Greedy Robin grabbing two suet pellets at a time! Very difficult to get these shots. 80% of the frames don't have a bird in them as they are so fast!

An imposing guy, but very kind and very greedy. I was difficult to take his picture because he was always against the fence to beg for treats.
If you look closely, you can see this little squirrel must think he's a chipmunk by the way he's shoving those peanuts into his mouth!
Most squirrels show more "table manners" by eating one nut at a time. But every once in a while, there's a greedy gut who grabs those nuts by the pawful.
But maybe I'll cut him some slack this time, since it's been a while since I've put out some Goodie Bowls, and this may be the first one he's ever seen!!

Once upon a time in a forest there lived a greedy leaf who decided he wanted all the colours of autumn to himself. So, one by one, he stole from the other leaves around him until he alone possessed all the colours of autumn. "Look at the magnificence and splendour of my colours," he boasted to the other leaves but they, bereft of their own colour, withered and died leaving the greedy leaf all alone in the forest. The greedy leaf reflected upon his selfishness and loneliness and, in sorrow and pain at what he had done, he too withered and died leaving the forest to slumber through the darkness of its winter.

The picture tells a lot of where I am at the moment. Yes, in the 'Biesbosch'! One of Holland's most beautiful National Parks. We came across this grebe with his lunch while entering this fantastic area. Watched the whole fish, that was still alive, go down, wriggling and all! Incredible! He must have an adjustable jaw or something! The Grebe didn't even belch... :-)
Although the weather was awesome the last two days, today we're stearing the "Tembo" back into the heart of the Biesbosch in the pouring rain. Add that up to the fact that I just sent the sunhood of the 500mm to the bottom of the Biesbosch (MG if you dàre to laugh!!) while trying to shoot a Kingfisher that only pulled long noses from a mile away, I think I'll just pour myself a big glass of red...
This little guy was so proud of himself, scurrying around with two black walnuts. He couldn't figure out how to eat them without dropping one, though. So he just held on to both.
I've discovered this is about the only way to get a shot of a Swallow in flight - shoot when it's effectively tethered for a few seconds as the chick gets fed. This was really severely backlit with the nest opening in really deep shadow.
Their babies are getting big and will probably leave the nests soon.

Wagtail. Part of my continuing series with birds on boats, every wildlife image I see is usually a bird on a stick or in what is considered to be the natural habitat of the bird, I have decided to do one with a difference, all the birds in this series are all shot on or about boats.
The alpacas were enjoying the sunny weather today, but I had to shut them in their shed for a little while, so I could scrape their paddock with the tractor. I gave Hazel and the others a bowl of grain pellets, then closed the door. I could hear Hazel spitting food chunks at the others, as she wanted it all to herself. She's very nice otherwise, though, and lets me pat her on the back.
