The building, located on the northeast outskirts of Toledo's historic center, most likely formed part of the almunia (fortress) built by Al-Mamun of Toledo, king of the Taifa of Toledo (1043-1075). Following the Christian conquest, the site was called the "royal almunia," which was still used in 1294, although by this time the Castilianization of the name "Huerta del Rey" (King's Garden) had taken hold. The name Galiana became popular from the 16th century onwards due to the disappearance of the authentic Galiana palaces, located in the Alficén complex next to the Alcázar.
During the Mudejar period, the north and south facades were rebuilt. According to Gómez-Moreno, at the beginning of the 20th century, when the building was in poor condition, the windows with lobed arches, the plasterwork of the framing—dating from the 14th century—and remains of paintings—which he considers to be earlier—were still visible in the rooms on the second floor. Few fragments of this decoration remain today, but Gómez-Moreno's testimony seems to indicate two renovations. First, the painted plinths and some of the plasterwork were completed in the mid-13th century. Later, John I donated this royal possession to the Jerónimos convent of La Sisla in 1385. Almost a decade later, it was purchased by Beatriz de Silva, who married Alvar Pérez de Guzmán in 1397. It was shortly afterward that the second renovation of the building was undertaken, as evidenced by the Guzmán and Silva coat of arms featured in the plasterwork.
Due to successive inheritances, the orchard was divided among various owners. The majority continued to belong to the Guzmán y Montijo family, while other areas belonged to the Chapel of Santo Tomás and the Brotherhood of Santa Caridad. After the confiscations of the 19th century, the House of Montijo acquired the undivided shares of the entities whose real estate assets were sold to the State. Empress Eugenie was interested in restoring the palace, which ultimately did not happen. As time passed, the site fell into disrepair.
It was declared a historic-artistic monument, belonging to the National Artistic Treasure, on June 3, 1931, by a decree published in the Gaceta de Madrid with the signature of the provisional president of the republic, Niceto Alcalá-Zamora, and the Minister of Public Instruction and Fine Arts, Marcelino Domingo y Sanjúan. In the 20th century, the Duke of Peñaranda sold the estate to Alejandro Fernández de Araoz and Carmen Marañón, who began the rehabilitation in 1959.

El edificio, situado en las afueras, al noreste del casco histórico de la ciudad de Toledo, muy probablemente formó parte de la almunia construida por Al-Mamún de Toledo, rey de la taifa de Toledo (1043-1075). A raíz de la conquista cristiana, el lugar se denominó «almunia real», aplicándose todavía en 1294, aunque por estas fechas se impone la castellanización de «Huerta del Rey». Por un lado, a mediados del siglo XIII se realizarían los zócalos de pinturas y algunas de las yeserías. Posteriormente, Juan I donó esta posesión real al convento de jerónimos de la Sisla en 1385. Casi una década después fue comprada por Beatriz de Silva, quien contrae matrimonio en 1397 con Alvar Pérez de Guzmán. Sería poco tiempo después cuando se acometió la segunda reforma del edificio, como atestiguan los escudos de Guzmán y Silva que figuraban en las yeserías.
Por las sucesivas herencias, la huerta se fraccionó en diversos propietarios. La mayor parte siguió perteneciendo a la familia Guzmán y Montijo, mientras que otras zonas pertenecían a la capilla de Santo Tomás y a la cofradía de la Santa Caridad. Tras las desamortizaciones del XIX, la Casa de Montijo adquirió las partes proindiviso de las entidades cuyo patrimonio inmueble enajenó el Estado, interesando a la emperatriz Eugenia la restauración del palacio, lo que finalmente no ocurrió. Conforme pasó el tiempo, el lugar fue cayendo en el abandono.
Fue declarado monumento histórico-artístico, perteneciente al Tesoro Artístico Nacional, el 3 de junio de 1931, mediante un decreto publicado en la Gaceta de Madrid con la rúbrica del presidente provisional de la república, Niceto Alcalá-Zamora, y del ministro de Instrucción Pública y Bellas Artes, Marcelino Domingo y Sanjúan. En el siglo XX el duque de Peñaranda vendió la finca a Alejandro Fernández de Araoz y Carmen Marañón, quienes en 1959 emprendieron la rehabilitación.

I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had missed a few of the other tornados that afternoon in Northern Yuma County. Coming from south to north I had to position myself correctly. Chaser Convergence was also in full swing so there were not may open areas to choose from.
For best pics of a Tornado and to be safe about it a storm such as this was moving North by Northeast... strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... Behind the RFD (Rear Flank Downdraft) It's all about timing, and I honestly didn't think it would produce a tornado til it was well west of my location. That was going to be the wrong guess... Though when I went due north of Wray I had a good viewing point but not in the safest location as you see.
I got lucky this day as...In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.
Staying as safe as I could I wouldn't bail till it was about a mile away then I would head north again to a safer / better viewing position.

Greetings Everyone, I haven't posted many new pics since last chase season and the 2020 Severe Weather Season is upon us. Looking for our first set of storms in the coming weeks and I'll be streaming live and of course some of the best storm photography one could ask for.
2020 Update...I've been revamping how I do things. One of those things is to go back and correct how I did my post processing of images. Several Years of over Colorizing over Saturation Adding color... etc. Yes I'm guilty of doing so and I have been going back and replacing thousands of images in hundreds of sets over these past few months here on Flickr my Fine Arts America Site.
The May 7, 2016 Colorado Tornado Event was by far one of my favorite chase days to date. I was able to capture the full genesis of a tornado. From birth to death. It was a quest of mine to do this in a photography medium. Epic severe weather structure, like once in a lifetime structure to capture. But post processing was a nightmare. The images came out well ... Defined but over colored over saturated etc.
Instead of replacing the images this will be a whole new set with a few hundred new images that I didn't post on the original set back in 2016. I've thought about re-editing these images for a long time and they are finally done. No Altercations what so ever. No Added Light, Color, Contrast.
I've brought them directly from RAW. Simply the way I should have done it in the first place!

Ο Θεός λέει: «Ας δούμε τι λέει το πρώτο χωρίο: “Και είπεν ο Θεός, Γενηθήτω φώς· και έγεινε φώς· και είδεν ο Θεός το φως ότι ήτο καλόν· και διεχώρισεν ο Θεός το φως από του σκότους· και εκάλεσεν ο Θεός το φως, Ημέραν· το δε σκότος εκάλεσε, Νύκτα. Το χωρίο αυτό περιγράφει την πρώτη πράξη του Θεού στην αρχή της δημιουργίας και την πρώτη μέρα του Θεού στην οποία υπήρχε ένα απόγευμα και ένα πρωί. Αλλά ήταν μια εξαιρετική μέρα: ο Θεός άρχισε να ετοιμάζει το φως για όλα τα πράγματα και, επιπλέον, διαχώρισε το φως από το σκοτάδι. Εκείνη τη μέρα, ο Θεός άρχισε να μιλά και ο λόγος Του με τη εξουσία Του ήταν πλάι–πλάι. Η εξουσία Του άρχισε να ξεχωρίζει από όλα τα πράγματα και η δύναμή Του εξαπλώθηκε σε όλα τα πράγματα σαν αποτέλεσμα του λόγου Του. Από τότε, το πρώτο απόγευμα και το πρώτο πρωινό δημιουργήθηκαν στον κόσμο που ο Θεός ήθελε να δημιουργήσει και ο Θεός είπε ότι αυτή ήταν η πρώτη μέρα. Η Γουανγκ Ζίνιουε και ο άντρας της έχουν ένα κατάστημα ρούχων, και ενώ στην αρχή προσπαθούν να δουλεύουν με ακεραιότητα και ευσυνειδησία, δεν βγάζουν πολλά χρήματα και η ζωή τους είναι πολύ δύσκολη. Αλλά όταν βλέπουν συναδέλφους τους που χρησιμοποιούν ψέματα και απάτες στη δουλειά τους να αγοράζουν αυτοκίνητα και σπίτια και να ζουν μες στη χλιδή, αποφασίζουν ότι δεν θέλουν να μείνουν πίσω. Καθοδηγούμενοι από συναδέλφους, ακολουθούν την κοινωνική τάση και αρχίζουν να δουλεύουν με ψέματα και κομπίνες. Λίγα χρόνια αργότερα, αν και έχουν βγάλει κάποια χρήματα, η συνείδησή τους είναι συχνά ανήσυχη και η καρδιά τους άδεια. Τότε, δέχονται το ευαγγέλιο του Παντοδύναμου Θεού για τις έσχατες ημέρες, διαβάζουν τα λόγια του Θεού, μέσω των οποίων διαπιστώνουν ότι ο Θεός αγαπά τους έντιμους ανθρώπους και καταφρονεί τους δόλιους και μαθαίνουν ότι οι έντιμοι θα λάβουν τις ευλογίες του Θεού. Ωστόσο, βλέπουν επίσης την κακία και το σκοτάδι στον κόσμο και φοβούνται ότι δεν θα μπορούν να βγάλουν χρήματα δουλεύοντας με ακεραιότητα, ίσως μάλιστα κινδυνέψουν να χάσουν λεφτά, κι έτσι συνεχίζουν να χρησιμοποιούν ψέματα και κομπίνες για να εξαπατούν τους πελάτες, γνωρίζοντας όμως ότι ο Θεός τους απεχθάνεται γι' αυτό... Έπειτα από αρκετές προσπάθειες και αποτυχίες, επιλέγουν τελικά να είναι έντιμοι άνθρωποι σύμφωνα με τα λόγια του Θεού , και με έκπληξη βλέπουν ότι λαβαίνουν τις ευλογίες του Θεού. Όχι μόνο ανθεί η επιχείρησή τους, αλλά και οι ίδιοι απολαμβάνουν την ειρήνη και την ηρεμία που έχουν οι έντιμοι άνθρωποι.
