Fence.

On Friday.

There where the mystery of the dark swampy jungles meet the graphical appeal of the vegetal arches, there where nature, art and magic melt together, the Sedges are often there. During the summer of 2015, I shot 30 shades of Sedges, a plant that grows in humid places like swamps and jungles, to launch the 'Month of sedges' operation in september 2015. I personnally like those plants a lot for their graphical qualities and also for the tropical feel that emanates from them, altough the Sedges grow even in Groenland !

Shot taken at the Petite Camargue Alsacienne in august of 2015

Another in my little series of stripped down BW graphical images.

This one is our local jetty at Wello.

This was actually captured on the morning of a blazing colourful sunrise, who would have thunk it ;-)

Amazing what a little PP can do.

Many thanks for viewing and hope you enjoy.

To see the dusty disk around a young star, Webb blocked out starlight using a coronagraph, or mask. This is the first time that this disk, made of leftover debris from planet formation, has been observed in infrared wavelengths. Webb offers clues into both the history and composition of the disk.

The young star is AU Mic, a nearby red dwarf star with two known planets. Webb’s images allowed the science team to trace the disk as close to the star as 5 astronomical units (460 million miles) — the equivalent of Jupiter’s orbit in our solar system.

The ultimate goal for studying systems like AU Mic is to use Webb’s unprecedented sensitivity to observe giant planets in wide orbits, similar to Jupiter & Saturn in our own solar system. Webb’s observations mark new, uncharted territory for direct imaging around low-mass stars.

[Image description: This image shows two views of the dusty debris disk around the red dwarf star AU Mic. The top panel is the disk at 3.56 microns. The disk appears as a fuzzy, blue, horizontal line broken in the middle by a black region outlined by a white, dashed circle. In the center of that region is a white, graphical star, which represents AU Mic. The actual star is blocked out in this image by Webb’s NIRCam coronagraph. The bottom panel is the second view of the disk, at 4.44 microns. The disk appears as a fuzzy, red, horizontal line broken in the middle by a black region outlined by a white, dashed circle. As in the top panel, in the center of that region is a cartoonish star representing AU Mic. The actual star is blocked out by the NIRCam’s coronagraph.]

Not heavily downsampled because I was just testing some stuff (pyromantic effects, obv.) - but it struck me that this would make for a fitting homage of sorts.

This one's for you Kyo.

Yeah, I may have listened to some freak folk every now and again. What of it?

Escher in Het Paleis (Escher in The Palace) is a museum in The Hague, Netherlands, featuring the works of the Dutch graphical artist M. C. Escher. It is housed in the Lange Voorhout Palace since November 2002.

In 2015 it was revealed that many of the prints on display at the museum were replicas, scanned from original prints and printed onto the same type of paper used by Escher, rather than original Escher prints as they had been labeled.

Sferracavallo spiaggia is a portfolio of 8 photographs shot on the rocky coast of the town of Sferracavallo northwest of Palermo, Sicily. In the pictures, you can see the waves hitting the unique natural marble formations that are characteristic of the coast.

The pictures are 36x36 cm, made on 57x57 cm Saunders Waterford Hot press 300g watercolor paper. These are cyanotypes toned with tannic acid extracted from green oak gall nuts.

Kyoto Station (1997) is a major railway station and transportation hub in Kyoto, Japan. It has Japan's second-largest station building (after Nagoya Station) and is one of the country's largest buildings, incorporating a shopping mall, hotel, movie theater, Isetan department store, and several local government facilities under one 15-story roof.

Facts

• The grand staircase "Graphical Illumination" of the station has 171 steps of LED pixels.

• The futuristic glass structure replaced the old Kyoto station, which burned down in 1952.

• The station's wavy roof is a structure of braced steel truss supports and glass.

• Built to commemorate the 1,200th anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto as the Heian capital.

• The atrium rises 60 meters over the main concourse up to the roof.

• The giant escalator system takes passengers up nine storeys.

This girl sculpture seems a little shy to me. She won't even look into my eyes. She might be either sad, lonely or depressed. Or maybe this is just the graphical definition of mind blown. Sometimes it’s hard to handle some painful situation and we just lose our heads and go crazy and unstable.

This is not a beautiful PC game (fun though it is), but when I just opened up the PS3 version, I was happily surprised by the increase in texture quality in the PC port. It's very hard to go back (even if I do miss the Japanese voice-overs). For those who've never played this game: you can climb onto the bigger monsters in an attempt to find their weak spots. It's every bit as fun as it sounds. If you play on Hard mode this becomes something of a cross between a poor man's Dark Souls and a poor man's Shadow of the Colossus... very much not perfect, but quite hard to put down.

Secretly

What I did secretly,

you took part in,

you didn't notice – obviously,

because that was done in secret.

Whout you secretly knew

you didn't believe in,

perhaps you were conscious that – said

it steals away from you.

But had it stayed secret

its grandeur would still be there.

Which no one would have seen,

as secret as it was,

as secret as it was.

My heart was hidden

where it is at home,

this place cannot be seen – obviously,

because that is secret.

What I secretly felt

sometimes clearly obvious,

remained at the core just peripheral

where it was invisible.

What I secretly did,

you took part in,

you didn't notice – obviously,

because that was done in secret.

But had it stayed secret…
