The nest was about 4-5 m (15 ft) to camera left, and this little goldfinch had just taken it's maiden flight. Mama took awhile to bring it some food, so it sat there and nodded off. Centre Wellington, Ontario. August17, 2022.

Interior wall graphics at McDonald's Restaurant

I decided to sacrifice this last rosebud of the fall season, when I saw it covered in aphids —seems like a good trade-off for a photo op. The aphids were in various stages of development, some with wings, (though not in this shot,) and also a few exoskeletons, indicating that they've been here long enough for at least one molt. This is a handheld shot using the Raynox 250 on my 105 mm Micro Nikkor Ai, with 32 mm of extension tubes, Godox TT685/N flash, with a DIY diffuser. Very late in the season... but there's always next spring.

An abstract shot of my old graphics card for this week's Macro Mondays theme of 'Handle with Care'. Circuit boards are notoriously vulnerable to static and are quite fragile. I used some cat toys to make an interesting background and a Canon EF100mm f/2.8L lens strapped to 52mm of extension tubes giving a magnification of roughly x1.47. 10 natural light exposures at f/5.6 combined in Zerene Stacker.
From earlier last year, the moon at 4:49 pm, Saturday (May 18/24).

Pushed probably to the highest limit.
This little experiment convinced me that the upper acceptable sensitivity for 35mm Tri-x and Diafine is ISO 1250 (ISO 1600 for 120 film, from my previous experiences), unless you really need a heavy grain and high contrast.
