Had to go up to the hospital today for tests and the area turkeys were standing their ground. So I had to drive around on the grass. Then they came up to my car and started to peck at my hub cap. Getting to be a nuisance.
Had to go to an early meeting at school..look what I found on the way!!! (yes, I was a few minutes late) We rarely get sunrises THIS colorful, but today was special. Tonight we are getting snow, so "pink sky in morning, sailors warning" holds true! (explored highest position #107 Feb. 6)
Had to add the classic bubble shot. I removed most of the golden light. Conditions were still with zero wind that day. I've taken so many of these guys this Spring. I'll jump to some more action shots later.
I wished I had photographed at this location when I was in the Badlands 3 years before, but it had rained and the ground was downright slippery. So, three years later, I went right to it. One prob though when I was scouting in daylight - I didn't have my compass. I'm worthless without my compass. So, when I returned after dark, I immediately could see I was way off the mark in terms of the direction of the Milky Way. Consequently I had to bumble around in the dark looking for compositions. Bumbling around amongst hoodoos and pinnacles is, for me, disorienting, and dropping breadcrumbs isn't gonna help me find my car when I'm finished. This wasn't my favorite composition in terms of my lighting - hard to get definition and texture in that uneven rock without causing unwanted black holes. BUT, this frame does have a swell meteor flashing through it. Maybe give it a click to view larger as the rock texture does show up a bit. I think I see my car out there in the low right corner too. 😉
Had a day out in the Brecon Beacon's on Thursday, it was a fun but long day out travelling up from Plymouth. Here's one shot of Sgwd Yr Eira
Had a lovely day at Blacktoft Sands, when the reserve was showing at its best. Five of these spectacular birds were feeding in front of us

Many thanks for viewing, faves and comments
Had a thunderstorm pop up just south of Broken Arrow and it built up and moved north across us with wind and rain, a welcome break in the summer heat.
We had just walked a trail without seeing or photographing anything.
As we were returning to the car, suddenly a group of these beautiful parrots appeared. They spent some time feeding in the grass and then disappeared.
Uncommon and classified as Vulnerable.

i had a wonderful photo session watching her drying out her wings... by the way it was a big help for her because the birds didn't attack her... only a few meters away there was another one still in her avatar - and it was only a moment I changed the position of my tripod that a bird came and got it as a good full protein meal...
Had a few of the strawberries already looks like plenty more still to come on my little pot plant. The pollinators helping out here! HFDF

Had a bit of fun with this theme! I’m not usually into messing around with the image too much but rather enjoyed producing a couple of quite interesting effects. Chose this one eventually for submission into the ‘Looking close......on Friday’ group, with the theme of ‘Fruits(Over processed picture).
had a small gig (concert) in Herzogenaurach this evening; this is on the way back to my car.
how many people can you see??
Herzogenaurach is the place from where the Dassler brothers come, later known as Puma and Adidas.
I only had half an hour last night as I rushed down the beach with the sun almost gone. I could see photographers to the right, so I made a quick decision to head left for some reflections near Witches Point. I had great fun as the clouds rushed to join me. The others were still there when I left , taking long exposures in the afterglow. I just love the changing cloud patterns, and trying to do them justice. Too late now, was almost right, by Holly Golightly.

Had a little fun this evening at a Halloween Party held down at my Dad's house. Here as the late day gives over to evening ... ghosts appear and protect the pier ;)
Had great fun taking this picture, all you need is milk, sugar and lots of patience especially when cleaning afterwards :)
had some fun with polarization, dialing in & out to suppress or enhance the surface of the water.

I had been out with my camera along the creek and woods by my house and was walking back home. Before crossing the street to my home, something caught my eye in the wooded area. This lovely doe was in the wooded area by me grooming herself. She looked up at me as I looked at her. My camera had all the wrong settings as I had been trying to capture flying hawks and she was in the recesses of the woods. I carefully changed my settings expecting her to run at any second, but she sweetly stayed in one spot staring me down as I did her. After a bit, she slowly sauntered off further back into the woods. This is a somewhat strange encounter in a subdivision right outside of the city, but what a delight it was for me. It is certainly not the best capture of a deer, but probably the most special for me. While I was shooting this lovely doe, my daughter called to say a fox was in her front yard :) She is also in a populated subdivision.
On April 30 I had a lovely chat with friendly visitors from space and I even could sneek a peek into their cockpit and take an image of it ! You see the captain of the crew.
Unfortunaltely this space ship was too small for me to hop in myself ... but it was a fun encounter nonetheless !
Crazy Tuesday - theme of May 3rd, 2022: Made of Plastic
This is actually the plastic head of a reusable metal cocktail stick for finger food; taken in front of the keyboard of my tablet with internal lighting switched on; additional lighting with a coloured LED-light
[ taken with the manual Laowa 60mm 2x magnification lens @ about f/4; the "head"' is about 2.5 cm high ]
I will catch up in the evening ! :)

I took this photo of Filou when he had just woken up from a nap on the sofa. Filou has an unusally sound sleep for a cat and when he wakes up he is often quite confused as if he needs some time to remember who he is, where he is and what is going on. :)
Had the opportunity to make a quick stop to a beach during my latest west coast trip and to my absolute delight I ran into a number of these Oyster Catchers that were very patient with me and my camera! A lifer for me!
Had a pair of Barred Owls capturing squirrels. Then the remaining squirrels left. This was the first one to return.
Had to make a couple of deliveries today and just happened to arrive at one location when this beautiful Western Hognose snake was about to be fed. I apologize if this is upsetting for some, it took me a long time to get used to serving partially eviscerated rats and mice to birds of prey when I was helping rehab them - I always had misgivings, but there is always a food chain in nature. This snake is venomous to amphibians but has never been known to kill a human. Thanks to Billie for correct ID.
As we had a few sunny moments this morning I went to the lake at Monrepos to look for goslings but didn't see any there. On my way home I decided to quickly stop at the river where I ran into a family of Egyptian geese with 8 goslings. Sadly by the time I arrived at the river the sun had disappeared behind dark clouds and it even started to rain. I may try to find them again on a day with better light because today it was really too dark for good photos.
I think I had a good talking to, and when all seemed lost, I became inspired! Or perhaps it was the very nice bottle of Carnivor Zinfandel I returned to that had the desired effect. I had got rather sick of daffodils, but regurgitated versions of this seemed to improve the more I fiddled.......or drank. It's a panormaniacal shot of course.
Had an incredible time with this female bobcat one morning this spring. I was with her for more than an hour (and thousands of shots of course). With the spring colors in the front, that was my favorite setting this morning. Northern California
Had three of them checking out the nesting platform. Lake is open as you can see with the catch. Isle Lake Alberta
I had to get up very early on Friday to drop off my wife at the Portland Jetport. I took advantage to that to stop and take in the sunrise over the Portland harbor. The structure is what remains of a railroad trestle for the Grand Trunk Railroad dating back to the late 1800's, In 1984 it was badly damaged by a fire and had been left in that state until a year or so ago when the section on the right was removed as it had become quite hazardous to boat traffic. I did not know that part had been removed and was rather disappointed to find it missing.

The view from my office window ... in the end it wasn't half as spectacular as it looked (at least not for us)... luckily somehow :-)
They had a show on by the time we got to the Sea Lion pool and it was very crowded. Luckily I had my telephoto lens, so I did manage to get this shot.
cassie had a fun live stream today that Alvie was the model, she offered us a chance to edit the photo as well and so this is my version, hope yall like it!
thank you cassie!
I had to swim on my back with my legs and my left arm while my right hand held the Olympus out of the water and then keep myself afloat with just my legs while I shot
nothing special for a seaman ;)
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
