Meet Shaman, a very energetic participant in the Polar Bear Dip! After he finished his dip he performed a number of jumping jacks and push-ups. We only had a quick moment to chat, enough to get his name and that he also works for Habitat for Humanity. The logo on his chest is theirs.

6/16/12 The Habitat for Humanity construction site – lots of parallel lines and perspective challenges – was a bit overwhelming, so I walked around and spotted a bright yellow forklift, but I thought the composition needed a human or two. Cue Chris, who stopped to sketch the forklift himself. (Pitt Artist pen, watercolor)

On our last meal together we went to a nice restaurant on the ocean. Near the end of our meal about 25 women dressed all the same came out to offer cigarettes to the restaurant patrons. Then, after about 10 minutes, they were gone! I'm guessing the go from restaurant to restaurant and swarm the place. Why are they all dressed like sexy catwoman? Who knows...who cares?

Winnipeg Blitz Build Photos – Each of these photos were taken during Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg’s 2010 Blitz Build event, held on their Sir Sam Steele housing development.

For the past three years, Habitat's annual Blitz Build has taken place at the Sir Sam Steele site on the popular Nairn Avenue location. The initial three-year plan concluded last year with 32 Habitat homes using up all the available land, except of course where the abandoned old school resides.

Last fall, Habitat purchased Sir Sam Steele school and property and will replace it with a planned 18 new homes over the next two years.
