Nothing exotic. I just need to light up a screen or two. This one was pretty cheap, and I figured the fact that it was manufactured by the motherboard manufacturer could only increase the odds that everything would actually work after I snapped it together.

This is my final piece for the first bit of Graphics for As-level! I was really stuck when we started this project, because we had to design a label for another person, and she's totally different to me! You can see how tired I am in these photos too, haha.

Jane Grossenbacher, photographer and printmaker, was recently given a Sturges etching press by artist Phyllis Taplitz. In October '07 John and Sam Sullivan, Keith Bjorkman and Jane very carefully moved the 1300 pound press from San Rafael to Logos Graphics, at Project Artaud in San Francisco. Last weekend, to celebrate the new press, Jane invited a few dozen friends to come make prints, under the watchful eyes of Jane, John Sullivan, and the other folks from Logos Graphics.
They had a wonderful new etching process that used non-toxic materials, and they showed us how to make photo etchings as well as intaglio prints. A good time was had by all, with the possible exception of the little dog who kept getting stepped on.
I was taking photos as well as making prints and lost track of who was who . . . plus, my grasp of the process was tenous at best. So I hope that some of the other participants can help fill out/correct the captions, by using the comments feature here.

Networked Graphics del 6 al 11 de Diciembre, es el primero de varios encuentros que se realizarán a lo largo de 2011 y 2012 en las sedes de los organizadores, en este caso en el medialab Worm de Rotterdam. En esta ocasión se trabajará sobre el software libre para gráfica fomentando un espacio de comunicación entre usuarios y desarrolladores. Los invitados a este evento son OpenClipArtLibrary, GIT, SVN, Identica, Mozilla Europe, Inkscape, Institute for Network Cultures.
