Greedy Developers and poor Planning decision-making by Councils are the bane of Tasmania's heritage values. "Knock it down for a quick buck." No?! Think about a heritage listed 1800s house and foundation stones deliberately demolished without permit by "Darko", who basically got a slap on the wrist, just so he could build four town-houses.

And, the Kodak building will be converted into apartments.

I had some time to kill, last night, so took this photo after dinner.

I brought three prime f/1.4 lenses to do some night photography, but only took this photo and repeated it with my 35mm Nikon F, loaded with Kodak TMax.

Though it was unnecessary, I layered one photo on top of another, both processed two different ways, then reduced Opacity of the photo placed on top.

The detail is stunning. In fact, I reduced Sharpness, which is counter intuitive.

They're bully-boy gluttons.

I’m sure that if I hadn’t been away from home I’d have come up with something better and spookier .

too greedy, or too impatient. To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience, patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea."

~Ann Morrow Lindberg, Gift From the Sea

With the current this 3rd lockdown in place, the starlings coming to the feeder makes for a good subject. I am planning to set different scenes in the garden to vary the type of photographs I can get. The challenge is to make do with the small garden.

Little surprise

Day 140 2015

The sun was back today and the cold wind had dropped so i actually finished my decking and spent an hour watching this greedy little fledling and its three sibblings keeping mum and dad busy keeping them safe and well fed,

outfits from Solange, poses and props (modified) from LAP

It's really well known that squirrels from Central Park in New York are super friendly and not scared of humans at all. But I got the same feeling when I visited the Grand Canyon actually. This cutie was a very greedy one, constantly around me trying to steal my snacks! Luckily I had some nuts in my bag so he got his treat at the end :) maybe he smelled I had some haha, smart smart! 😉

Bored of my puffin shots yet? I had planned to go out for sunset but the weather has put a stop to that idea :o(

“O Indra, destroy all those lustful people behaving like birds.... angry ones behaving like wolves.... greedy ones behaving like vultures.... enticed ones like owls..... arrogant ones like eagles and the jealous ones behaving like dogs.”

(Atharvaveda)

The Atharvaveda is a sacred text of Hinduism, and one of the four Vedas, often called the "fourth Veda".

It is considered by many to be as dark and secret knowledge, pertaining to the spirits and the afterlife.

Once again I am working on the catalogue of our new collection for next winter.

Recently I took this picture of Anand, our favourite model, at the upper terrace which is on the top of our office where I always find a nice natural light.

The style of this woolen throw is inspired by the Mughal designs (RED HALO - Winter 2009-10).

This wee Blue Tit already had a sunflower seed clutched in it's feet but was still demanding more. It actually ended up dropping the one in it's feet while the bedraggled parent was going back and forward to the feeder like a wee yo-yo.

I have taken to feeding him now ...have become quite attached to my Orb spider friend. It's what photography does to you !

Today it was two freshly swatted flies and some other insect pitched at the web. It was fascinating to see him retrieve and prepare these for his meal !!

At the feast of SUKKOT, Jews are commandment to take 'The Four Species': (a) the fruit of a citron tree, (b) a ripe, green, closed frond from a date palm tree, (c) boughs with leaves from the myrtle tree, (d) branches with leaves from the willow tree.

Towards the feast dedicated markets are opened in which the four species are sold. The market in Me'ah-She'arim is closed at exactly 2:00 pm before the feast. At this time the merchants _must_ cease selling their stuff.

What you see in the photo is people falling on the stands, trying to grab the 'commodity' that is left; trying to grab as much as they can, much more than they need.

As a photographer, it was a wonderful opportunity for me (after a long dull session). As a human, it was a sad one: seeing the 'less noble' sides of our race…

Following some of the comments, I am willing to hypothesize that evolutionary this behavior had an advantage: If you are not sure that tomorrow you'll have enough, it might be rational to grab today as much as you can. My dog, for example, can eat much more than it needs, to an extent it would vomit some of what she ate, as her stomach will not be able to hold it (this is what it did when we forgot one-day meat in a place that was accessible to it…). The reason we may overweight is that our body stores surplus food, in the form of fat.

We had 2 desserts each!! the waitress was smiling at us :p gained much weight during our holiday!

I'm not a huge fan of this photo; it just seems quite busy, but I was so impressed by the amount of pollen this little guy had collected, I had to show him off.

Is anyone else having problems with viewing photos? For some reason, most of my contacts' newest photos aren't showing up for me. I'll try and visit everyone later on tonight. Hopefully by then Flickr will be behaving.

Edit: Problem solved. Seems it was my browser misbehaving, not Flickr. Restarting did the trick. Sorry for assuming the worst, Flickr!

" Hey, Danbo! Where do you think you're going wiht MY cookies???"

Competition is hard at home : you should not turn your back to your packet of cookies!
