Habitat’s 2,000th Canadian Family – Rowena, Jeffrey, and their children Alliana, Justin and Katelyn (baby) are Habitat for Humanity’s 2,000th Canadian family to receive a safe, decent and affordable Habitat home, which is part of Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg’s Sir Sam Steele housing development.

For the past three years, Habitat's annual Blitz Build has taken place at the Sir Sam Steele site on the popular Nairn Avenue location. The initial three-year plan concluded last year with 32 Habitat homes using up all the available land, except of course where the abandoned old school resides.
Last fall, Habitat purchased Sir Sam Steele school and property and will replace it with a planned 18 new homes over the next two years.
Habitat for Humanity wanted to develop their online fundraising with the implementation of an 'e-cards' website to allow both corporate and public supporters to send virtual greetings cards to friends and colleagues, followed by a donation to the charity.

Nolan Family – Ken Nolan, who suffers from severe emphysema, makes sure Habitat knows how thankful he is of being able to breathe easy in his mould-free home. Him and his family now live in comfort thanks to Habitat for Humanity Durham.

General Global Village – Global Village volunteers are provided with the unique opportunity to provide safe, decent and affordable homes to those in need, while also travelling around the world, experiencing other countries and cultures. A Global Village trip can be a life changing experience for the volunteer, the community they visit, and the families whose lives are changed because of their work.
