Two Medicine Valley. Hiking along the north bank of Medicine Lake, we saw a good crop of bearberries (the red berries in the foreground) - but no black bears.
Prairie storms can move quickly, but you can usually see them coming from a long way off. This image was taken from a butte in the West Block of Grasslands National Park.

The aircraft stayed in Canada during its career and is still flying in 2012 for Air Tindi of Yellowknife
Austin Airways was a passenger airline and freight carrier based in Timmins, Ontario. It was Canada's oldest airline and started service in 1934. The home base was Timmins and it operated many duties in addition to passenger and freight services. Over the years, scheduled services served over 40 cities, including some destinations in the United States. In 1973 it merged with White River Air Services but continued to operate as Austin Airways. In June 1987 it merged with Air Ontario.

Huckleberries along trail. Used as both food and traditional medicine. We enjoyed delicious huckleberry ice cream (too much!), soda, jam and candy.
