So the bruises are from a new exercise class I started last month - pole fitness. I was inspired by a blogger I follow. She was not a small girl, but was strong, also a runner. And she loved pole dancing. So I tried it! I am the oldest in the class, the slowest learner, and I have some health issues that interfere. But the class is so interesting to me, and enjoyable. After each one I feel stronger. And I notice my confidence building with each class. Being OK with the current me - has helped take a lot of pressure off. It has been a fun experiment!

As a result of the grounding of Lea Interchange garage's Optare Metrocity vehicles, a range of different types were drafted in to provide a service on route 339. Here we see a 10.8m Volvo BZL ready to commence a part trip from Mile End to Leytonstone.

Dr. H.E. Kavishe of Kicheko, Wayan Vota and Jen Overgaag of Inveneo, assisted by a cadre of Kicheko technicians, installed a mix of laptops, desktops, LED projectors and related networking and power equipment at Naliendele, Kambarage, Darajani, and Kisiwandui Primary Schools, and Machakaeni Teacher Center.
The pilot deployment is testing technology configurations and the installation was used to train local engineers on Inveneo installation methodologies in preparation for the major ICT deployment to all schools, scheduled for early 2012.

It's a grounding system safety connection for protection of electrical and electronic equipment against electromagnetic, electrostatic interference or overloads.
And, they protect the life of anyone coming into contact with the electric current that can causer serious burns or death.
4508. After all she had survived in the Mediterranean, HMAS VOYAGER [I] would be lost to a grounding, while on a special mission to land 400 commandoes of the 2/4 Independent Company on Japanese Occupied Timor on Sept. 23, 1942.
The plan was to take out the 2/2 Independent Company already on the island fighting a guerilla war, and any Timorese refugees who needed to come. The operation needed a vessel something of destroyer size. Up to that pooint covert Timor operations had been mainly done by corvettes and smaller patrol vessels.
The grounding was a simple matter of bad luck. VOYAGER [LCDR R.C. Robison, RAN] had arrived and began unloading troops in the tricky waters of Betano Bay at 6.30pm. Deciding that the landing position was poor, LCDR Robison decided to move when a current surge swung the vessel stern-first into a sandbank.
Attempts to ligyhten the ship and move failed as her propellors ground into the sand. Discovered by Japanese bombers the next day [24th] VOYAGER severe attack, and it was decided to complete her destruction with demolition charges when the ship's position became hopeless.
The ship's company were picked up by corvettes HMAS KALGOORLIE and HMAS WARRNAMBOOL at 8pm the next evening. [25th].

4479. Since weather is so much a part of the atmosphere of things, we hope everyone has enjoyed these fireside reminiscences of HMAS BARCOO'S grounding at West beach, Gleneg, during the great 'hurricane' of '48.
BARCOO is again seen here being brought into Port Adelaide by the sloop HMAS WARREGO after the survey frigate was re-floated. She was found to have suffered no damage, having come ashore on a sandy bottom.
There was a history of HMAS BARCOO written ' HMAS Barcoo - The story of a Ship and her Ship's Company' by Robert McAuslan, published in 1995, but it is a scarce volume, and we have not been unable to access it. Maybe in time.
BARCOO was decommissioned on 21 February 1964, and sold for scrapping on February 15, 1972 to N.W. Kennedy Ltd of Vancouver Canada. She was scrapped in Taiwan later that year.

HMAS BARCOO sailed to Sydney under her own steam and had the following repairs done in the Fitzroy Dock, Cockatoo Island:
1. A/S Dome replaced.
2. Part of Port bilge keel removed, straightened and then replaced.
3. Bottom 25% of rudder removed and replaced.
4. Starboard propeller replaced, as tips were slightly turned.
5. All underwater fittings refitted.

The "Longone" already stripped four days after it's grounding on the rocks of Spirit's Bay, NZ.
According to the Northland Ages report on January 28th, 2010:
While the owner of this yacht tried to deliver people to the Spirits Bay Beach, gusty winds and a large swell sealed the fate of "The Longone".
And to add insult to injury, only one person on the beach offered assistance. No sooner was the yacht grounded on the rocks, did other by-standers immediately start looting. Taking anything from electronics to clothing and food. The paper goes on to compare the looters like locusts grabbing everything.
No one was injured and the yacht was insured and this is the important thing.
Another story was published in the same newspaper on February 7, 2010 with another side to the story from people on the beach. There is now contradiction to the original story and the chain of events.

The Postcard
A postcard that was photographed and published by R. Wilkinson & Co. of Trowbridge. The card was printed in Germany.
The card was posted in Winscombe on Friday the 16th. April 1915 to:
Miss Mayers,
'Hermosa',
Conway Road,
Paignton,
Devon.
The long message that was squeezed on to the divided back of the card was as follows:
"c/o Mrs. Pocock,
Bay Tree House,
Shipham,
Winscombe,
Somerset.
16/4/15.
Dear Janice,
I was very pleased to get a letter
from you yesterday & to hear that
you are all well, and that things
are going on all right with plenty
to do as there always is.
I am getting on very well & still
improving in health.
I went to Axbridge yesterday in
the morning, and in the afternoon
we went to Burrington Combe, a
place where the hymn Rock of
Ages was composed by the Rev.
Toplady - a nice old cleft in the
rock.
There were 18 of us from the
Hydro. Some of us walked round,
others in motor.
We boiled a kettle and had tea in
the open. The first they have had
this year, but they often have a
picnic in the summer, it was fine.
Glad to hear the soldiers are still
staying on.
I have not heard from Harold, I
expect his time is well taken up.
Glad to hear he has been home
and is well.
I should like you to see the hills
round here they are fine.
So I will conclude with love to all.

It is possible that the sender of the card was recuperating after being wounded in the Great War.
The Grounding of a British Submarine
So what else happened on the day that the card was posted?
Well, on the 16th. April 1915, British submarine HMS E15 ran aground at Kepez, Çanakkale, Turkey. The vessel was shelled by Ottoman forces while stranded, killing seven crew members including the sub's commander.
The surviving crew members were captured and taken to Istanbul where six of them died during imprisonment.
The Grounding of SS Eglantine
Also on that day, British cargo ship SS Eglantine ran aground at Filey, Yorkshire, England. There was no loss of lives, but the ship was a total loss.
The First Catapult Launch
Also on the 16th. April 1915, the United States Navy conducted the first aircraft catapult launch from a floating platform at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida.
'The Actor and the Rube'
The day also marked the release of the silent film 'The Actor and the Rube', starring Riley Chamberlin and Boyd Marshall. The film received widely positive reviews for its low-key humour and less reliance on slapstick comedy.

Frylock & Ezekial 2: Trip To Destin Florida was supposed to become a 2nd film releasing on Nickelodeon on September 19, 2007 but when nothing happened it got delayed & moved forward to June 18, 2021.

• This is the last film to feature Bieber Tentacles, Sandy Cheeks & Eugene H. Krabs.
• This is the second film not to feature Master Shake Meatwad & Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
• This is the last second film to feature a grounding.
• This time Squidward gets punished for laughing about SpongeBob and Patrick being gone.
