Beautiful gerberas. They are so photogenic with their simple forms and delicate, intricate centres. But like all flowers, they're fragile and only live if they're handled with care and looked after lovingly.
Here's the music I've chosen to go with them. Famous and wonderful faces, voices and harmonica playing here if you're of my generation - please right click and open in a new tab.

This is a glass swizzle stick. I used to have a collection of these and somewhere along the line they went somewhere else. So I now have a small collection of these again.

I think these are Clouded Agaric (Clitocybe nebularis) but if anyone out there can either confirm or deny (with a full identification) then that would be much appreciated.

Macro Mondays 26/9/16 theme Handle With Care
For this week theme I choose poison but with a Grimm brothers twist using the story of Snow White and the poison apple.
The scene was set up using Two small bottles (the largest being just over an inch tall) filled with a fluorescent liquid and Two very small crab apples,I first used a normal apple but it was just way to big for what I needed. The scene was the lit from above using a LED lamp and a black light was used to give the liquid that lovely toxic glow that poisons and toxins always seem to have in the movies ; )

This is an abandoned nest, bird family left to warmer climates. Unfortunately, some eggs never become birds.

Macro of a very small area of a crystal tea light candle holder bought in Upsala Sweden more than 15 years ago. Each of the larger 'bubbles' in the pattern is approximately 3/4" (19mm). The light from the flame is illuminating the crystal 'mounds' from the inside. The red bokeh in the background is a hand made red glass candle holder bought in Germany more than 10 years ago.
From Queen Elizabeth's 2016 Christmas message:
They ["ordinary people doing extraordinary things"] are an inspiration to those who know them, and their lives frequently embody a truth expressed by Mother Teresa, from this year Saint Teresa of Calcutta. She once said, 'Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.'"
And to all as this year draws to an end:
Best wishes for the new year.
Meilleurs voeux pour la nouvelle année.
Mis mejores deseos para el año nuevo.
I migliori auguri per il nuovo anno.
Bedste ønsker for det nye år.
Beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar.
Onnea uudelle vuodelle.
Beste Wünsche für das neue Jahr.
De beste ønsker for det nye året.

A 1.5mm high intensity laser beam that needs to be handled with care, it can burn! I used a small smoke machine to highlight the beam.
Happy Macro Monday!!
Hollow sea urchin shells can be very delicate and brittle. When they are alive, the sharp outer spines or spikes of some sea urchins can be toxic. In any case, we don't want to accidentally step on them and have our skins pierced. So handle them with care, dead or alive! HMM!
