I went for a lovely walk with my sister and baby niece today. The weather was lovely and just as well we went out today as tomorrow looks extremely grim...

A rusty door handle and peeling paint found on a building at the Eckley Miners Village Museum.

Monday woodworking,

Both pieces were made few years back, the cutting board is made with 2 type woods, Oak and walnut, the only reason I posted this so I can show the knife with lovely background,

This knife I made 10 years ago reshaped and honed the blade,

using this beautiful Cherry burl scales on the knife brought this antique to life,

In the US the saying is, Jack of all trades, master of none:-)

Hannover 2011 I One of the best 599 I've ever seen! Red with tan interior and matteblack roof, just awesome! What do you think about this one?

I was using my new FA50 and its quite sharp, I think this was taken at ISO 800 and f1.4!!

My resident Ents arrive to handle a werewolf (seemingly the popular cultural interest du jour, no?) which had threatened my tranquility under the appropriately named Wolf Moon. If you look large, you will be better able to make out its head, teeth bared, its threatening growls creating a vapor in the cold air before it quickly vanished. (Lower left corner)

Some of you might think its muzzle a bit short for the species, but I have been advised that is but a genetic variation endemic to the werewolves of this particular area...

[For those that asked...Ents are a fictional race of humanoid trees from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy world of Middle-earth.]

Some of my mugs I've had for years.

One of nine possibilities that I tried out for the SoS theme of “small part sharp”. Not an easy task with a cellphone camera that wants to decide the focus for you.

The Port of New Orleans handles about 62 million short tons of cargo a year. The port also handles about 50,000 barges and 700,000 cruise passengers per year with several ships from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian cruise lines making it one of the nation's premier cruise ports.

A close-up of the well-used handles of tools in a woodworking workshop. I liked the warm red colour of the handles and the textures of the worn paint and wood.
