Ας θυμηθούμε πώς ήταν η ανθρωπότητα την εποχή του Νώε. Οι άνθρωποι έκαναν κάθε λογής κακία, χωρίς να τους περνάει καν από το μυαλό η μετάνοια. Κανένας τους δεν άκουγε τον λόγο του Θεού. Η αδιαλλαξία και η κακία τους προκάλεσαν την οργή του Θεού, και στο τέλος όλοι αφανίστηκαν από την καταστροφή του μεγάλου κατακλυσμού. Μόνο ο Νώε και η οκταμελής οικογένειά του άκουσαν τον λόγο του Θεού και μπόρεσαν να επιβιώσουν. Τώρα, οι έσχατες ημέρες είναι ήδη εδώ. Η διαφθορά της ανθρωπότητας όλο και βαθαίνει. Οι πάντες λατρεύουν το κακό. Ολόκληρος ο θρησκευτικός κόσμος ακολουθεί το ρεύμα του κόσμου. Δεν αγαπούν ούτε στο ελάχιστο την αλήθεια. Οι ημέρες του Νώε είναι ήδη εδώ! Προκειμένου να σώσει την ανθρωπότητα, ο Θεός έχει επιστρέψει και πάλι για να κάνει το έργο της κρίσεως των εσχάτων ημερών ανάμεσα στην ανθρωπότητα. Αυτή είναι η τελευταία φορά που ο Θεός σώζει τον άνθρωπο! Τι θα πρέπει να επιλέξει η ανθρωπότητα; Η ιστορία αυτή είναι αληθινή. Από τότε που οι κάτοικοι του Κινγκπίνγκ στην επαρχία Σετσουάν επανειλημμένα αρνήθηκαν να δεχτούν το Ευαγγέλιο της βασιλείας του Παντοδύναμου Θεού, έχουν υποστεί δύο καταστροφές. Στον Μεγάλο Σεισμό του Σετσουάν, πολλοί αδελφοί και αδελφές που πίστευαν στον Παντοδύναμο Θεό προστατεύτηκαν θαυματουργικά από τον Θεό και επέζησαν. Αυτά τα γεγονότα είναι αφηγήσεις αυτοπτών μαρτύρων: μιλάνε για εκείνους που δέχονται τον Θεό και Τον υπακούν και για εκείνους που Τον αρνούνται και Του αντιστέκονται. Αυτά τα δύο είδη ανθρώπων έχουν πολύ διαφορετική κατάληξη!
Αστραπή της Ανατολής, η Εκκλησία του Παντοδύναμου Θεού δημιουργήθηκε λόγω της εμφάνισης και του έργου του Παντοδύναμου Θεού, της Δευτέρας Παρουσίας του Ιησού Χριστού, του Χριστού των εσχάτων ημερών. Απαρτίζεται από όλους εκείνους που αποδέχονται το έργο του Παντοδύναμου Θεού κατά τις έσχατες ημέρες κι έχουν κυριευτεί και λυτρωθεί από τα λόγια Του. Ιδρύθηκε εξ ολοκλήρου από τον ίδιο τον Παντοδύναμο Θεό και είναι Αυτός ο Ποιμένας της που την καθοδηγεί. Σίγουρα δεν έχει δημιουργηθεί από κάποιο πρόσωπο. Ο Χριστός είναι η αλήθεια, η οδός κι η ζωή. Το ποίμνιο του Θεού ακούει τη φωνή Του. Αρκεί να διαβάσετε τα λόγια του Παντοδύναμου Θεού για να δείτε ότι ο Θεός έχει εμφανιστεί.

I had a solid handful of opportunities to photograph this particular tree during my recent stay in the lowcountry of South Carolina. On this particular evening however, the tree was not my initial target. The adventure began with my mother, also an avid photographer. Previous trips to the lowcountry had netted us each some great photographs of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge from the Mount Pleasant side of the span. As such, we were trying to maximize our short visit by avoiding similar compositions and instead finding new vantages. We decided to walk up onto the bridge and photograph from up top, something neither of us had done before and somewhere both of us had seen neat photographs taken before. Arriving about an hour before sunset, we grabbed our packs and tripods and began the awkward walk up the pedestrian trail to the top of the bridge. Why awkward? Well, here we were, two severely overdressed and loaded down tourists, lugging the kitchen sink up a paved multi-use trail that was packed with bikers, runners and otherwise speedy individuals putting in some evening road work whizzing past us on both sides. The sunset skies were fizzling out and we each pretty much gave the other a look of question, and decided to bail. Down the trail we went, gear back in the car, and into traffic with the navi pointing back to Folly Beach.
Having made it back to the island without too much headache, we decided to head out to the beach to see if we could make something of whatever was left of sunset. Since Folly Park closed before dark, we pulled up to the last public parking area on the west end of the island, paid our fee at the self-pay booth (does anyone really pay at these things?), and began walking the beach. Soon, it was apparent that the skies were going to put on a bit of a show and some reds and oranges began to appear on the western horizon. I had originally thought that I would concentrate on some of the jetties and tidal pools utilizing the blue hour of evening, but I couldn’t help but answer the tug of color in the skies. Ensuring that my mother was okay doing her thing on the beach, I began running towards the tree and tidal pool at the west side of Folly Beach County Park. What seemed so close turned into a real challenge with a forty-plus pound pack and tripod on my back! I had to stop a few times to catch my ragged breath, only to quickly resume my labored sprint towards the colored skies and my hopeful subject. By the time I had reached the tree much of the color had faded from the skies (wish I could say this was the exception and not the norm!). To complicate matters more, I needed to get into the thigh-deep tidal pool in order to close the gap between the tree and I because my wide angle lens wouldn't capture the scene properly from the dry shore. Each step further into the water created ripples and destroyed the reflection, requiring me to actually stand bone still and wait patiently after reaching a close enough vantage. Compositions were obviously limited with this scenario as the tripod legs (and mine) moving around were not optimal for a clean reflection during a time-restricted event like a sky that was quickly burning out. Thus, the result—this particular photograph, one of only four frames I eventually snapped—is actually the product of a salvage mission that started at the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge an hour or so beforehand! Part of me wishes that I had been at Folly Beach County Park earlier in the evening and taken full advantage of the opportunity, but another part of me, perhaps a wilder part, really enjoyed the hunt and the excitement of the process and thus, makes me more appreciative that I got what I did out of the whole ordeal!
More often than not, for me as the photographer, it’s the “stuff” that lies behind a photograph that brings meaning and separating that out to objectively decide whether or not any particular photograph will have impact with an uninvolved viewer is not always as cut and dry as I imagine it will be. Perhaps that's the driving force behind the "stories behind the scenes" that I like to provide with my photographs--a means, however imperfect, for interested viewers to dive even deeper into the frame, into the adventure, into the very places that I have a passion for.

Das Verdichtungsverhältnis wurde im Laufe der Entwicklung von Verbrennungsmotoren immer weiter gesteigert.
Die allmähliche Steigerung der Verdichtung lag lange vor allem an der Kraftstoffrezeptur.
Heute sind Oktanzahlen bis 102 ROZ an der Tankstelle verfügbar.
Ältere Motoren haben tendenziell niedrigere Anforderungen an die Kraftstoffqualität, da die Kraftstoffqualität noch nicht so hoch war, als sie entwickelt wurden.
Auch die Gestalt des Brennraums und des Ansaugtrakts trägt zum Oktanzahlbedarf bei.

*Eine Bedingung für heutige hohe Verdichtungsverhältnisse ist die Direkteinspritzung und die Verwendung von Klopfsensoren.
Der Zeitpunkt und die Menge der Treibstoffzugabe wird hier exakt gesteuert, womit eine vorzeitige Zündung – und somit ein Klopfen – verhindert werden kann.
Moderne Motoren haben Klopfsensoren, die aufkommendes Klopfen erkennen. Sie können den Zündzeitpunkt an die Benzinqualität und an die Motoreigenschaften anpassen.
Bei höherem Verdichtungsverhältnis (genauer: Expansionsverhältnis) ist auch der thermische Wirkungsgrad höher.

wirkt sich erst bei Vollgas (Volllast) positiv aus!
Beispiel würde eine Oktanzahl von ROZ = 95 (umgangssprachlich: 95 Oktan) eines Benzins bedeuten, dass dessen Klopffestigkeit einem Gemisch aus 95 Vol.-% Isooktan und 5 Vol.-% n-Heptan entspricht.
Iso-oktan ist klopffest und kann stark verdichtet werden, ohne dass es zur Selbstzündung kommt.
Beispielsweise kann der Oktanzahlbedarf eines Motors
bei Vollgas um 10 Oktanzahlen höher
liegen als im Leerlauf.
Man kann hier auch von einem Volllastbereich sprechen, vergleichbar mit einer sehr schnellen Autobahnfahrt.
Die Verwendung von oberhalb der Motorspezifikation liegenden Oktanzahlen bringt im Regelfall keine Vorteile.
Moderne Motoren mit elektronischer Kennfeldzündung
in Kombination mit Klopfsensoren können mit verschiedenen Oktanzahlen bei reduzierter Leistung gefahren werden.

Η καθημερινή βρώση και πόση που ο Θεός ετοιμάζει για την ανθρωπότητα
Όταν οι άνθρωποι δεν έχουν να φάνε σιτηρά, οι πατάτες μπορούν να αποτελέσουν βασικό στοιχείο της διατροφής τους, ώστε να καταφέρουν να διατηρούν τα τρία γεύματα ημερησίως. Οι πατάτες μπορούν κι αυτές να αποτελέσουν παροχή τροφής. Οι γλυκοπατάτες δεν είναι τόσο καλές όσο οι πατάτες, όσον αφορά στην ποιότητα, αλλά, και πάλι, μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν ως βασική τροφή για να διατηρήσουν τα τρία γεύματά τους την ημέρα. Όταν τα σιτηρά δεν είναι ακόμη προς διάθεση, οι άνθρωποι μπορούν να χρησιμοποιήσουν γλυκοπατάτες για να γεμίσουν το στομάχι τους. Το κολοκάσι, το οποίο καταναλώνεται συχνά από τους ανθρώπους του Νότου, μπορεί να χρησιμοποιηθεί με τον ίδιο τρόπο και μπορεί να αποτελέσει, κι αυτό, βασική τροφή. Τούτα είναι τα διάφορα σιτηρά, μια αναγκαιότητα για την καθημερινή βρώση και πόση των ανθρώπων. Οι άνθρωποι χρησιμοποιούν διάφορα δημητριακά για να φτιάξουν noodles, ατμιστά ψωμάκια, ρύζι, και noodles ρυζιού. Ο Θεός έχει παραχωρήσει άφθονα στην ανθρωπότητα αυτά τα διάφορα είδη σιτηρών. Ας δούμε τι λέει το πρώτο χωρίο: «Και είπεν ο Θεός, Γενηθήτω φώς· και έγεινε φώς· και είδεν ο Θεός το φως ότι ήτο καλόν· και διεχώρισεν ο Θεός το φως από του σκότους· και εκάλεσεν ο Θεός το φως, Ημέραν· το δε σκότος εκάλεσε, Νύκτα. Και έγεινεν εσπέρα και έγεινε πρωΐ, ημέρα πρώτη» (Γέν. 1:3-5). Το χωρίο αυτό περιγράφει την πρώτη πράξη του Θεού στην αρχή της δημιουργίας και την πρώτη μέρα του Θεού στην οποία υπήρχε ένα απόγευμα και ένα πρωί. Αλλά ήταν μια εξαιρετική μέρα: ο Θεός άρχισε να ετοιμάζει το φως για όλα τα πράγματα και, επιπλέον, διαχώρισε το φως από το σκοτάδι. Εκείνη τη μέρα, ο Θεός άρχισε να μιλά και ο λόγος Του με τη εξουσία Του ήταν πλάι–πλάι. Η εξουσία Του άρχισε να ξεχωρίζει από όλα τα πράγματα και η δύναμή Του εξαπλώθηκε σε όλα τα πράγματα σαν αποτέλεσμα του λόγου Του. Από αυτή τη μέρα και μετά, δημιουργήθηκαν όλα τα πράγματα και κράτησαν γερά χάρη στον λόγο του Θεού, στην εξουσία του Θεού και στη δύναμη του Θεού και άρχισαν να λειτουργούν χάρη στον λόγο του Θεού, στην εξουσία του Θεού και στη δύναμη του Θεού. Όταν ο Θεός εκστόμισε τις λέξεις «Γενηθήτω φώς», έγινε φως. Ο Θεός δεν ξεκίνησε κάποιο εγχείρημα. Το φως εμφανίστηκε ως αποτέλεσμα του λόγου Του. Αυτό ήταν το φως, το οποίο ο Θεός ονόμασε μέρα και από αυτό εξαρτάται η ανθρώπινη ύπαρξη ακόμα και σήμερα. Επειδή το πρόσταξε ο Θεός , η υπόσταση και η αξία του δεν έχουν αλλάξει ποτέ και αυτό δεν εξαφανίστηκε ποτέ. Η ύπαρξή του αποδεικνύει την εξουσία και τη δύναμη του Θεού και διακηρύσσει την ύπαρξη του Δημιουργού, και επιβεβαιώνει ξανά και ξανά την ταυτότητα και τη θέση του Δημιουργού. Δεν είναι απροσδιόριστο, ούτε απατηλό, αλλά είναι ένα αληθινό φως, ορατό από τον άνθρωπο. Από τη στιγμή εκείνη και μετά, σ’ αυτόν τον άδειο κόσμο στον οποίο «η δε γη ήτο άμορφος και έρημος· και σκότος επί του προσώπου της αβύσσου», παρήχθη το πρώτο υλικό αγαθό. Αυτό το πράγμα είναι αποτέλεσμα των λέξεων από το στόμα του Θεού και εμφανίστηκε στην πρώτη πράξη της δημιουργίας όλων των πραγμάτων από τη εξουσία και τον λόγο του Θεού. Λίγο μετά, ο Θεός πρόσταξε να ξεχωρίσει το φως από το σκοτάδι… Όλα άλλαξαν και ολοκληρώθηκαν χάρη στον λόγο του Θεού… Ο Θεός αποκάλεσε αυτό το φως «Μέρα» και το σκοτάδι «Νύχτα». Από τότε, το πρώτο απόγευμα και το πρώτο πρωινό δημιουργήθηκαν στον κόσμο που ο Θεός ήθελε να δημιουργήσει και ο Θεός είπε ότι αυτή ήταν η πρώτη μέρα. Αυτή η μέρα ήταν η πρώτη μέρα της δημιουργίας όλων των πραγμάτων από τον Δημιουργό, ήταν η αρχή της δημιουργίας όλων των πραγμάτων και η πρώτη φορά που φάνηκε η εξουσία και η δύναμη του Δημιουργού σ’ αυτόν τον κόσμο που Εκείνος δημιούργησε....

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. Well, I have quite a decent life here in Sontheim at the Deinenbach brook. My daddy doesn't do a bad job as a can opener - not every pelt-nose has a buffet with at least four bowls, my buddies have enviously told me. And if he has bought the wrong food, he is usually reasonable - it is enough if I sit reproachfully in front of the bowl in question.
Except in the second half of the night I always have free exit and entrance and also at night I am allowed at least on the terrace to keep an eye on my territory. It's a good thing that Daddy had a small cat door built into the patio door for me.
Only sometimes Daddy is a little stubborn: just because there is a little more water than usual in the Deinenbach brook, he doesn't have to lock me up - I'm no longer a silly young kitten that falls into the stream, and besides, I can swim!
What belongs to me here is quite nice: the garden, the terrace, the bench with the grass catcher box in which I love to sleep, the table, the lookout ladder and the lookout tower. In the garden I have my own valerian, catnip and cat's chamomander. My apartment is not bad either, there is no lack of places for a nap. But the highlight is the dining table - when I sit on it, daddy likes to sit with me and then our heads are exactly at the same height. Not a bad condition for an extensive cuddle session ;-) Then his nose is also exactly at the height of my ear - I love it when his nose pokes in my ear!
At first grandma scolded me when I went to the table, but since daddy and I explained to her a few times that the table belongs to me, she is satisfied that she can eat at my table. Daddy gets to do the same, of course. Sometimes they have something interesting on their plates. Unfortunately, Daddy is very careful with the butter dish now.
At night, I like to shuttle back and forth between my lookout ladder on the terrace and our bed. It's quite nice to kick a few rounds next to Daddy and be stroked while doing so. I also just have to lie on my side or back and I get stroked there too. When I have had enough, I bite him lightly in the hand, which he then understands and leaves me alone. Only sometimes he snores so that I prefer to flee back to the terrace.
In the morning shortly after 7 o'clock I always go to bed to Daddy. He then turns around and puts his feet under his pillow. That way we can cuddle especially nicely. I lie down in his arm or against his chest and head and he strokes me with his other hand.
The other day, I lost track of time a bit and didn't get to our room until 7:35. Daddy was already sitting on the edge of the bed and wanted to get up. But then I opened my eyes wide and looked horrified! He immediately realized that getting up without cuddling first is not possible and laid down again - upside down, his feet under his pillow, as it should be. Then we snuggled together and dozed a bit until the emergency alarm beeped at 7:50 am. That's the way to do it!
In the morning, I sometimes accompany Daddy to the bathroom. You can lie comfortably on Grandma's shower chair or rub heads with Daddy when he's sitting on the toilet. But when he turns on the shower, I prefer to move to the toilet seat. It's nicely padded, too. I'm not at all afraid of water, but I would like to decide for myself when I take a shower!
Somehow daddy is a little piglet - a short shower once in the morning is not enough for the whole day. He should take an example from me, I lick myself thoroughly a few times a day. And then every few weeks a full bath, you are always a clean and well-groomed cat and do not need so stuff from the spray can under the armpits!
During the day there is usually also entertainment. In the house and in the neighbourhood live nice people who are always happy to see me and greet me and also stroke me sometimes. Especially nice plays our janitor Martina, my friend, with me.
Unfortunately, Daddy is in the garden far too seldom. I love helping him with the gardening or taking photos. What he means by "I'll break my bones because I' m falling over you", I don't understand.
When there's nothing else going on, I cross the bridge to the other side of the stream and look for Sammy. He's always good for a bit of a scuffle. I really beat him up when he dares to cross to my side of the stream! Then, in the heat of the moment, we sometimes end up in the stream or a sandy waterhole on the construction site.
A tomcat has to do what a tomcat has to do! It's nice that Daddy understands that and dries me off without scolding me.
So, that was part 1 of my memoirs. You can't start writing down your experiences early enough. Some footballers do the same ;-)

Free admission for Wildlife Trust members. A small admission fee is payable by non-members. There are several waymarked trails on the reserve (Red trail 5km/3 miles, blue trail 3km/2 miles) No dogs are allowed on the reserve (except assistance dogs). The reserve has toilets and a number of birdwatching hides.
Directions
By car From Barrow in Furness follow signs for Walney Island. Cross Jubilee Bridge onto the Island and follow brown signs left at traffic lights, follow this road for about 1km/0.6 miles then turn left down Carr Lane. Pass Biggar Village and follow the road to the South End Caravan Site. Follow the road for a further kilometre until the reserve is reached.
By bicycle The reserve is 5km/ 3 miles from National Route 72 Walney to Wear.
By public transport Buses run from Barrow in Furness to Biggar.

Overview
South Walney forms the southern tip of a shingle island lying at the end of the Furness Peninsula. During the medieval period it was farmed by the monks of Furness Abbey, whilst during the 19th and 20th centuries salt, sand and gravel were extracted leaving large lagoons and some industrial remains.
What to see
Every spring, large numbers of lesser black backed and herring gulls still return and begin to set up nest territories. Other breeding birds include eider duck, greater black backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher, mallard, moorhen and coot. Of the 250 bird species recorded, most are passage migrants on their way to or from breeding grounds. These include common species such as wheatear, redstart, willow warbler and gold crest, as well as more unusual species, which may have been blown off their normal migration route. In winter, large numbers of waders and wildfowl feed and roost around the nature reserve both on the gravel pools and the intertidal areas. Vegetated shingle being a highly unusual habitat, and yellow horned poppy, sea campion and biting stonecrop grow on the single beaches.
Small areas of dune grassland survive with pyramidal orchid, Portland spurge, restharrow and wild pansy. The old gravel workings have developed their own communities with striking plants such as viper's bugloss, henbane and alkanet. Saltmarsh occurs in Lighthouse Bay with species such as thrift, glasswort and sea purslane.

Site description The site is a National Park covering 36,000 ha of the High Atlas, including the highest mountain in Morocco, Jbel Toubkal (4,167 m). Located only 60 km south of the town of Marrakech, the dramatic mountain scenery attracts thousands of visitors each year, many of whom climb Jbel Toubkal or trek elsewhere in the park. The mountain summits are often only slightly above the level of their surrounding high plateaus, which are separated by deep valleys. The park extends from 1,000 m upwards and therefore encompasses a range of vegetation-types, from forest to alpine meadow. Forest only covers 15% of the park, and consists mainly of the oldest Quercus rotundifolia stands in the High Atlas and Juniperus thurifera. Along the valleys, irrigated agriculture is practised and most of the park is used for extensive livestock-grazing.
More than 95 breeding species have been recorded, among them nine species of the Mediterranean North Africa biome. Thirteen raptors are recorded, among them Gypaetus barbatus, which definitely bred in the park until 1980. The Parc National de Toubkal is one of only two areas in Morocco where Apus caffer has been recorded breeding, and also holds several species with quite localized distributions in Africa, such as Rhodopechys sanguinea and Eremophila alpestris.
Conservation issues The National Park was created by 'Arrête viziriel' on 19 January 1942. Despite its protected status, the park has been facing growing pressures since the 1960s. Poaching has wiped out some species and overgrazing has destroyed or degraded much of the natural vegetation. Tourism has mushroomed and led to erosion of footpaths—on some days 30-40 tourists may be found together at one time on the summit of Jbel Toubkal, in spite of the long and arduous trek required to reach it. To counter these threats and safeguard wildlife, in the 1950s AEFCS created a reserve for Ammotragus lervia adjacent to the park, and in 1994 enclosed an area of 1,000 ha for the reintroduction of Gazella cuvieri. Both these measures have resulted in the protection of areas of forest habitat which are important for breeding birds. In 1994, a management plan for the park was drawn up under the auspices of AEFCS. Further conservation measures required include the training of local guides; the protection of nest-sites of the rarer bird species, particularly raptors; maintenance of trails to prevent erosion; and the establishment of grazing enclosures to protect endemic plant species.

At the top of another of the mountains surrounding Petra stands one of the most prodigious of all the façades – ad-Deir, the Monastery. Its name, like that of the Treasury, is a misnomer, relating to its Christian use in the fourth or fifth centuries when crosses were incised on the back wall of the alcove in the interior, and on some of the roundels of the Doric frieze.
A processional way leads uphill along pathways and great sweeps of rock-cut steps until it opens out into a wide terrace, dominated by this monument. Its size dwarfs mere mortals who stand before it like ants before a colossus – yet ants such as these, with improbable tools, cut this vast façade from the rock some 2,000 years ago.
The design is clearly modelled on the Treasury, with its two levels and the circular tholos between a broken pediment. But it is much larger and less elaborately decorated, and its niches contain no statues. In place of the Treasury's floral and foliate motifs, the Monastery has a simple Doric frieze and plain Nabataean capitals. The court in front was once bordered by colonnades on either side, of which only a few column drums survive; and on the slope immediately above it is a large circular area, whose function is unclear. In both these areas large congregations could take part in religious rituals and festivals, whose precise nature is unknown.
The grand ascent, the scale of the façade, and the great open terraces in front of it, all indicate a place of special sacredness. Its original function, long the subject of imaginative guesswork, was revealed during clearance work in 1990-91: it was a triclinium, a feasting hall with benches around its sides, used for banquets in honour of a dead person. Even the identity of that person may be guessed at, thanks to an inscription beside the processional way, which refers to 'the symposium of Obodas the god'. It is known that Obodas I was deified soon after his death in 86 BC; this triclinium, though believed to date to the later first century AD, may have been created as a meeting place for the sacred association dedicated to his cult.

Αρχίζει να επικεντρώνεται στην επιδίωξη της αλήθειας για να διορθώσει την τάση της να ψεύδεται και την ανειλικρίνεια στην καρδιά της. Αργότερα, όταν συλλαμβάνεται από την κυβέρνηση του Κινεζικού Κομμουνιστικού Κόμματος κατά την εκτέλεση του καθήκοντός της και υποφέρει από καταστροφικά βασανιστήρια, είναι έτοιμη να πεθάνει αντί να πει ψέμα και αρνείται να απαρνηθεί τον Θεό. Γίνεται μια ωραία, ηχηρή μάρτυρας για τον Θεό. Η Τσενγκ Νούο είναι ικανή να γίνει σταδιακά ένας ειλικρινής άνθρωπος και να αγαπήσει και να υπακούσει πραγματικά τον Θεό. Always good storm chasing stories to tell about my weather adventures in 2014.
Days right after my knee replacement... Home from the hospital & I definitely wasn't supposed to be out and about. Knee was almost in a cast and I wasn't supposed to be doing anything to aggravate the situation. Though my quest for severe weather never ends and I wasn't going to miss another possible chase especially when its in my backyard. This storm was going to be a photogenic monster... Decision was made & off I went.
I wasn't out for long as the storm has now passed over to the north of the city. Wasn't the wisest of ideas to go out. I headed back home & as I pulled into the drive, the backside edge of the updraft had this incredible mammatus display. It was just a bit north of the city & I had a phenomenal view of this storm as it passed almost directly overhead. Sunlight that was cresting against this was simply incredible. So much detail in these mammatus clouds I couldn't quit taking snaps.
Personal Note *** On the original set Back in 2014 I had use the free Avery photo editor here Flickr and it wasn't the best but I had no prior knowledge of editing them back then. Only shot in .jpg format and I didn't do the best by over coloring and over saturation. Was very under experienced in photo editing back then.
Another epic set of thunderstorm captures from South Central Nebraska remastered through Lightroom and Photoshop. Though I paid for it with my knee just being replaced. I was super sore and the swelling was unreal a few days after this event. All worth it when it comes to what epic views I caught storm chasing on that particular day!

Dopo aver accettato l’opera della fine dei tempi di Dio Onnipotente, grazie alla lettura delle parole di Dio e all’ascolto dei sermoni, giunsi a comprendere l’importanza del cercare di essere una persona onesta nella propria fede, e che solo diventando una persona di tal fatta era possibile guadagnare la salvezza di Dio. Iniziai, pertanto, a praticare l’onestà nella vita reale. Dopo un po’, scoprii che ero riuscita almeno in parte a entrare in questa disposizione d’animo. Per esempio: mentre pregavo o parlavo con qualcuno, ero capace di dire la verità e le parole mi sgorgavano dal cuore; potevo anche compiere il mio dovere con serietà e, quando rivelavo la corruzione, riuscivo ad aprirmi con altre persone. Per questo motivo, pensavo che essere una persona onesta fosse una cosa abbastanza facile da praticare e per niente ardua come le parole di Dio tendevano a dimostrare: “Molti preferirebbero essere condannati all’inferno piuttosto che parlare e agire onestamente” (“Tre ammonimenti” in La Parola appare nella carne). Solo in un secondo momento riuscii a comprendere attraverso diverse esperienze che non era davvero facile per noi, esseri umani corrotti, essere persone oneste. Le parole di Dio erano assolutamente vere e per nulla esagerate.

The Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata) is a wader in the large family Scolopacidae. It is one of the most widespread of the curlews, breeding across temperate Europe and Asia. In Europe, this species is often referred to just as the "curlew", and in Scotland known as the "whaup" in Scots. The familiar call is a loud curloo-oo.
The only similar species over most of the curlew's range is the Whimbrel (N. phaeopus). The Whimbrel is smaller and has a shorter bill with a kink rather than a smooth curve. Flying curlews may also resemble, albeit not existing in the same area, Bar-tailed Godwits (Limosa lapponica) in their winter plumages; however, the latter have a smaller body, a slightly upturned beak, and legs that do not reach far beyond their tail tips. The Eurasian curlew's feet are longer, forming a conspicuous "point". The curlew exists as a migratory species over most of its range, wintering in Africa, southern Europe and south Asia. Occasionally a vagrant individual reaches places far from its normal range, such as Nova Scotia and the Marianas. It is present all year in the milder climates of Ireland, the United Kingdom and its adjacent European coasts.
Formerly classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN, it was suspected to be rarer than generally assumed. Following the evaluation of its population size, the classification was found to be incorrect, and it was consequently promoted to Near Threatened status in 2008. Though it is a common bird, its numbers are noticeably declining. In Ireland, the breeding population is estimated to have declined by 86% in the last 30 years. (wikipedia)
The haunting cry of the Curlew is one of the most evocative and memorable sounds of the Irish landscape. For me, it is the sound of my childhood, when I would be out birdwatching during the winter months around Cork Harbour.
Sadly, these iconic birds have been suffering severe declines for many years in Ireland. Whilst they are still a regular sight along our coasts in winter when migrant birds from northern Europe come here to take advantage of our relatively mild winters, feeding in our estuaries and wetlands in large numbers, it is our resident breeding population that is now in danger of extinction. A terrible indictment of the country's (and governments) attitude to our natural heritage. Ireland's reputation for being "green" is, sadly, built on a myth.

This individual was feeding along the estuary in Dublin Bay before the rising tide forced the bird to fly over the Wooden Bridge and into the North Bull Island in Co. Dublin.

I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had missed a few of the other tornados that afternoon in Northern Yuma County. Coming from south to north I had to position myself correctly. Chaser Convergence was also in full swing so there were not may open areas to choose from.
For best pics of a Tornado and to be safe about it a storm such as this was moving North by Northeast... strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... Behind the RFD (Rear Flank Downdraft) It's all about timing, and I honestly didn't think it would produce a tornado til it was well west of my location. That was going to be the wrong guess... Though when I went due north of Wray I had a good viewing point but not in the safest location as you see.
I got lucky this day as...In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.
Staying as safe as I could I wouldn't bail till it was about a mile away then I would head north again to a safer / better viewing position.

2020 Update...I've been revamping how I do things. One of those things is to go back and correct how I did my post processing of images. Several Years of over Colorizing over Saturation Adding color... etc. Yes I'm guilty of doing so and I have been going back and replacing thousands of images in hundreds of sets over these past few months here on Flickr my Fine Arts America Site.
The May 7, 2016 Colorado Tornado Event was by far one of my favorite chase days to date. I was able to capture the full genesis of a tornado. From birth to death. It was a quest of mine to do this in a photography medium. Epic severe weather structure, like once in a lifetime structure to capture. But post processing was a nightmare. The images came out well ... Defined but over colored over saturated etc.
Instead of replacing the images this will be a whole new set with a few hundred new images that I didn't post on the original set back in 2016. I've thought about re-editing these images for a long time and they are finally done. No Altercations what so ever. No Added Light, Color, Contrast.
I've brought them directly from RAW. Simply the way I should have done it in the first place!

However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

１ それまでの写真展。自分は行きたいと思ったか？

３ 原宿デザインフェスタで個展を開くまでに、毎月ひとつの作品を展示することにチャレンジ。
４ 作品とは、素材とシルエット。ファッションと似ている。

東京大学で学ぶ価値
というタイトルが並んでいて、お時間がない方には、この締めに当たる『東京大学で学ぶ価値』だけでも読んで欲しい。
すばらしいです。
さすが、としかいいようがない祝辞です。
このラストパートで僕がもっとも惹かれたのは、もっともラストのテキストにあたるこの部分。
『 … 大学で学ぶ価値とは、すでにある知を身につけることではなく、これまで誰も見たことのない知を生み出すための知を身に付けることだと、わたしは確信しています。知を生み出す知を、メタ知識といいます。そのメタ知識を学生に身につけてもらうことこそが、大学の使命です。ようこそ、東京大学へ。』
このお話を読んで、さらに動画を拝見して確信したことは、僕が触れてきたアーティスト。
たとえば、ビートルズ、マイルスデイヴィス、ピカソ、芥川龍之介、モーツァルト。
こういった革新的な作品を発表し続けてきたアーティストらは、既存のアートを吸収し、再構成して、提出しています。
ここでいう『すでにある知から新たな知を生み出す。それをメタ知識という』
僕が好きなアーティストらが発表してきた革新的な作品群は、この『メタ知識』にあたります。
革新的な作品は、人の目を覚まし、震わせ、息を吹き込みます。
東京大学生に限らず、与えられた場所で自分の知のベストを尽くすことが、多くの人への貢献になります。
たとえばiPS細胞はそのベストな例だと僕は思っています。
なので、自分の知に溺れ、保身になるのではなく、知を晒して多くの人たちへ尽くしてください。
多くの人への貢献は、なかなか難しいかもしれません。
ならば、あなたの身近な人、たったひとりの人だけでも、ベストを尽くしてください。
僕は、若手のみなさんに心から期待しています。
人って、やれないことってないと僕は思っています。
まずは、なにかをやってみてください。
