There's always one in every crowd, even in the critter world! Once this treasure-trove of mixed nut was poured on our steppingstone, I watched squirrel after squirrel run up, grab a nut, and then race off to bury it. Over and over.
But then suddenly this little greedy gut showed up and was trying to cram as many nuts into his mouth as possible! He might have had more success if he's stuck with the smaller nuts, but guess that walnut just looked too tempting!
Click in the image for a closer look at the two nuts this fellow it trying to cart off.
drained you!
My original, uncensored, very naughty xxx-photo you find here: slushe.com/DemiBeaulieux
For the falconeer (although here of course handling a vulture) this is no joke: a bird of close to 4kg coming in at speed, greedy for a snack. I think this profession requires a strong and steady left arm ...
It's amazing how fast these otters eat. They start with the head in within a minute everything is gone. After seeing this, I'm convinced they have razor sharp teeth. So be aware of these cuties!
A couple of weeks ago Dean Reen tagged me in the 'greedy' game.
"HOW TO PLAY! Post a picture of the doll you have most of or would like to own more of and tell us why you like that doll. Don't forget to tag your friends, and if you see this consider yourself tagged!"
I'm not sure if Tammy is the doll I have the most of but she's one of the most addictive dolls I have! I just want more (OK, I'm just generally greedy & want more of everything hahaha). I'd love a Tammy in mint condition, a Reliable Tammy & another Pos'n Tammy whose long bun/ponytail hasn't been cut off like the one I have.
Once again, pretty sure everyone I know has been tagged (or maybe I'm just being lazy!) but I'd love to see everyone's photos :D
I put out peanuts for the Steller's Jays and they always try to stuff two in their mouth. It isn't always successful but is fun to watch.
One for my friend Malcolm, and I can't think why I haven't uploaded this before? :)
JET968W, a bonneted MAN right-hand drive dumper heads off for another load during construction of the M25 at Iver, Bucks in 1984.
Pretty self explanatory. We held our Backyard Harvest Fest for our backyard visitors this past weekend. While most squirrels would get one nut and either run off and bury it or eat it on the spot, every once in a while we'd see a squirrel like this one grabbing two or three of everything possible and running off with the goods.
No way to know if it was the same squirrel over and over, or if we have several greedy guts but it was very amusing to watch him struggling with his load.
Best when viewed large. Just saying. *Click on the image*
" Why would somebody be as corrupt or greedy to bomb britain to get more profit from Opium? Is there any Bright-side to terrorism? I hope there isn't, because that would prove the immortal hatred and stupidity of Talibanee terrorists (Not just limited to Al-Queda). This whole war was started just like the other two. It happened over hatred from both sides, because of what started as trifle problem, became the majority and president of the problematic masses. And quickly advancing global warming isn't helping WWIII either. It's snowing half of the year in places like italy, and when it is't pea soup fog in the already blown-to-hell Britain, it's heavy sleet and snow. This means that soldiers from both sides are freezing their asses off and worrying about dying from both hostile fire and frostbite."
Let me manifest a way,
where materialism will no longer be neccessary for my existance and comfort in this self imposed and greedy consumerism fueled world that I have immersed myself into and amongst. Let me viusalize serving others to help them heal and have joy, peace and comfort, through my own healing...
In Bangalore or as it is called now Bengaluru you often have encounters with children like these. They are poor and live on the street but are laughing all the time, willing to pose and make your stay a joy. That's what I would like to share: greediness...., but for living a life.
the photo does not do this piece any justice , this piece is an acrylic on card, 10X25 cm, I will be doing a series of pieces in the style of this.......
soundtrack to this ....
I put some raw peanut out in the bird bath and the blue jays come and swoop them away to a tree branh and rip the shell away and eat the nuts. The naughty birdy was a little greedy.
Ahhh how I love these freaky goats & sheep. They make me laugh. Wanna laugh too? Imagine me by the side of the road, draped over a fence, ass in the air, dangling clover in one hand and a camera in the other... Yup. Funny stuff.
Feeding the greedy rhymed so well that I had to use it in the title :)
In reality, this was a very polite seagull, it only took what was clearly offered to it.
Everything happened really quickly, so this is a bit late but tells the story any way.
This was during our voyage to Solovetsky. As you can see, there is not any traffic on the sea. On our way to Solovetsky we actually saw more white whales (belugas) than boats!
The greedy Danbo wants my equipment, inspite of being a proud owner of a 5D and a gorgeous 70-200 lens himself! I guess greed is getting the better of him. Caught him red-handed trying to lift my heavy equipment.

A Grebe spotted at Lanford Lakes near Salisbury. Lucky to catch this one as it surfaced with a fish in it's beak just a few yards in front of the hide.

The Clock
By Charles Baudelaire
Impassive clock! Terrifying, sinister god,
Whose finger threatens us and says: "Remember!
The quivering Sorrows will soon be shot
Into your fearful heart, as into a target;
Nebulous pleasure will flee toward the horizon
Like an actress who disappears into the wings;
Every instant devours a piece of the pleasure
Granted to every man for his entire season.
Three thousand six hundred times an hour, Second
Whispers: Remember! — Immediately
With his insect voice, Now says: I am the Past
And I have sucked out your life with my filthy trunk!
Remember! Souviens-toi, spendthrift! Esto memor!
(My metal throat can speak all languages.)
Minutes, blithesome mortal, are bits of ore
That you must not release without extracting the gold!
Remember, Time is a greedy player
Who wins without cheating, every round! It's the law.
The daylight wanes; the night deepens; remember!
The abyss thirsts always; the water-clock runs low.
Soon will sound the hour when divine Chance,
When august Virtue, your still virgin wife,
When even Repentance (the very last of inns!),
When all will say: Die, old coward! it is too late!"
