First go at hand scraping on the bottom block, just one side done I now need to get it square all round now.
They are a old pair of engineers blocks and have been rattled around a toolbox for too long!

During a portfolio review, WizWow suggested doing a series based on this image. I thought it a good idea and appreciated the feedback.
Strobist: 2 lights. Key is a B800 in a gridded strip box, overhead and feathered away (towards camera), f/8. There is another B800 in a socked reflector as a floor skip, also feathered away and un-metered but at minimal power. It was seasoned to taste.

We had a small group photo shoot at Point Woronzof beach, near Anchorage International Airport back in August 2010. Donna was one of the lovely models that joined us. We've shot with Donna several times and she is such a blast to shoot with - fun, photogenic, and one day she will bring us dark chocolate.
We shot on one of the very few sunny days during the summer and it was almost too bright - I had a problem with the shadows - wish I knew more about Strobist photography but I'm learning - that would really have improved the lighting.
Donna has a great portfolio on Model Mayhem and if you have a chance to shoot with her, go for it - she is a blast!
since parts of me are in the shot I'm not the one who operated the camera at that point. However, the crop and all the rest belongs to meeeee.
When I was on UN Peacekeeping duty in the Middle East I had this made for my wife. it's supposed to be her name "Elizabeth" I took it on faith...
