Supra Boats (@SupraBoats) has pushed fun, easy, graphical performance control ahead with a new big screen VISION in-dash command center.
Supra Boats has made their immensely popular, feature-rich Video Information System with Integrated Onboard Network (VISION) even more user friendly and fun. As the epicenter of a powerful driver's area, the 2012 VISION adds industry leading viewing size to its list of customer-centric features. Standard in every Supra boat, the new 7-inch screen joins easily customizable user profiles that control wake shape and size as well as speed. Even in direct sun, Supra's VISION provides a user-friendly graphical interface for standard GPS chart plotting with tracking and depth, ZeroOff GPS speed control, SmartPlate adjustment, Gravity Ballast control, iPod® and iPhone® interfacing, live video viewing and playback, stereo control, full engine diagnostics with codes and more. Visit your local Supra Boats dealer and see the whole picture through the new VISION dash.

A testament to their commitment to refined performance, Supra’s VISION dash uses technology as it was meant to be utilized. This system actually makes high-performance water sports boating easier and more fun. Supra has improved your VISION with a new 7-inch high-contrast screen to allow boaters a better view of the boat's systems even in full sun. The increased size allows this screen to communicate a ton of information in a quick glance, but this is much more than a dash display. This graphical in-dash interface allows the driver to easily control every aspect of wake boating from the Supra SmartPlate's wake shape to the Gravity Ballast's wake size to ZeroOff's GPS-based speed. A costly upgrade in other water sports boats, ZeroOff is standard in all Supra boats.
Other surprisingly standard VISION features include GPS chart plotting, position tracking and depth. If you're boating on a big body of water or a lake where the shoreline changes with fluctuating water levels, VISION GPS always knows where you are. If you're unclear about getting back to the dock, use the built-in tracking system to return safely.
Days last longer in a Supra thanks to multimedia entertainment in addition to real-world functionality. VISION incorporates Clarion stereo control and speed-based volume into every Supra boat. The volume of this system can be set to automatically adjust noise levels based on the speed of the boat. So the tunes can be cranked when a rider is going off behind the boat and then automatically lower if the driver must slow to pick-up a fallen rider. Make your wake riding theme songs as personal as the ride itself by selecting a song or playlist from your iPod® or iPhone® through VISION.
Supra VISION also acts as a trouble-shooting console if you do encounter an issue on the water. Easily accessible engine and system diagnostics are viewable through VISION and displayed with codes.
Don't just go big, go big picture. Experience the new VISION dash in a 2012 Supra boat at a dealer near you.

Graphical House, Glasgow
One time home of the Graphical, Paper and Media Union.
The Graphical, Paper and Media Union (GPMU) was a trade union in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland between 1992 and 2005. Having been formed from the merger of SOGAT and the National Graphical Association, it claimed to be the world's largest media union, and had over 200,000 members working in the print, publishing, paper, IT and media industries.
Facing a decline in membership, in February 2004, GPMU opened merger negotiations with Amicus. In August 2004, results of a ballot of all members were released, showing 86% of members in favour of merger. The formal merger took place in early 2005, and GPMU became the semi-autonomous Graphical, Paper and Media industrial sector of Amicus. Amicus merged with the Transport & General Workers Union in May 2007 to form Unite The Union.

This graphical interface adds a new dimension in ease-of-use. Interactive activities, such as geometry zeroing, sample loading, and setting temperature, can be performed at the test station. Important instrument status and test information such as temperature, gap, force and motor position are displayed. The touch-screen also provides easy access to instrument settings and diagnostic reporting. A keypad, at the base of the instrument, allows for easy positioning of the measurement head.

A graphical experiment with a neon lamp at the roof edge of a petrol station. In fact, this is a HDR made of 3 single shots which I contrast-enanced afterwards.

Chinatown is a Chinese translation of the trademarks in a graphical way. It’s a carefully arranged series of artworks showcasing 20 well-known western brand logos with maintained visual and narrative continuity.
Chinatown reflects our branded world of the near future through Chinese letters with the classical neon sign style of China. It uses basic words for translation, such as “Caramel Macchiato” for “Starbucks” in order to maintain the visual continuity. By arranging the words this way, Chinatown pushes viewers to ask themselves what it means to see, hear, and become fully aware. Chinatown also demonstrates our strangeness to 1,35 billion people in the world, when you can’t read Chinese.
All of the brand logos are converted to neon style spot colours and line-based variations. Indeed, neon lights are not used as a medium but as a cultural symbol, which represent the aesthetic codes of China.

I'm not sure what it's telling me, but it looks nice. And, I suspect, that is all it's supposed to do :-)
(I found this explanation of the colours on another image:
Blue: for links (the A tag)
Red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags)
Green: for the DIV tag
Violet: for images (the IMG tag)
Yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags)
Orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags)
Black: the HTML tag, the root node
Grey: all other tags
All clear? Good.)
A wretchedly dodgy manual stitch in photoshop, I know, but what a sign! I would point out that the sign is itself slightly wonky and, like the building itself, not in great condition, so perhaps my dodgy composite is appropriate.
The building also seems to be known as SOGAT House - despite the sign appearing to be original - and dates to 1961-5. Designed by the Glasgow practice, Rogerson & Spence, the Buildings of Scotland states that it "blithely continues many jazzy mannerisms of the 1950s."

The electrocardiogram represents the graphical recording of the potential variations
that arise during cardiac activity.
An electrocardiogram provides information about:
• Heart rate
• The origin of the impulse and its propagation (conduction) through the mass of the myocardium
• The size of the heart cavities
• Heart position
• Extension and localization of an acute myocardial infarction (AMI)
• The effects of changing the concentration of electrolytes on the properties of the myocardium
• The effects of some drugs on the activity of the heart
• Operation of an artificial pacemaker implanted in a patient
• Represents the "gold standard" for the diagnosis of arrhythmias

Yahoo! and Maxis Further Partnership to Enhance Consumer’s Mobile Experience by Delivering the First Highly Relevant and Engaging Mobile Advertising In Malaysia
Yahoo! Becomes Exclusive Advertising Partner for Maxis’ Mobile Internet Service
KUALA LUMPUR, June 17, 2008 – Yahoo! today announced a strategic mobile advertising partnership with Maxis Communications Berhad (Maxis), Malaysia’s leading mobile operator. In this partnership deal, Maxis is set to carry a variety of innovative graphical advertisements on its wap portal - The Maxis WAP Portal, that is exclusively sold and served by Yahoo!
Today’s announcement builds on continued collaborations between Maxis and Yahoo! to develop and enhance the mobile Internet experience. In June last year, the two companies announced and have subsequently launched, the industry leading mobile search experience, Yahoo! oneSearch on the Maxis WAP Portal, providing a search experience that delivers instant answers and relevant information to consumers without having to scroll through a series of Web links.
Mobile advertising is revolutionizing the market by allowing advertisers to deliver highly targeted messaging to consumers on mobile devices, and providing the opportunity to adopt unique and innovative marketing campaigns through mobile graphical advertising.
As mobile Internet pioneers, Yahoo! and Maxis will combine their expertise in the industry and knowledge of consumer habits, enabling leading brands to offer consumers targeted advertising specifically created for the mobile environment. Mobile advertising allows consumers to interact and engage directly with the unique marketing opportunities that mobile phones provide, and allows advertisers to deliver relevant information to a highly targeted and engaged demographic regardless of whether the consumer is in the home, office, or on the go. Maxis and Yahoo! intend to roll out the first mobile advertisements on The Maxis WAP Portal in the coming months.
The Maxis WAP Portal records an average of 20 million hits per month and offers over 10 million Maxis customers the largest catalogue of content-rich data services in Malaysia. Maxis customers have instant access to news, information, entertainment and access to mobile internet services on the Maxis WAP Portal.
"The mobile phone is poised to be the new media or seventh screen in advertising terms for the simple reason that it is the one truly personal media. Maxis, with our the largest subscriber base and the highest data usage in the country, is in the best position to give Malaysian advertisers the mass market base they desire,” said Kugan Thirunavakarasu, Maxis Head of Product Development and Infotainment.
“Our partnership with Yahoo!, the leader in mobile adverting, shows our commitment to enhancing our strategy and harnessing the power of mobile advertising to create new revenue models.” he added.
"The partnership with Maxis demonstrates Yahoo!'s continued focus on becoming the must-buy opportunity for advertisers and further extends our leadership in graphical advertising across mobile devices," said David Ko, vice president and managing director of Connected Life Asia, Yahoo! "Advertisers and our mobile operator partners recognize the value and unique abilities of mobile advertising and are positioning it as a core part of their digital campaigns. We are excited to work with Maxis to create superior experiences that deliver great value to advertisers and mobile consumers alike."
Yahoo! is focused on creating the monetization engine for the mobile Internet: enabling publishers to monetize their services, advertisers to reach targeted audiences at large scale and with impact, and by providing consumers with enhanced mobile experiences.
[ed. note: i suggest reordering the above... i.e., enable advertisers first, consumers second, then publishers]
