Ο Θεός λέει:«...Με άλλα λόγια, η γη, το δέντρο, το φως του ήλιου, τα ωδικά πτηνά και οι άνθρωποι, βασίζονται το ένα στο άλλο για την ύπαρξή τους και φροντίζουν το ένα το άλλο. Το δέντρο προστατεύει τη γη, καθώς η γη φροντίζει το δέντρο· το φως του ήλιου μεριμνά για το δέντρο, ενώ το δέντρο δημιουργεί καθαρό αέρα από το φως του ήλιου και βοηθά να ανακουφίσει τη γη από τη θερμότητα του ηλιακού φωτός. Ποιος επωφελείται απ’ αυτό στο τέλος; Η ανθρωπότητα επωφελείται απ’ αυτό, σωστά; Και αυτό είναι μια από τις αρχές πίσω από τον λόγο για τον οποίο ο Θεός δημιούργησε το περιβάλλον διαβίωσης για την ανθρωπότητα και ένας από τους πρωταρχικούς σκοπούς γι’ αυτό. Παρόλο που αυτή είναι μια απλή εικόνα, μπορούμε να δούμε τη σοφία του Θεού και τις προθέσεις Του. Η ανθρωπότητα δεν μπορεί να ζήσει χωρίς τη γη ή χωρίς δέντρα ή χωρίς τα ωδικά πτηνά και το φως του ήλιου, σωστά; Παρόλο που ήταν μια ιστορία, είναι ένας μικρόκοσμος της δημιουργίας του σύμπαντος από τον Θεό και η παροχή του περιβάλλοντος διαβίωσης από τον Θεό στον άνθρωπο....»

Fascinating History of the Soulsby Service Station from the NPS Web site.

he advent of the national road system in 1926 ushered in a golden age for mom-and-pop entrepreneurs. For Henry Soulsby of Mount Olive, it happened just in time. Mr. Soulsby followed his father, an Irish immigrant, into mining, but in the mid-1920s an injury forced him aboveground. Understanding that a national highway would soon pass through Mount Olive, he invested most of his life savings in two lots at the corner of 1st Street, now called Old Route 66. With the balance he built a gas station.

The Soulsby Station is an excellent example of a house with canopy form. By the time Mr. Soulsby built his station in 1926, the leading oil companies had been hiring architects to design stations that would blend well with neighborhoods to minimize local opposition to the crudeness often associated with gas stations. Mr. Soulsby designed the building himself, taking into account these trends and blending well with the surrounding area.

Although the Great Depression soon began, the station thrived. America was broke, but it was still traveling. As Will Rogers would say, “We might be the first nation to drive to the poorhouse in an automobile.”

When Henry Soulsby retired, his children Russell and Ola Soulsby took over the station, a partnership that would endure until Ola’s death in 1996. Each was as adept as the other at pumping gas, checking the oil, and looking under the hood or chassis to detect and fix problems. Russell always had an eye for technology. During World War II, he was a communications technician in the Pacific theater. Shortly after coming home, he turned his experience into a second, simultaneous career--radio and television repair. He used an antenna on the roof of the station to test his work.

Route 66 was a great agent of progress and development, but its very success helped spell its doom. In the late 1950s, Interstate 55 began supplanting it in Illinois. In Mount Olive, the Soulsby Station ended up a mile away from the new thoroughfare. In 1991, the Soulsby Station stopped pumping gas but continued to check oil, sell soda pop, and greet the ever-growing legion of Route 66 tourists. Sending everyone off with a wink and a wave, Russell and Ola closed the doors for good in 1993 and sold the station in 1997 to a neighbor, Mike Dragovich. When Russell Soulsby died in 1999, his funeral procession took him under the canopy one last time. This time it was his friends’ turn to wink and wave.

The current owner, Mr. Dragovich, and the Soulsby Preservation Society began preservation efforts in 2003, removing vinyl siding, restoring the original doors and windows, and repainting the exterior. In 2004, the National Park Service provided grant support for restoration efforts. Today, the station looks essentially the same as it did during its post-World War II heyday. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

It was the reason why I got into storm photography. It has taken years of practice to capture it without a lightning trigger. Patients is the Key. But when it happens you have to be ready. It doesn't stay around for very long.

Had the equipment locked and stocked. Knew the storm was coming and wala... It took til August 2021 to do but finally some incredibly good and wicked lightning!

This was a Different sunset And Much well ahead of the time ,and at far ground still the brick field chimney exploring its Pollution to the nature, and destroying the beauty of nature but selfless nature still not being selfish to the Universe and still paying its regards and dutifulness at its own time,

I feel , we have a Lot to learn form nature and the selfless service to the universe as well.

Let we all save the NATURE, and stop POLLUTION NOW,

Εκκλησία του Παντοδύναμου Θεού

Μόλις τα λόγια του Θεού μιλιούνται, αναλαμβάνει η εξουσία Του

και ό,τι υποσχέθηκε, βήμα-βήμα γίνεται.

Όλα γύρω αλλάζουν, αρχίζουν οι αλλαγές.

Αυτά είναι τα θαύματα απ' τα χέρια του Δημιουργού.

Όπως την άνοιξη: λουλούδια ανθίζουν, χορτάρι πράσινο,

μπουμπούκια βλασταίνουν, πουλιά τραγουδούν· κόσμος στους αγρούς.

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού διαχρονική,

από μέρη, ανθρώπους και ύλη, απ' το τίποτα.

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού αφάνταστη.

Δύσκολο να εμβαθύνεις, να την αντιληθφείς.

II

Την υπόσχεσή Του αν πραγματώσει, τα πάντα σε γη κι ουρανό

αναγεννώνται κι αλλάζουνε, σύμφωνα με τις σκέψεις Του.

Την υπόσχεσή Του όταν δίνει, όλα γίνονται για να εκπληρωθεί.

Όλα τα πλάσματα τοποθετούνται στου Θεού το κράτος.

Καθένας έχει το ρόλο του, τη δική του λειτουργία.

Αυτό φανερώνει την εξουσία του Θεού.

Όπως την άνοιξη: λουλούδια ανθίζουν, χορτάρι πράσινο,

μπουμπούκια βλασταίνουν, πουλιά τραγουδούν· κόσμος στους αγρούς.

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού διαχρονική,

από μέρη, ανθρώπους και ύλη, απ' το τίποτα.

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού αφάνταστη.

Δύσκολο να εμβαθύνεις, να την αντιληθφείς.

Κάθε εκδήλωση εξουσίας είναι τέλεια παρουσίαση

των λόγων Του που δείχνονται, σ' όλα τα πλάσματα.

Όλα επιτυγχάνονται, με την εξουσία Του,

όμορφα, ασύγκριτα και αψεγάδιαστα.

Όπως την άνοιξη: λουλούδια ανθίζουν, χορτάρι πράσινο,

μπουμπούκια βλασταίνουν, πουλιά τραγουδούν· κόσμος στους αγρούς.

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού διαχρονική,

Οι σκέψεις, τα λόγια, το έργο, η εξουσία Του,

όλα μια εικόνα, όμορφη, ασύγκριτη.

Η γλώσσα δεν μπορεί καλά να εξηγήσει

της Δημιουργίας την αξία και τη σημασία της!

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού διαχρονική,

από μέρη, ανθρώπους και ύλη, απ' το τίποτα.

Η εξουσία κι η δύναμη του Θεού αφάνταστη.

Δύσκολο να εμβαθύνεις, να την αντιληθφείς.

Po Kok Primary School is a Buddhist whole-day aided school in Hong Kong.

The first Po Kok was established in Causeway Bay in 1931 by Lady Clara Ho Tung to give opportunity for girls to receive a free education.

In 1935, it moved to Tung Lin Kok Yuen, a temple in Happy Valley which is next to its present site and which is also the school's sponsoring body. The school has been aided since 1949.

In 1986, the school was named Po Kok Girls' Middle School (Primary Section). While the secondary School was relocated to Tseung Kwan O in 2000, the Primary school remained in Happy Valley.

In 2003, the school decided to admit boys, which changed it to a co-educational school and it was named Po Kok Primary School.

In 2006, Po Kok Primary School Incorporated Management Committee has been established.

In 2007, become one of the Non-Chinese Speaking Students' Designated School.

In 2011, Eighty years of school creation.

In 2019, Ms Lisa Yeung retired from her position as the School Supervisor and Dr Ernest Ng took over the role as the new School Supervisor.

In 2021, Ms Anita Lee took over the role as the new School Supervisor.

Today, Po Kok School is well known throughout Hong Kong and with its unique history and building structure, its quiet and peaceful setting, it is home to many students from all nations in the area.
