When you have a zoom lens on your camera, will you shoot the same scene with different focal length? .May be not very often?

However when you have two cameras with different fixed lenses attached, you will probably try it.

I shot the scene with my Nikon and 35mm standard lens. After then I shot again with my Fuji compact X10 (see another shot in the comment box).

Different perspectives (in different positions) do give you a little different sense of everything.

Wish you a great Friday and my Vancouver friends a great long weekend!

Graphical reflections

Quite like the trees, not totally sure about the wedge of foreground. That said overall I quite like it.

The wedge might grow on me, its quite graphical.

Late February isn't the best time for invertebrate photography in Stockholm Sweden (or any part of Sweden really), so I decided to cheat a little and together with my son, I went and visited The Haga Ocean butterfly house on the other side of town.

We had a fun day both there and afterwards a visit to the Swedish Museum of Natural History. Flash photography isn't allowed here so I had to get by with natural light which was a bit of a challenge - but fun.

Anyways, this is a dirce beauty (Colobura dirce), also known as the mosaic or zebra mosaic, one of the smaller species they had around - but still very pretty.

Hokusai (1760-1849) was a Japanese painter and graphical artist. His work influenced European artists, e.g. Vincent van Gogh. The woodblock print "The Great Wave off Kanagawa", from his series "Thirty-six views on the mount Fuji" is one of his best known works. I've wanted to recreate it in Lego for some years, and with the Kockice lug organising a contest around Achievements of the Far East I could not resist the temptation any longer.

I realise it's been done before, usually as a 2D mosaic, for example by Nathan Sawaya and Alanboar Cheung. But I wanted to build a 3D version, with the waves having claws, like the adorable one from Mike Dung, only bigger and more detailed.
