I took this photo lying on the floor in a very uncomfortable position!
But it was worth the wait and witness this pretty meeting in pink and blue!

J'ai pris cette photo allongé sur le sol dans une position très inconfortable !
Mais ça valait la peine d'attendre et d'assister à cette jolie rencontre en rose et bleu !

Distributed from Africa and southern Europe through West Asia to South Asia. Very large, with long, "coat hanger" neck, big kinked bill, and very long pinkish legs. Plumage at rest whitish with pale pink blush and some deep pink often visible on closed wings. Flies with long neck and legs extended, when deep pink-and-black wing pattern striking. (eBird)

One of the hides at the Ras al-Khor is named the "Flamingo Hide", for good reason. The flamingos receive extra food here and so are present in the hundreds. Fabulous closeup photo opportunities. The bill is less pink than I would have expected in this adult, but apparently, it can lose colour while raising young, of which there were many in this flock.

It is found in parts of Africa, southern Asia (Bangladesh and coastal regions of Pakistan and India), the Middle East (Turkey, Israel, Lebanon) and southern Europe (including Spain, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Italy and the Camargue region of France). The most northern breeding spot is the Zwillbrocker Venn in Western Germany, close to the border with the Netherlands. In Gujarat, a state of India, flamingos can be observed at the Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary, Flamingo City and in the Thol Bird Sanctuary. They remain here during entire winter season.
