The gingerbread village is a Christmas tradition at the Henry Ford Museum. The buildings are made from a wide variety of candies and other edible materials (for example, pretzels for log houses) and many are replicas of the buildings in Greenfield Village.

Homemade Gingerbread

Comfort Food

1cup Molasses

... 1/2 cup Butter

2 1/3 cup of flour

pinch salt

3/4 tspn Baking soda

1 tsp ginger

1tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp cloves

1 cup sour cream

heat and stir Molasses and butter in Microwave, then stir in sour cream, cool

Mix flour, salt, soda and spices

Mix together

8x8 pan 350 for 35 minutes
