There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

At the top of another of the mountains surrounding Petra stands one of the most prodigious of all the façades – ad-Deir, the Monastery. Its name, like that of the Treasury, is a misnomer, relating to its Christian use in the fourth or fifth centuries when crosses were incised on the back wall of the alcove in the interior, and on some of the roundels of the Doric frieze.
A processional way leads uphill along pathways and great sweeps of rock-cut steps until it opens out into a wide terrace, dominated by this monument. Its size dwarfs mere mortals who stand before it like ants before a colossus – yet ants such as these, with improbable tools, cut this vast façade from the rock some 2,000 years ago.
The design is clearly modelled on the Treasury, with its two levels and the circular tholos between a broken pediment. But it is much larger and less elaborately decorated, and its niches contain no statues. In place of the Treasury's floral and foliate motifs, the Monastery has a simple Doric frieze and plain Nabataean capitals. The court in front was once bordered by colonnades on either side, of which only a few column drums survive; and on the slope immediately above it is a large circular area, whose function is unclear. In both these areas large congregations could take part in religious rituals and festivals, whose precise nature is unknown.
The grand ascent, the scale of the façade, and the great open terraces in front of it, all indicate a place of special sacredness. Its original function, long the subject of imaginative guesswork, was revealed during clearance work in 1990-91: it was a triclinium, a feasting hall with benches around its sides, used for banquets in honour of a dead person. Even the identity of that person may be guessed at, thanks to an inscription beside the processional way, which refers to 'the symposium of Obodas the god'. It is known that Obodas I was deified soon after his death in 86 BC; this triclinium, though believed to date to the later first century AD, may have been created as a meeting place for the sacred association dedicated to his cult.

The Common Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) (formerly European cuckoo) is a member of the cuckoo order of birds, Cuculiformes, which includes the roadrunners, the anis and the coucals.
This species is a widespread summer migrant to Europe and Asia, and winters in Africa. It is a brood parasite, which means it lays eggs in the nests of other bird species, particularly of dunnocks, meadow pipits, and reed warblers. Although its eggs are larger than those of its hosts, the eggs in each type of host nest resemble the host's eggs. The adult too is a mimic, in its case of the sparrowhawk; since that species is a predator, the mimicry gives the female time to lay her eggs without being seen to do so.
Although the common cuckoo's global population appears to be declining, it is classified of being of Least Concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. It is estimated that the species numbers between 25 million and 100 million individuals worldwide, with around 12.6 million to 25.8 million of those birds breeding in Europe. The maximum recorded lifespan of a common cuckoo in the United Kingdom is 6 years, 11 months and 2 days.
Essentially a bird of open land, the common cuckoo is a widespread summer migrant to Europe and Asia, and winters in Africa. Birds arrive in Europe in April and leave in September. In Europe, hearing the call of the common cuckoo is regarded as the first harbinger of spring. Many local legends and traditions are based on this (wikipedia)
This is one of two juvenile Cuckoos that were entertaining locals and birdwatchers alike at the old train station near Newcastle, Co. Wicklow this autumn. Such a pleasure to have been able to spend a few hours with this individual.

Free admission for Wildlife Trust members. A small admission fee is payable by non-members. There are several waymarked trails on the reserve (Red trail 5km/3 miles, blue trail 3km/2 miles) No dogs are allowed on the reserve (except assistance dogs). The reserve has toilets and a number of birdwatching hides.
Directions
By car From Barrow in Furness follow signs for Walney Island. Cross Jubilee Bridge onto the Island and follow brown signs left at traffic lights, follow this road for about 1km/0.6 miles then turn left down Carr Lane. Pass Biggar Village and follow the road to the South End Caravan Site. Follow the road for a further kilometre until the reserve is reached.
By bicycle The reserve is 5km/ 3 miles from National Route 72 Walney to Wear.
By public transport Buses run from Barrow in Furness to Biggar.

Overview
South Walney forms the southern tip of a shingle island lying at the end of the Furness Peninsula. During the medieval period it was farmed by the monks of Furness Abbey, whilst during the 19th and 20th centuries salt, sand and gravel were extracted leaving large lagoons and some industrial remains.
What to see
Every spring, large numbers of lesser black backed and herring gulls still return and begin to set up nest territories. Other breeding birds include eider duck, greater black backed gull, shelduck, oystercatcher, mallard, moorhen and coot. Of the 250 bird species recorded, most are passage migrants on their way to or from breeding grounds. These include common species such as wheatear, redstart, willow warbler and gold crest, as well as more unusual species, which may have been blown off their normal migration route. In winter, large numbers of waders and wildfowl feed and roost around the nature reserve both on the gravel pools and the intertidal areas. Vegetated shingle being a highly unusual habitat, and yellow horned poppy, sea campion and biting stonecrop grow on the single beaches.
Small areas of dune grassland survive with pyramidal orchid, Portland spurge, restharrow and wild pansy. The old gravel workings have developed their own communities with striking plants such as viper's bugloss, henbane and alkanet. Saltmarsh occurs in Lighthouse Bay with species such as thrift, glasswort and sea purslane.

Always good storm chasing stories to tell about my weather adventures in 2014.
Days right after my knee operated on... Home from the hospital & I definitely wasn't supposed to be out and about. Knee was almost in a cast and I wasn't supposed to be doing anything to aggravate the situation. Though my quest for severe weather never ends and I wasn't going to miss another possible chase especially when its in my backyard. This storm was going to be a photogenic monster... Decision was made & off I went.
Personal Note *** On the original set Back in 2014 I had use the free Avery photo editor here Flickr and it wasn't the best but I had no prior knowledge of editing them back then. Only shot in .jpg format and I didn't do the best by over coloring and over saturation. Was very under experienced in photo editing back then.
This is the original set of captures from this day. There are some here that are edited but most of them are not altered here. Another epic set of thunderstorm captures from South Central Nebraska.
By going out ... I paid for it. Soreness without relief for a few days after this shoot. Knee after the surgery was super sore with lots of swelling. All worth it when it comes to what epic views I caught storm chasing on that particular day!

A Brief History
The Wirral Country Park stretches along the Wirral Peninsula's coastline overlooking The River Dee. Thurstaston Visitors Centre itself is a part of the Country Park and is a very popular tourist attraction and family day out in the Wirral.
In 1866 a railway line was opened along this coastal route, running for 12 miles. It started at the top-end in the seaside town of West Kirby, and continued through Caldy, Thurstaston, Gayton,Parkgate, Neston, Wilaston and Hooton. The line was largely used for agricultural purposes, but also servicedlocal day trippers heading out to West Kirby and Parkgate, as well. Unfortunately the line suffered during the first world war becoming uneconomical to run and in 1956, the line was closed to passengers and used solely for freight purposes. Finally by 1963 the line was closed completely. Today the remnants of this railway line is known as The Wirral Way, and it forms a several mile long public foot path. Itself part of a very popular coastal walk in the Wirral.
The coastal area surrounding the Wirral Way is serene and beautiful, with many stunning views over The Dee Estuary and across to Wales. This coastal view is also renowned for its splendid sunsets, and is many a photographers dream. Sunsets aside, the Dee estuary's mudflats reflect the sky's colours and sun's light providing further beautiful scenes, added to by the flocks of wading birds and water eroded channels.
Thanks to the new 1968 Countryside Act, this whole area was put under protection by Cheshire County Council as a conservation area and was called Wirral Country Park. Today the upkeep of the park is both undertaken by Cheshire County Council, who maintain the stretch between Hooton and Gayton, and Wirral County Park, who maintain the stretch between Gayton and West Kirby.
Thurstaston Visitors Centre
Thurstaston Visitors Centre can be regarded as the focal point of the park receiving the main volume of the park's total number of visitors per year. There are numerous leisure activities available at Thurstaston, an open expanse of grass to sit and picnic on, and the Visitors centre itself which houses a refreshment stand, a shop, a nature exhibit and tourism leaflets and information on what itself and the rest of the Wirral Peninsula has to offer. As such it is a popular tourist attraction in The Wirral, Merseyside and the North West of England as a whole.
The wirral rangers, who are responsible for the maintenance and conservation of the Park are themselves based at Thurstaston.

You can make the day as relaxing or energetic as you wish. From a family barbeque, to a game of rounders, to a relaxed stroll along the beach, there are many things to choose between...
Thurstaston Visitors Centre
This is the central visitors centre within the Wirral Country Park and is located at Thurstaston. It is a central organising point for tourists. There are various things on offer here. within the building is a shop selling various wildlife related products, for example bird feed, feeding stations to erect in your garden, books on nature and the local area, etc. An information desk is located next to the shop with a wide range of leaflets on the Wirral Country Park itself, local tourist attractions in Merseyside and the wider North West area and local wildlife spots; all freely available.
For further information the desk is also staffed with helpful Visitors Centre volunteers who will endeavor to answer any enquiries you may have, and you can also book ranger-lead activities here as well. There is an indoor 'nature trail' for children and adults to wonder through with local wildlife and information about the area's history on display.
Various amenities are also available; well kept toilet facilities, also offering a baby-changing area, are located within the visitors Centre, and a refreshment kiosk is situated on the front, adjoining the centre, with drinks, snacks and ice-cream to buy.
Thurstaston Visitors Centre Field
There is a large expanse of open grass situated by the Visitors Centre. Visitors are free to do as they please as long as respect is kept for the area's upkeep and wildlife - barbecues must be had within one of the designated areas. The spot is popular with tourists, families and local visitors for picnics, ball games, frisbee, or simply to sit and take in the spectacular view over the Dee Estuary mudflats with, Wales on the distant horizon.
There are numerous self-guided walks within this area, including the Wirral Coastal Walk. Excellent views gained by walking along the Thursaston cliffs which over look the beach below. You can in fact walk along the cliff top all the way back to Heswall, with the Heswall Fields to your left. If you feel like it you can follow the footpaths through the fields leading back up to the Wirral Way walk.
Thurstaston Visitors Centre Barbeque
There are two barbeque sites, the main one being located on the back edge of the open field area, within sight of the Visitors Centre. There is a built in brick barbeque, which you can place a disposable barbeque within. There are also a couple of picnic tables and benches to eat your food at.
This barbeque site must be booked before use, and is very popular, particularly within the spring and summer months. You can contact the Thurstaston Visitors Centre by telephone. However, for when the first barbeque site is fully booked up, there is a second area available, located towards the back of the visitors Centre car park. There are no built barbeque spots or benches set up here, but you can place disposable barbecues on the ground. Ask at the visitors centre to be allowed onto this site, and confirm it is available for use at the time you are visiting.
When you have finished your barbeque you should douse your disposable barbeque with water (available from an outside tap at the Visitors Centre building) and leave the barbeque for the rangers to collect at the end of the day. All other waste should go into the bins situated in the barbeque area, with the lids placed firmly back on to prevent danger to the local wildlife.
Thurstaston Beach
Thurstaston beach is part of the Wirral Coastline and runs between Thurstaston and Heswall along the foot of Thurstaston cliffs. The cliffs themselves provide a fascinating backdrop, being eroded into almost surreal shapes and gravity defying peaks. They are also hazardous in their state of erosion, and should never be walked upon on the edges, or climbed, as parts are susceptible to crumbling away at any moment. This coastal strip is very popular with walkers and forms part of the Wirral Coastal Walk
Along Thurstaston beach you will find washed up bits of knarled drift wood, sea shells, and sand eroded rocks and pebbles. The tide does come in daily, though it is never deep and never covers the beach entirely so there is no danger of being cut off. A word of caution, the mud flats do have areas of 'sinking sand' and so care should always be taken in wondering out onto them. Never go out too far, especially if alone. This applies also to horse riders, and there have been horses that have had to be pulled out with the assistance of the local fire brigade.

The other access point is via another set of steps at the opposite end of the park. Walk along the cliffs path in the direction of heswall, you will wonder through a little gully with a footbridge over a small runoff stream, and this path will bring you eventually to the second set of steps. You should never attempt to climb down the cliffs directly to the beach, due to their high state of erosion and the risk of the ground giving away under your step. They are precariously steep and could cause serious injury.

This follows the path of the old railway line which finally closed in 1963. The origins of the Wirral Country Park lies in the history of this railway line. The abandoned railway line was taken under the care of the local council, and under the 1968 Countryside act, was converted into a public footpath with a parallel cycle and bridal path. Numerous tourists and local visitors to the area, walk along the Wirral Way for relaxation, leisure, and excercise. It is used by a variety of people; families out for the day, couples on a romantic stroll, joggers, cyclists, horse riders and more.
At points along the Wirral Way, there will be signposted public paths which will take you various ways through the Heswall fields, either down to the shore line, or up towards Thurstaston village and farm. There is also a footpath signposted to the ominous sounding 'dungeon'. This is a pretty walk through a steep-sided valley with a little stream, and takes you up into farmers fields at the top. gorgous on a sunny summers day. The area is also part of the infamous Wirral Coastal Walk.

This is a pretty walk through a steep-sided valley with a little stream, and takes you up into farmers fields at the top. gorgous on a sunny summers day. Above all, Thurstaston is renowned for its bird watching opportunities. The land and vegetation within and around the Wirral Country Park is an ideal habitat for many bird species, some unique to the area. The Wirral Way is lined by miles of brambles, hawthorn and blackthorn hedges providing ideal hiding, nesting and food sites for the birds. Added to this are the open mudflats of the River Dee Estuary, (itself an important ecological site of special scientific interest). Thus the Wirral Country Park, and it's surrounding area within Thurstaston and the Wirral, can be regarded as a key bird watching areas within Merseyside and the North West of England, nevermind the UK as a whole.
Thousands of wading birds come to feed and survive within the mud flats, from as far afield as Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia and the Arctic. Among the many bird species which can be found in the area are; Coots, Curlew, Magpies, Pheasants, Thrushes, Finches, Fieldfares, Redwings, Lapwing, Oystercatchers, Skylarks, Shelduk, Herons, Short-eared Owls, etc.

Outside the front of Thurstaston Visitors Centre is a large pond which is home to various birds, insects and pond-life, such as frogs, toads, newts and wildfowl. Dragonflies are attracted to the area and will lay eggs in the ponds. In the summer months you till find them darting through the air, along with over 10 different species of butterfly (including, Small Skippers, Speckled Woods and Common Blues). Other insects include Damselflies and Bumblebees.
The local wildlife can contribute to a fun-filled family day out. In the warmer months pond-dipping activities are arranged for children to take part in to learn more about the local environment and Wirral wildlife. You can enquire into and book onto these activities through The Visitors Centre.
The beach offers crabs which scuttle across the sand. As a fun tourist attraction, seashore searches are arranged for children and adults to take part in with the rangers. Contact The Visitors Centre for more information.
Other animals found in the area are badgers, foxes, hedgehogs, bats, mice, fieldvole and squirrels.
Flowers and plant-lifeare another key factor in the local Wirral wilflife and thrive in the spring and summer months. Wild flowers, such as Dog violets, Buttercups and Primroses, grow in the fields and bushes along the Wirral Way. Towards the autumn mushrooms, fairy rings and bracket fungi can be found, and 'Fungal forays' can be participated in with the Rangers. This is also an excellent time to walk the footpaths through the fields between Heswall and Thurstaston, as the Wheat is in season and you can see he coastal winds rippling through the sheafs like waves. Therapeutic and beautiful.
Trees to be found in the Wirral Country Park area include; Sycamore, European Maple, Silver Birch, Downy Birch, Horse chestnut, Sweet Chestnut, Douglas Fir, Rowan, Pine, Willow, Holly, Beech, Ash, Elm and Hazel.

Honfleur is a commune in the Calvados department in Normandy en.normandie-tourisme.fr/normandy-tourism-109-2.html in northwestern France. It is located on the southern bank of the estuary of the Seine across from le Havre and very close to the exit of the Pont de Normandie. Its inhabitants are called Honfleurais. It is especially known for its old, beautiful picturesque port, characterized by its houses with slate-covered frontages, painted many times by artists, including in particular Gustave Courbet, Eugène Boudin, Claude Monet and Johan Jongkind, forming the école de Honfleur (Honfleur school) which contributed to the appearance of the Impressionist movement. The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. The first written record of Honfleur is a reference by Richard III, Duke of Normandy, in 1027. By the middle of the 12th century, the city represented a significant transit point for goods from Rouen to England. Located on the estuary of one of the principal rivers of France with a safe harbour and relatively rich hinterland, Honfleur profited from its strategic position from the start of the Hundred Years' War. The town's defences were strengthened by Charles V in order to protect the estuary of the Seine from attacks from the English. This was supported by the nearby port of Harfleur. However, Honfleur was taken and occupied by the English in 1357 and from 1419 to 1450. When under French control, raiding parties often set out from the port to ransack the English coasts, including partially destroying the town of Sandwich, in Kent, England, in the 1450s. At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Honfleur benefited from the boom in maritime trade until the end of the 18th century. Trade was disturbed during the wars of religion in the 16th century. The port saw the departure of a number of explorers, in particular in 1503 of Binot Paulmierde Gonneville to the coasts of Brazil. In 1506, local man Jean Denis departed for Newfoundland island and the mouth of the Saint Lawrence. An expedition in 1608, organised by Samuel de Champlain, founded the city of Quebec in modern day Canada. After 1608, Honfleur thrived on trade with Canada, the West Indies, the African coasts and the Azores. As a result, the town became one of the five principal ports for the slave trade in France. During this time the rapid growth of the town saw the demolition of its fortifications on the orders of Colbert. The wars of the French revolution and the First Empire, and in particular the continental blockade, caused the ruin of Honfleur. It only partially recovered during the 19th century with the trading of wood from northern Europe. Trade was however limited by the silting up of the entrance to the port and development of the modern port at Le Havre. The port however still functions today. I had a solid handful of opportunities to photograph this particular tree during my recent stay in the lowcountry of South Carolina. On this particular evening however, the tree was not my initial target. The adventure began with my mother, also an avid photographer. Previous trips to the lowcountry had netted us each some great photographs of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge from the Mount Pleasant side of the span. As such, we were trying to maximize our short visit by avoiding similar compositions and instead finding new vantages. We decided to walk up onto the bridge and photograph from up top, something neither of us had done before and somewhere both of us had seen neat photographs taken before. Arriving about an hour before sunset, we grabbed our packs and tripods and began the awkward walk up the pedestrian trail to the top of the bridge. Why awkward? Well, here we were, two severely overdressed and loaded down tourists, lugging the kitchen sink up a paved multi-use trail that was packed with bikers, runners and otherwise speedy individuals putting in some evening road work whizzing past us on both sides. The sunset skies were fizzling out and we each pretty much gave the other a look of question, and decided to bail. Down the trail we went, gear back in the car, and into traffic with the navi pointing back to Folly Beach.
Having made it back to the island without too much headache, we decided to head out to the beach to see if we could make something of whatever was left of sunset. Since Folly Park closed before dark, we pulled up to the last public parking area on the west end of the island, paid our fee at the self-pay booth (does anyone really pay at these things?), and began walking the beach. Soon, it was apparent that the skies were going to put on a bit of a show and some reds and oranges began to appear on the western horizon. I had originally thought that I would concentrate on some of the jetties and tidal pools utilizing the blue hour of evening, but I couldn’t help but answer the tug of color in the skies. Ensuring that my mother was okay doing her thing on the beach, I began running towards the tree and tidal pool at the west side of Folly Beach County Park. What seemed so close turned into a real challenge with a forty-plus pound pack and tripod on my back! I had to stop a few times to catch my ragged breath, only to quickly resume my labored sprint towards the colored skies and my hopeful subject. By the time I had reached the tree much of the color had faded from the skies (wish I could say this was the exception and not the norm!). To complicate matters more, I needed to get into the thigh-deep tidal pool in order to close the gap between the tree and I because my wide angle lens wouldn't capture the scene properly from the dry shore. Each step further into the water created ripples and destroyed the reflection, requiring me to actually stand bone still and wait patiently after reaching a close enough vantage. Compositions were obviously limited with this scenario as the tripod legs (and mine) moving around were not optimal for a clean reflection during a time-restricted event like a sky that was quickly burning out. Thus, the result—this particular photograph, one of only four frames I eventually snapped—is actually the product of a salvage mission that started at the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge an hour or so beforehand! Part of me wishes that I had been at Folly Beach County Park earlier in the evening and taken full advantage of the opportunity, but another part of me, perhaps a wilder part, really enjoyed the hunt and the excitement of the process and thus, makes me more appreciative that I got what I did out of the whole ordeal!
More often than not, for me as the photographer, it’s the “stuff” that lies behind a photograph that brings meaning and separating that out to objectively decide whether or not any particular photograph will have impact with an uninvolved viewer is not always as cut and dry as I imagine it will be. Perhaps that's the driving force behind the "stories behind the scenes" that I like to provide with my photographs--a means, however imperfect, for interested viewers to dive even deeper into the frame, into the adventure, into the very places that I have a passion for.

The Pintail or Northern Pintail (Anas acuta) is a duck with wide geographic distribution that breeds in the northern areas of Europe, Asia and North America. It is migratory and winters south of its breeding range to the equator. Unusually for a bird with such a large range, it has no geographical subspecies.
This is a large duck, and the male's long central tail feathers give rise to the species' English and scientific names. Both sexes have blue-grey bills and grey legs and feet. The drake is more striking, having a thin white stripe running from the back of its chocolate-coloured head down its neck to its mostly white undercarriage. The drake also has attractive grey, brown, and black patterning on its back and sides. The hen's plumage is more subtle and subdued, with drab brown feathers similar to those of other female dabbling ducks. Hens make a coarse quack and the drakes a flute-like whistle.
The northern pintail is a bird of open wetlands which nests on the ground, often some distance from water. It feeds by dabbling for plant food and adds small invertebrates to its diet during the nesting season. It is highly gregarious when not breeding, forming large mixed flocks with other species of duck. This duck's population is affected by predators, parasites and avian diseases. Human activities, such as agriculture, hunting and fishing, have also had a significant impact on numbers. Nevertheless, owed to the huge range and large population of this species, it is not threatened globally. (wikipedia)
However, the Pintail is Red-listed in Ireland, due to a significant decrease in the numbers wintering in Ireland. The European population has been assessed as Declining, due to a moderate ongoing decline.
This is a male (top) and a juvenile male or moulting male (bottom) in flight, taken while they flew across the causeway at Bull Island in Dublin Bay. It is a great place to go and watch the Pintail feed at close quarters. Such a beautiful duck. Another shot taken with the Sony system in the same session as the earlier posted Grey Heron.

Chinchero conocida como la ciudad del Arco Iris está ubicada a 28 km. al noroeste de la ciudad del Cusco, sobre los 3160 msnm., flanqueada por los nevados de Salkantay, Verónica y Soray. La vista desde aquí es impresionante. Chinchero pertenece a la provincia de Urubamba, departamento de Cusco
Chinchero, la población más típica del Valle Sagrado de los Incas, es una ciudad netamente incaica que los conquistadores quisieron "civilizar" para implantar su cultura, pero nunca lo lograron totalmente. Sus pobladores habitan las construcciones incaicas casi intactas, en el mismo lugar donde sus lejanos antepasados vivieron y formaron la civilización más grande y próspera de América.
En el Conjunto Arqueológico de Chinchero llama la atención inicialmente sus andenes, lo que permite entender que fue un centro de producción agrícola en la época inca, también se construyo un almacén y se doto a todo el complejo de un sistema de regadío muy eficiente. La historia cuenta que con la llegada de los españoles, Chinchero fue incendiada en 1536 por Manco Inca, en su huida hacia Vilcabamba, con el objetivo de no dejarles nada a los españoles.
Sobre el Palacio de Tupac Yupanqui los españoles levantaron la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Monserrat en 1607, con la finalidad de representar su sometimiento de forma simbólica. Su Altar mayor tallado en pan de oro y estilo barroco está dedicado a la Virgen de la Natividad. Sus paredes están decoradas con obras de Diego Quispe Tito el máximo representante de la escuela cusqueña. También hay trabajos de Francisco Chihuantito.
En Chinchero el pasado persiste obstinadamente, como si el espíritu de una cultura milenaria se aferrara en este lugar, negándose a desaparecer. Los pobladores nativos, ataviados con coloridos trajes típicos, bajan de sus comunidades los domingos y se aglomeran en la plaza principal para intercambiar sus productos. Ver a todo este grupo de gente de raíces culturales profundas, ajenos a todo signo de modernidad, resulta todo un espectáculo.
En la concurrida y colorida feria dominical de chinchero se puede encontrar objetos de uso domestico, algunos verdaderamente antiguos como los famosos textiles de chinchero. En este pueblo, con comunidades unidas se ha podido conservar un patrimonio vivo, inmaterial, de extraordinario valor, que se expresa tanto en la textilería como en las prácticas agrícolas y en una red de relaciones familiares y comunitarias. En los talleres de las asociaciones de artesanas se exponen diariamente todo el proceso del tejido, desde el lavado de la lana, hasta el producto final, se aprende de las técnicas de hilado, teñido y tejido.
Desde Chinchero se puede acceder a la bella Laguna de Huaypo y al pueblo de Piuray. Chinchero es reconocido también por ser un pueblo de talentosos artesanos textiles.
