast, she would grumble and trumpet at him until he left her alone to eat—apparently, she was not sociable in the morning. She also showed a marked preference for men, even pushing away Zoo Executive Director Belle Benchley when she tried to say hello. Peaches did become more mellow as she grew up, but even as an adult, she still had a way of “flirting” with men while more often than not giving women a cool stare.
Since that time, we've had numerous elephants at our two facilities, and our first elephant birth occurred in 1981. In 1971, Asian elephant Carol became famous by appearing on The Tonight Show with the Zoo’s animal ambassador Joan Embery, to meet Johnny Carson and paint for him while millions watched nationwide!
Elephants have been hunted relentlessly for their tusks (even though they’re made of dentine, the same as our teeth). Elephants are now protected, but poachers still hunt them, and they face other problems, too. Because they are so big and need so much food, they can eat themselves out of “house and home.” Elephants and people often come into conflict as elephant habitats undergo dramatic reductions in size. Asian and African forest elephants are listed as endangered, primarily due to habitat loss and fragmentation. African bush elephants are threatened, primarily due to habitat loss and being poached for their tusks.
Elephants Without Borders has been deploying satellite-monitoring collars on elephants throughout northern Botswana since 2000, having tracked over 90 individual elephants; this is one of the longest and largest elephant movement studies in Africa. Every individual pachyderm has its unique character and intriguing story to his or her own seasonal march, preferred routes, and favored places. Each new elephant fitted with a tracking device provides new information to understand the ecology of these animals. Unpredictable individual ranging behavior coupled with a dynamic, ever-changing environment in Botswana underscore the need for long-term elephant studies. The elephants are tracked from a fixed-wing plane, which allows a visual assessment of collared elephants to determine herd structure and habitat use.
Conservation farming project
In collaboration with San Diego Zoo Global, Elephants Without Borders has established a conservation farming project in the Chobe Enclave in Botswana. This project is developing experimental plots with various methods of keeping elephants away from crops, including farming of specific chili species that are thought to be unpalatable to elephants and may deter them from invading crop areas. Along with aerial survey wildlife counts and satellite-collared elephant data, these projects are essential for developing community-based conservation programs to reduce human-elephant conflict and make better-informed conservation decisions for all.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will phase out the show’s iconic elephants from its performances by 2018, telling Associated Press exclusively that growing public concern about how the animals are treated led to the decision.
These photos are from opening day of the 2023 WonderCon in Anaheim, CA. This is still my favorite ComicCon and it always feels wonderful being here. I had a chance to shoot with some familiar faces and some awesome new Cosplayers. Friday is such a good day to shoot - it's not too crowded so I have a chance for relaxed shooting and chatting with both cosplayers and photographers. I took these photos at the end of March 2023.
Having waited a good hour or so with clear blue skies and the sun perfectly positioned I, and many many others, had an Arriva Trains Wales Class 175, running under clear signals, pass by jst at the wrong moment at about 20 mph. Deliberate, maybe, annoying, most certainly. Anyhow the unit shows just how clean A4 Pacific Union Of South Africas tender is as it forms a perfect reflection. I jumped in the car and headed off the Warrington Bank Quay to attemp to craft a shot of the departing train once it had taken on water.

I hope you all don't mind a longer style, I just happen to have a thing for long hair on guys XD

I have been driving by this abandoned, burned out house for about a month now thinking that I wanted to go there for some photos. Today, I finally worked up the nerve to trespass (gasp!) and take some selfies. I was pretty jumpy and some of my camera settings went unattended to. The results were not exactly what they could have been. But, I managed to get a few good shots. There are some alternates that I will post later.
The place was utterly creepy and inspiring. Charred books still on shelves. Melted plates still in cupboards. This bed. Piles of clothes. Some furniture. There was a downstairs that I was too afraid to venture to. I can imagine a zillion amazing shots here. Hopefully I work up the nerve to go back!

that are Confused-moved-blurred-imprecise-indecisive-shots ... the Anglo-Saxon term encompasses with one word this photographic genre with the term "blur", these photos were thus taken during the shooting phase, lengthening the exposure time, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in post-production.
Sono queste alcune storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando per la strada ... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
sono scatti fotografici realizzati pochi giorni addietro, da più parti si suggerisce di rispettare il distanziamento sociale, l'uso delle mascherine soprattutto in luoghi chiusi, il lavarsi o comunque il disinfettarsi le mani ove ciò non sia possibile, suggerimenti importantissimi, soprattutto per le notizie di nuovi contagi che giungono costantemente sia dall'Italia, sia dal resto del mondo ove la pandemia “impazza”….. come qualcuno ha detto...a proposito di questo nostro inizio d'estate italiano....il virus covid-19 non va in vacanza.....
le foto sono Confuse-mosse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico col termine "blur", quese foto sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, allungando i tempi di esposizione, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in post-produzione.

the front to my sister,s birthday card,i have bought a lovely embroidery of a goldfinch,i aim to put it on top of the printed goldfinch.i am hoping it fit,s other wise i will have to alter the goldfinch.my sis loves her bird,s so a birdy card for her and she goes to needham lake /
