Have you watched One Man's Dream?

Whenever I am feeling low about my career in Disney or don't think I should keep up with my passion for photography and doing what I do, I make my way to Disney's Hollywood Studios and go straight to One Man's Dream. I take my time to visit the historic displays and challenge my Disney Trivia, but my main focus is to watch the show at the end of the gallery. The show gets me pumped up. It makes me realize that...

Which do you like better, California vs Orlando Tower of Terror?

I am fortune enough to have a great roommate who works at the Hollywood Tower of Terror. He is a blast to hang out with and I enjoy going to see him at work. Sometimes it's just to bum a ride home, but mostly because he's great at what he does. This particular night I was coming to get some shots... and then a ride home. I got off the bus and this was what I saw. I whipped out my tripod and boom got this shot with a couple others. I love the Tower of Terror here in Walt Disney World. The difference (of course I have to compare everything to Disneyland) between the Disneyland version is interesting. I love the queue and the riding into the 5th dimension parts of this one, but the boiler room in California combined with some of the effects and the drops, I am certain of, are better over there.

The angle of the Tower here is not as photogenic as in California, and it makes it a bit difficult to get a great shot, or at least of the main side. I'm pretty sure I can find an angle somewhere in the park, but I haven't been able to. Challenge Accepted! Just some fun tidbits about Tower that you may not have known. Expedition Everest is only 0.9 inches taller than Tower. There is no air conditioning on the right side 5th dimension corridors. And lastly, two of the chairs in the lobby are from the 1600's.

What do you think the story is here?

One of the things that people seem to miss as they adventure through Animal Kingdom is the little details. The roads have tracks in them of local types of tracks you would find, be it a bike or little car. In Asia the roads and building are just full of these little but profound details. As I was walking along I saw this walkway with backpacks and lanterns and next to the building was this bike. I had to wonder what the story was...

This is an armoured glove on display in Salisbury Cathedral. You can put the glove on to feel how heavy it would have been. Taken on an Olympus XZ-1 with the macro setting turned on. I chose a low position, as I could see the potential of the textures and range of tones for a black and white shot of the metal fingers. I've edited the JPEG in Google Photos and applied a heavy dark HDR filter, I've lightened it a bit, converted to black and white and applied a bit of sharpening and structure (similar to 'clarity').

The classic lines of the 1963 split window Corvette. Only this time, it's on at C6 model.

This is one of the heavily modified 2011 Corvettes customized by Karl Chevrolet. I love the color and the lines, I just can't get past the price tag. I guess my truck will have to do for now.

This was shot with a Canon 7d and 15-85 lens.

Which park icon is your favorite?

One of my first times in the Magic Kingdom fell on a full moon. I was surprised there weren't more people trying to capture what I saw. Then again this is not an easy shot to get when the moon is so bright. Even then trying to give the moon its full justice versus a crisp and bright foreground is also not easy to do. But I'm glad I got to get this photo on the day I did. Turns out that the full moon was something special. Had you stayed up that night to about 3 am...

What do you find to be magical that others take for granted?

I have very sensitive eyes, so I am usually wearing sunglasses during the day. I switched over to polarized lenses some time ago and never went back. One of the benefits of having polarized lenses is seeing thing that others can't because they are either squinting, or there is some sort of other light blocking their view. Sometimes what I...

Which Harry Potter House would Animal Kingdom fit in?

When I got here to Florida, I was told where I was going to be working. I was given a chance to work in one of the least visited parks of the Walt Disney World Resort, Animal Kingdom! The Hufflepuff of the 4 parks, for all you Harry Potter Fans out there. So I...

Is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad better in the front, middle or back?

I do not usually take photos with people in them, but when I do, it's because I saw an angle that had to be captured in the moment. Luckily I had my camera out while on the Liberty Belle River Boat as we were going around the Rivers of America. I only really had one chance to get this shot as the train was coming through. I made my HDR from a single shot. Although I was...

Don't you just love the Haunted Mansion?

I never try to hide the fact that I love the Haunted Mansion. I remember the first time I rode it as a child and was fascinated by all of the special effects. My Uncle Gary took the time to explain how some of them worked and instead of losing the magic, it made it that much more magical to me. He had even made his own copy of a bust that follows you. Ever since, Mansion has excited me. I even have...

Have you seen Enchanted Tales With Belle?

The other day I kinda got dragged into Enchanted Tales with Belle. I wasn't excited as much as I should have been, but I decided I should get into it for the sake of the children watching and participating. I got selected as a soldier and put my all into it. I had a blast. I love this show and can't wait to go again and see it from the audience perspective.

Getting my current position within the Walt Disney Company for my second college program was disappointment after disappointment. But because of some major self study to better myself as a person, I was equipped with skills to make the most of every situation. At first I was told I was going to be in attractions. This was low on my interest for working at Disney. I even called to see if they could get me Photopass again, and they replied with a "Take it or leave it" offer back. So I took it. So this is where I first applied the magic phrase, "How it this perfect for me?" Turns out, if I wish to extend (which I do), I theoretically have two skills (or options) for positions that would require minimal training. I am extra valuable.

Next, I found out that I was going to be working in Animal Kingdom. I am still a poor college program cast member and living in Florida (or anywhere really) is not cheap. I looked up the hours for the Animal Kingdom and the park closes most of the year around 5:00 pm. Hours are going to be hard to come by. I had to ask the question again. "How is THIS perfect?" Well, I am able to wander the parks freely after my shifts are done (with a change of clothes that is) and take pictures. This gives me so much time to focus on this website that I love and corresponding with you all.

This picture is the Tree of My Life. It reminds me every day that I can make a good situation out of a bad, simply by looking into it more. One of the greatest lessons you will find in this life is that things that happen are just events. It's us that classifies them as good or bad. Try spinning every "Bad" situation into a positive one and you'll be amazed with what you will find. Sometimes it comes quickly, others you'll had to really wonder if it would ever be perfect, but it always is. I love this picture and I know that the skies may be dark, but life grows stronger after the rain.

How is your current situation "PERFECT" for you?

What animal do you have to see at Animal Kingdom?

I was in Disney's animal Kingdom the other day and I stumbled upon this little area on the Oasis, right before going to Discovery Island. This part of Animal Kingdom was first designed to be a series of trails that would take the adventurer around to meet new animals and plants and all this with no maps. The issue with this is that it would take people forever just to...
