Rips Licorice Bite-Size Pieces are used to form the window shutters, the evergreen tree, and the poinsettias flowers. A Blue Raspberry Rips Licorice Belt forms the door. EIFFEL bonbons are used to edge the landscaping.
I made these for my hubby, Arnie, today. He's been very patiently waiting for some cookies of his very own, so I baked him up a batch of gingerbread. I am almost positive they will be gone by morning!
I bought a gingerbread house kit on clearance after Christmas, thinking we might decorate it for Valentine's Day (didn't happen). Decorating during mid-winter break at the end of February, we decided to make it a leprechaun house!
Our family spent the evening decorating gingerbread house. Each person got their own to decorate. Two people chose Zombie houses.

The mobile and traveling bakery hit the Festival of Lights in Riverside. That gingerbread was good — ! Beautifully spiced!
Sample one for my classroom. Doesn't represent me........rather, my husband.
Quite a blurry shot, gotta' view large to see any of the info on the worksheet. (Ugh, even then it's a bit blurry.)
The stripes on the arms and legs represent siblings.....obviously, for my young students, they usually don't have any stripes or only one or two on their gingerbread people.
It's always amusing to see the shocked looks on their faces when they discover my husband has 7 siblings. =)

Today in school, Savanah's class made gingerbread houses (actually, it looks to be more of a graham cracker house, but I digress). This was what Savanah came home with. It may not be the most structurally sound building ever built, but what it lacks in proper structure it more than makes up with in taste.
She was very proud of her creation and put in a lot of effort and creativity. She even included little gumdrop people with M&M heads and red and green frosting bushes out front. She is my very own little architect in training. I'll have to remember to guide her towards another profession being that I've had experience in the field. I am, however, amazed and proud (as per usual) of the creativity she showed. The little gumdrop people with M&M heads were my favorite (creatively and in taste), unfortunately, when I got around to shooting this, most had lost their heads or had been eaten.
