Beaumont Grove is a new (to me) place for exploring! My first visit and I can't spend long, so unedited pic, but it is looking fabulous, so far!

Tall aspens in peak fall color growing on an Eastern Sierra hillside.
You might be wondering if the stream of autumn color photographs will end. Well, soon the aspen photographs for this year will likely conclude, but here in the San Francisco Bay Area and nearby there will still be “fall” color on New Year’s Day. So don’t be surprised if this is a continuing thread right on into the new year. Later the trees will no longer be aspens — more maples, cottonwoods, and various other hardwoods from the urban environment, the nearby hills, and even in California’s Central Valley.
This is one of those grove about which I think every year, “I don’t think there’s much else left to do with this subject.” And then, inevitably, it ends up as one of my subjects again the following year. This year I have a somewhat different explanation, as my third-week-of-October visit was later than usual for me. And it turned out that the conditions this year seemed to favor later aspen color in the Eastern Sierra. Consequently, this grove had some of the most striking color that I have seen in this spot, even though I was a good week later than usual.

This is an orange grove in Kefalonia, as you can see they are not yet ready to flower, but as soon as the weather improves they will be in full bloom!!
A Sunday Misc job to North Bessemer has just finished working Montgomery Truss in Grove City, Pennsylvaina and is now headed through Filer North on their way back to Greenville with the 867 and 905 for power. Filer North is the south end of the original CTC installation on the Bessemer which ran 42.9 miles to Meadville Junction. The signal mast here is among several in the area that appear to be recently painted and it's great to see this 70+ year old system kept up so well.

On the engine lead sits a pair of non-renumbered EMD GP60s, numbers 1963 and 1915. The 1963 is still its original Cotton Belt paint, but as of September 2017, it received a fresh paint of Union Pacific Armour Yellow.
On the siding is train MASCH, which just cleared the south end, allowing the southbound on the main to proceed south.

Amtrak 8 blasts through Grove City on it's way to St. Paul. I attempted to beat the train to Wayzata after this, but even though I was ahead of them from Litchfield to Delano, it beat me there anyways. Lesson learned I guess. Though a bit dissapointed missing one shot, I'm glad I got what I could. With Amtrak seeming to want to phase out the P42s soon, who knows when/if we'll see the Empire Builder in this form the next time it takes this route?

I love Oak Groves. This view was especially interesting to me, as each succeeding tree seems to be framed by the tree in front of it.
The colorful flags and containers on the ground mark new Oak growth. Visitors can wander among the trees, but are warned against trampling or trodding all over the marked areas.

The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is located in the village of Sagano on the west side of Kyoto, Japan. The path through the Grove is short yet immersive, and there’s something almost magical about the light filtering through the tall stands of bamboo. I captured this image during morning hours before the hordes of tourists arrived.

I'm not sure, but I certainly love this Aspen grove at the Tilden's botanical garden, Berkeley, CA.

The boom sections are capped and the head is in place. I just need to make the hook block, the counterweight and connect the boom ram to have a working crane.

A small grove of trees close to my house which I paid a visit to one evening last week.
As the season moves on and the evenings draw out we can see the sun setting more to the West North West now rather that winters South West, the season may have moved on but it`s still raining and blowing a gale. Many years ago there were a lot of farms in this area, and think there may have been something here back then as evidenced by the crumbling flint walls in front of my camera . Tomorrow a one off but something completely different
