Painting in acrylic of D*Faces hands on a bit of wood I found a few months ago. I'm gonna be painting a lot more hands in the next few months as it's fascinates me how expressive and different everyones hands are.
I have lived for more than25 years in Delft and never visited the factory of Delft Blue china, Royal Delft. Until this week, when my mother stayed a couple of days with us and we expected that she would be interested. And yes, it was interesting. Royal Delft is the last factory where everything is done by hand, according to centuries-old tradition. Including the painting, in black! The colour turns blue during the baking process at 1100 °C.
52 weeks of 2018 - Week 19: Hands
This was also taken on April 5, just as people were ready to march towards City Hall.
If you look closely you can see the word "everything" from another sign that was almost in perfect arrangement with the bigger sign. The sign with Hitler's face is a nice touch, too.
If you haven't seen the video yet, here it is on my YouTube channel. You can see the march as it begins in Pershing Square and ending at City Hall.
I work with kiddos with autism and run a sports camp for the summer. We always do a team cheer at the end. I love the hands reaching in to join in the middle :)
Had a funny pain in my hand this morning, which got me looking at it in some detail. I've always liked my hands - they have always been important to me, the focus of most things I do. Always creative, my hands have come up with all manner of solutions and product. I feel they have their own instincts, their own will, their own direction. My wife is forever bringing me things to manipulate with these hands ("you have those wonderful fingers!") when she needs help with her own creating.
My palm is smooth, and there are few lines, but they are deeply creased - in palmistry, this is the sign of a creative person who focuses energy well into that creativity.
Of course, these are the only hands I know as well as I do. They are so much a part of me, part of my conscious and even unconscious life.
I love hands and watch them whenever someone is speaking. Sometimes what they say is much clearer than words spoken.

She grabbed the feet of our two month old daughter, and I clicked.
So these are the hands of Mr Frapp.
Today we had an intensive dye day but while we were dyeing some of the alpaca the colour wasn't going on even... so this trooper got his hands in all that super hot boiling water to save it and went the extra mile to make sure that no time was wasted and that this commission would work out. He's got to go meet someone to pick up an important package, tomorrow... like this XD
This is the strange combination of Cin/Cesia/Michelle's dye and currently Christina's Orange/red, Liza's Corally colour are all taking a dye bath in my bathroom.
Tomorrow will be the other half of the dye done and a lot of finishing up on commissions.
Its been a real struggle of a week (homesick at Christmas is murder) but I feel like we're getting somewhere, especially when I see this, and know all that hard effort that goes in.
My beautiful daughter's beautiful hands.

This made the EXPLORE page! Thanks!
The "Idle Hands" zine has been in the works for longer than expected but will be dropping soon. The hardest part has been just pushing everybody to get me their pages & slaps. I'm not trippin though because the longer it takes the more people I'm getting on deck with it.
I wanted to upload this photo of some of the stickers I've been getting from homies to get the chance to tell everyone that if you want to get on board with the zine and submit a page & slaps NOW (as in the next week or so) will be the last chance to shoot me a message and exchange info with me! Or just leave a comment. So this is basically last call. I wanna encourage everyone, the more the merrier. The idea is that the zine will be a decent reflection of what we see on the streets everyday, all styles, all bay.
