Had a wonderful day today folks and started to edit when I came home and lost all track of time, so a late post here, so sorry. Many of this guy which I've never seen before but am sure this is it, many flight images and one's I really wanted of the Barny and others, living in paradise is a plus.
Thank to all for everything.
Last week, we had another king tide, as well as 80km hour winds along the water. The wind and waves brought hundreds of logs to Ambleside Beach, as well as destroying the sailing club and some of the seawall, and the pier sustained damage, sadly.
I wish I had been there to witness the power of nature. But I did go there two days after hoping to photograph some of the aftermath. I couldn't get to the pier as it was closed, as was much of the seawall.
So I decided to do an ICM of the logs that had rolled onto the beach. Another photographer was walking into my scene and I thought she looked very ghostly here as she moved slowly along the shore.
Had a blast making this! The infinite mirror effect.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support my photography. It truly means the world to me ♥

Had a great trip to RSPB Fowlsheugh yesterday nice to see so many birds when this terrible bird flu is going about.
Many thanks for stopping by always appreciated.
Had the pleasure photographing this juvenile as it sat on the post for over half an hour preening and enjoying the early morning sunshine.
Thank you for looking.
Had some log in problems this morning, but kept my head cool, like this Wally, and I'm back on line again!!!
Have to check this Wally if it is still this state or redone again in the meantime.
Happy Wall Wednesday!
===Comparisons are easily done
Once you've had a taste of perfection
Like an apple hanging from a tree
I picked the ripest one
I still got the seed
You said move on
Where do I go
I guess second best
Is all I will know
Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes
You're like an Indian summer
In the middle of winter
Like a hard candy
With a surprise center
How do I get better
Once I've had the best
You said there's
Tons of fish in the water
So the waters I will test
He kissed my lips
I taste your mouth
He pulled me in
I was disgusted with myself
Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes
You're the best
And yes I do regret
How I could let myself
Let you go
Now the lesson's learned
I touched it I was burned
Oh I think you should know
Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Oh won't you walk through
And bust in the door
And take me away
Oh no more mistakes
Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay===
Had a trip to one of my favourite locations in Hampshire.
When first arriving here i approached via Old Winchester Hill.
I stopped to take some shots of a few hang gliders up in some nice blue skies (will show those later).
They were soring over to the left of this view but by the time i arrived to this location, one can see the dramatic change in the sky.
Thought it made a great contrasting scene to capture.
I had arrived right at sunset time in front of the most beautiful view that exists on Mâcon. It was the goal of my walk. So I hurried to take my photos, before the sun hid. I even started again several times to be sure not to miss me.
The spectacle was grandiose, with this sun hiding very gently behind the towers of Saint-Pierre church. On the other side of Saint-Laurent's bridge, you can see the towers of old Saint-Vincent, which are all that remains of the old medieval cathedral of Mâcon.
Back home, I assembled the 9 original photos of my panorama, 3 by 3 in HDR mode. I was blown away by the sublime result at end.

Had a great couple of hrs photographing this Avocet. Wading through the marshes, jumping over ditches! Glad the tide was going out! This was the only one I could see, fortunately it played ball, giving me some half decent shots. A first for me!
Had a little play and cropped the foreground out. I think I like this one more!
The theme for week #21 is a free choice! So I think I'll settle for this one.

that's the day i was born and hence, i had a birthday on april 9th, 2009! AHHHH!
it was a fun day. though it ended with bloatedness after drinking a soy chai at a restaurant. it was the powder mix chai, which, from experience, tends to be laden with dairy... Oh NOES! . . .
in any case, it was still fun. a guy gave me a HUGE purple cellophane wrapped basket of homemade peanut butter cookies he made himself, pretty white roses, funny balloons, and a card about BOOTYBUTTS (the card i received at work was about a toilet and poo... ironic much?)! his mom got me a to-die-for gift card to starbuck's (i whole-heartedly support the local coffee and tea shops, but sometimes, they just aren't around when you need 'em the most!)
then he and i went out to breakfast/lunch/brunch/whatever you wanna call it at T.C. Eggington's. they have great vegetarian choices... "portobellini"... yum! on the way to breakfast, we saw a mother and her tiny baby ducks by the freeway in the puddle-y canal/gutter/whatever you wanna call that. it was cool because it was my birthday and they were cute, yet odd because it was by a freeway and not in a park, or in my school's irrigation or something. them duckies must be suffering economically too, eh?
so after that, i contemplated going back home to work on a commedia dell'arte mask for theatre class, but decided to just veg and hang with this guy at his apartment (i find vegging out, doing nothing a bit difficult to do sometimes).
later on, we met up with my parents to eat dinner at the Euro Cafe in Gilbert, AZ. a great foodsie greeky place. and that's where, you know, *ahem*... the soy-chai-laden-with-dairy-omg-why-did-i-order-this fiasco happened. so after dinner, with all of us feeling like cows (even though i hardly ate anything and they ate like contestants in a hotdog eating contest), we went to Wal-Mart of all places. i'm particularly NOT a Wal-Mart fan, but since i was at Wal-Mart and it might be cheaper than at other places, i bought vanilla soy ice cream because i was magnetized/hankering for some.
we finally headed home around 11pm, after which i quickly shoved this guy out the door and kissed him goodbye, so i could heat up some of those peanut butter cookies and WHAM BAM!... inhale hot cookies n' ice cream. mmmmmmmmmm... no cake this year. and i wanted it that way. no one even sang to me either i noticed, but that's perfectly ok. it's not a crime. wait wait...i take that back: he played the weird al birthday song... so essentially, i was sung to in mp3 format. :)
oh yeah, and at work today for my 'employee birthday'... i made up fruit, granola, & yogurt parfaits for everyone. someone bought all the ingredients (i requested it instead of birthday cake), and i went right to work -- whipping up those babies during my lunch break. i was so amazed some people didn't know what a parfait was or how to make them.
well, now they know :)
suffice to say, i'm on a parfait kick now. i hadn't had one in a year before that day. soy yogurt though. yes, please. :)
p.s. thanks dude for taking these kickity arse photos!

Had the chance to drive through an area I call the Snow Geese corridor and came across a pond with a pretty sizable group. Kind of proves the old saying about geese... :)
I had a wonderful visit to Niagara Falls with my camera club on Saturday. This is one of the many butterflies I photographed at the butterfly conservatory. We later visited Bird Kingdom and once it got dark we had a very cold walk along photographing the beautifully lit falls.
Last week we had a day with spectacular Cumulus Clouds Drifting on a Westerly Breeze. I decided that it was time to revisit the “Country Road” The Country Road is a tourist/bike touring route which begins in Mangaweka, travels to Rangiwahia, then Apiti, then down the Pohangina Valley to Ashhurst all via backroads. My route will start in Ashhurst and travel in the reverse direction. All the images are included in my Vlog which Premieres on Youtube at 7 pm (NZT) tonight 21/06/21. The Video of the Vlog can be accessed via the link below
Had another great day of shooting the swallows at the lake - due to heavy rain and wind. Got several passes of this tree swallow - or I _think_ it was the same one, based on the state of the feathers in the wings and tail. it definitely seemed undeterred by the damage!
Had a chance to capture a neat night shot, so I was getting my camera adjusted for the image. About an hour before the event, I was about to capture this. I love the desert sunsets.
Had a short visit with my family and captured a view of the city skyline as seen across Hobsons Bay from Williamstown, Melbourne.
Have a lovely day everyone!
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment or fave this image

I had seen in the weather forecast on Saturday that the morning might be foggy. I got up early and started searching the area for subjects. There was a lot of fog - but it wasn't easy to find a suitable subject.

If you had a crystal ball that could give you the correct answer to any question, and you could only ask it one question, what would you ask?
As for me, I prefer not knowing!
"If I Had a Hammer (The Hammer Song)" is a protest song written by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays. It was written in 1949 in support of the Progressive movement, and was first recorded by the Weavers, a folk music quartet composed of Seeger, Hays, Ronnie Gilbert, and Fred Hellerman. It was a number 10 hit for Peter, Paul and Mary in 1962 and then went to number 3 a year later when recorded by Trini Lopez in 1963.
The morning fog had burned off the valley as I headed east on CA 58 towards Tehachapi, Bakersfield behind me. I wasn't sure how this would come out, the sun was above and directly in front of me, so bumped up the contrast and used my slightly tented windshield and fast shutter to reduce the brightness. Also luck to find one of the few spots on this steep climb big enough to pull my rig off the roadway.

Yesterday I had a date with myself for dinner. With this indescribable beautiful view at mt. Lilienstein and the setting sun, it didn't need much to get a festally meal. Even the musical backdrop of an uncountable amount of different birds everywhere was a feast for the senses. And not as a sideline I had the opportunity to spend time with someone, thats really important to me. After all it was a very successful evening.
I have long had this creature on my Bucket List of shots I wanted to capture. My husband took a trip to YNP with a friend and was able to spot a badger burrow. I was so envious when he came home with a few shots. On one outing, I saw a badger moving through the weeds with the tail showing, but never did I get the full view. Finally in 2021 I found my first Badger family.
The location was in YNP near Lamar Valley. I spent many hours watching for some action. Mom, (the sow) often peeked out of the burrow (setts) to check out the photographers. The American Badger is a nocturnal hunter. They are fossorial carnivores, as they catch a large portion of food when they tunnel after rodents with great speed. This badger was a solitary, with only one home. Mom had three cubs (kits), but on the day of filming, a coyote had capture one baby. The next day, another cub disappeared. Mom was very attentive, and would pull the badger out for daily grooming. I think she actually felt safer with the photographer watching her home. When Mom did leave the burrow, I was shocked to see her long body (which can be 23-30 inches long and can weigh 14-19 lbs. for females and the bore can weigh more). I never saw the male.
They have powerful front claws and can run 16-19 mph for a short distance. They eat coyotes and other small mammals, with added protein from worms and bugs. The grizzled black-brown and white pelts are used for shaving brushes and paint brushes. The America Indian along with other groups often ate the meat from the badger.
At the weekend we had high visitors in our garden. A group of admirals sat down on the overripe fruits of our honeysuckle to fortify themselves with the (probably) very sweet juice of the berries. Unfortunately they were too shy to let me photograph the open wings.
Since they first appeared this year and then too numerous (at least 4 at a time) I think they are preparing for their journey.
Admirals are migratory butterflies that fly over the Alps to southern Europe and sometimes even as far as Africa in autumn, at least 1,500 to 2,500 km, to spend the winter there. An overwhelming achievement for such a delicate creature. So I'm happy to provide them with a refueling station.

It had been a fairly ordinary day until the breakdown...
Created for the 48th Contest on Man Ray: Market Trolley
With thanks to Paul for the starter image and several of the textures, the men are from the LOC, the other textures are mine.
Had this sitting in a folder for a few months, but now it's getting posted. Random meeting in SL, and i have idea who he is .. I just liked the scene so i shot it .. Have a wonderful Sunday ♥
Had a pretty good day yesterday folks, slow with other species but again not with the Hawks, as you will see in the days to come.
Have a great day and as always thank you for visiting, it has been an ordeal for sure.
I had been to the lake several times this spring and summer. Yet I had no idea there was a family of swans at this end of the lake. I go to check on some grebes and shorebirds but never really looked out further than the first 50 meters.
On my drive into the the area I noticed this family and was happy to spot them and a little sad that I did not pay attention the other dozen times I went there previously. Makes me realize that we get tunnel vision when we expect to find certain species and need to stop and look around and listen to what else might be around.
Young swans and swan babies are called cygnets until they reach their first year of age.

Had an epic road trip for work today. I took this shot on the way home - I found a side road and drove until I seemed clear (no trees in the way) and set up the tripod. I got a few shots looking more to the left and then took this shot just before I left. It was hard to see because it really was pitch black, so I didn't realise I had so much of my car in the frame - I love how the stars are reflecting on the windscreen!
Had a trip to North Yorkshire last week to get some photographs of Staithes and Whitby, I wasn't disappointed with the weather or my photographs. This was one of the first shots I took in Whitby as the scene jumped right out at me. Not bad for a March day is it and we have just left February.
My Bob has had a rough week... last Thursday we had to rush him to the emergency vet because he was staining to make.... he was yowling all over the house, staining while he was walking.... the vet said his bladder was full and he had a blockage.... after flushing him out in both areas, we took him home... a few days and he still acted strange... constantly going in and out of the box and nothing... but then he did make and what a relief...
On Monday I took him to our vet and she did a lot of tests, even a urine culture.... thank goodness his levels are not bad and he's acting like his old self.... he is 17 years old!
She put him on an antibiotic for a week and I'm hoping that will also help him feel better.
It's so scary and heartbreaking when you know they don't feel well and they can't tell you what is wrong...
Thank God he is doing better... so we want to wish everyone a Happy Caturday and enjoy the rest of the weekend!!
