"...The best way is with an old cliche.
It's simply the best way; is with an old cliche.
Always the best way is with an old cliche.
I'll leave it to the best way, it's an old cliche..."
My new backyard in Arizona is bordered by the Sitgreaves National Forest. The NF has the largest stand of Ponderosa pines in the USA.
The Apache–Sitgreaves National Forests are two 2.76-million-acre United States National Forests which run along the Mogollon Rim and the White Mountains in east-central Arizona and into the U.S. state of New Mexico. Wikipedia
As always, thanks so much for taking a look.

Winter night falls soft in the warm Swedish homes where all the family gathers for Lucia. Lucia is an ancient mythical figure with an abiding role as a bearer of light in the dark Swedish winters The annual candlelit Lucia procession on 13 December is perhaps one of the more exotic-looking Swedish customs, with girls and boys clad in white full-length gowns singing songs together. (Yes, I did this with my family and we have the pics to prove)

Winterset Hollow has closed but the magic remains. This sim was a real joy for us and a special place and we want to thank everyone that came out to visit. The visitor counts were extraordinary and we are blessed to have so many supporters. We will bring back Winterset Hollow again in December 2023 but not sure if it is possible to improve the magic of what we had. We have a new project coming, also something special and fun for everyone to enjoy!! More info soon. Visit us today at any of our other 4 regions now open:

My local pond was a hive of activity yesterday as the temperatures rose, we had the hottest February day since records began!
Situated in the South Downs NP, the hollow way to Halnaker windmill is almost glowing as sunset approaches.
Hollow Rock is another well known tombolo located just south of Grand Portage. I have been here a few times but never in the morning. The nice thing about February is that the sun will line up with the opening in the rock and shine through. It was fortunate that the sun was out and cooperated with us.
We weren't sure exactly the sun would be coming through so we had to make a last minute location change to get the sun just correct. Fortunately I was able to get double the fun with the sun with a sunburst. Another added plus we had our choice of spots since there were no workshops going on this day. :)
Das lässt tief blicken. Das Gelbgrün im inneren harmoniert gut mit den Blütenstempeln.
Open but not empty. Delicate colors inside.
For Macro Mondays - Pareidolia
Barnacle attached to a small rock.
Length, all three together, 17mm./0.66 inch.
Another shot of this gorgeous owlet.
We have passed this nest several times on our morning walk, without noticing it.
So what a surprise it was to see this little cutie staring at us in the early morning light.
He/she was quite distant and we did not wish to disturb the nest. We did however spend a few wonderful minutes watching before it hopped back into the nest hole.
So far this has been the only occasion we have spotted the youngster.
Tawny Owl - Strix Aluco
Esholt - Yorkshire
Once again many thanks to all those who view my photos and a special thanks to all who fave and comment on them. They are all truly appreciated and welcome.

Sunrise at Hollow Rock beach at Grand Portage MN.
Hollow Rock beach is a hidden gem. It is a 40 minutes drive north of Grand Marais, MN on highway 61. You need to look out for mile marker 140 and you will see Hollow Rock Resort sign about 1/2 mile after crossing mile marker 140 on the right.
