The Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is a 158-acre (64 ha) botanical garden and outdoor sculpture park. It has a rather huge tropical conservatory, extensive Japanese garden, and winding paths that combine the natural and the art world by mixing the Meijers' sculpture collection into the garden landscape. Wildflowers in Paradise. The Paradise area is one of the most famous and visited areas of Mount Rainier National Park. Mount Rainier the highest peak of the Cascade volcanoes, rising 14,411 feet above sea level. It is also considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in North America. The statue of Athena was finally unveiled in the Nashville Parthenon in 1990 and gilded in 2002. Created by Alan LeQuire, at nearly 42 feet high it's the tallest the indoor statue in the the Western Hemisphere. Centennial Park was the site of the 1897 Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition. Victorian-style Christmas tree. The home of Benjamin Harrison, 23rd presdient of the United States (in office from 1889 - 1893). Most of the house is occupied by furniture and aritifacts that belonged to the Harrison family. The abandoned and crumbling power house ovder the Little Patuxent River at historic Savage Mill has been left to ruin even as the rest of the mill was reborn as a unique shopping center. Savage Mill started life in 1821 as a cotton mill in Savage, Maryland. (Nathanael Miller. 05 May 2018)

I lived in Tallahassee from 1992 - 1997. I interned at the Museum of Florida History in 1994, and then got my first post-FSU job there from 1994 - 1995 when budget cuts slashed a number of state jobs. The museum was opened in 1977 and is housed in the R. A. Gray Building behind the state capitol. One of my early jobs was cataloguing and recording the condition of several Civil War flags before sending them for conservation, the most rare being the 5th Florida regimental flag. Other exhibits I regularly cleaned, such as the case for the builder's model of the battleship USS Florida and citrus packing house. The Doolittle Cups. Commemorative cups used by the Doolittle Raiders during their reunions. When a member died, their cup was turned upside down. Today only one raider remains alive. It commemorates the 1836 Battle of San Jacinto in which Texas won its independence from Spain, and its base contains a museum of Texas history, and the top of the tower contains an observation deck. The Great Salt Lake in Utah is the largest remnant of Lake Bonneville, a prehistoric lake the once covered most of Utah and parts of Idaho. The Great Salt Lake covers an average of 1,700 square miles, but its water level fluctuates significantly. A railroad causeway across the lake's center creates differing levels of salinity in each half, resulting in the northern half of the lake taking on a reddish hue and the southern half looking more blue. The Quarterdeck flags and well deck fragment from USS Ponce (LPD 15) at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl Crater. The flags and fragment are held by Ponce veterans FC1 Joe Saxon and MCC (Retired) Nathanael Miller. Joe and I were on Ponce together from 2010 - 2012. Ponce was in commission from 1971 - 2017. Albus the Crab at the birthplace of James T. Kirk. Riverside is the official "future birthplace" of Star Trek's legendary Capt. James T. Kirk. The town has a stone monument at the site of Kirk's future home, and even an official starship named USS Riverside..

Founded in 1881 by 17-year-old Albert Friedrich. Friedrich took antlers in exchange for drinks during the saloon's early days. Teddy Roosevelt frequented the Buckhorn while mobilizing for the Spanish-American War, and his bison horn chair and field desk are on display.
