High Plains District BLM employees teamed up on July 9, 2011 to give back to their local community. The group met in Buffalo, Wyo. to work on a Habitat for Humanity house. The group spent the day shingling the roof and digging and framing the parking pad
This quilt was made for a Habitat for Humanity family. I designed the lion, Annabelle did the machine applique and cut the strips. I sewed it together and Catherine did the quilting.

Dosti Dustov and his wife, Oisha Dustova, have ten children. They used to get all of their water from a muddy, polluted irrigation canal near their house until they obtained a bio-sand water filter from Habitat for Humanity Tajikistan.
The Habitat for Humanity team had their work cut out for them over the weekend. As you'll see from the other picture, they did a fabulous job!
