Getting really tired with my workshop for the past three days, it'll be over soon, I'm both happy and sad with the fact...

In my quest to find a cheap replacement of my Trioplan 2.8/100, I discovered another slide projector lens. The Rodenstrock--Splendar 2.8/100 with lenses made of glass in a steel tube (all others I had so far were made of plastic) seems to be a good choice. It has the same focal length as the Trioplan and is also Cooke triplet construction. A big difference is that the bubbles are getting ovoid when away from the center.

Along The Narrows in Zion National Park, Utah.

A hike through The Narrows requires hiking in the Virgin River. The water depth varies throughout the trail, from ankle-deep, knee-deep to chest-deep, depending on the river's flow.

Check the weather forecast and flash flood potential before you start the hike in The Narrows. Flash flooding is a real risk in The Narrows.

MS "Volharding" in the Danube loop.

Unfortunately the weather was not ideal on our trip to Hungary, but we did a break and stop for lunch on the terrace of the Hotel / Restaurant "Donauschlinge". The river Danube makes two 180° U-turns here.

In the next days I'll look at your work from the last weeks and will do a notice here and there and incidentally edit 600 photos from Hungary, but may take some time ; )

This wall garden was in Parkdale, the west side of downtown Toronto.

Pizza restaurants go through dozens of these cans every week, just ask. The restaurant cans are much larger than anything you would buy yourself and recycle - these cans are 1 gallon, the size of a can of paint.

Painted with rust paint these looked pretty good for two years, the third year I did touch ups on the rust that was showing.

Kinda toxic process - not recommended for edibles, but oh so gorgeous for flowers. Rust paint comes in a dozen colours these days!

The cans are attached to the wall with wire. (Check out a close-up photo and also the overall look of the sidewalk container garden)

HOW TO:

----------------------------

First, punch two small holes near the top of the can with a nail or screw. Use a piece of wood to support the edge of the can, position a nail on the metal, and hit with a hammer. The metal of the can is pretty soft. Punch TWO holes to help the can hang straight vertically.

While you're at it with the nail and hammer, turn the can upside down and punch some holes into the bottom if you have not done so yet.

Next, use a regular drill bit to make holes in the wall. (Brick is pretty soft, the mortar even softer.)

Hammer in a drywal plug and screw in a screw with about a 1/2 inch sticking out. (The holes can be easily filled with colourmatching silicon putty when the cans are removed.)

Cut a piece of wire, bend into a squared off loop shape, and thread from the outside to the inside of the can.

Wrap the wire around the screwhead in the wall just once or twice, and position the wire ends behind the can. Straighten the can to hang vertically and screw the rest of the screw length into the wall to tighten on the wires.

The English phrase 'get lost' is sometimes used as a rude way of telling someone to 'go away'. Another use - often using the past-tense - means someone was 'unable to find their way'. For others still, this phrase instills excitement and maybe even the start of an adventure: historically speaking, most new places were discovered by someone who 'got lost'!

For those who are not feeling so well today.

After the death of his mother (Rachel), Milo is with the female, Dafina, who has taken a key role as caretaker. After spending time in the open area, Dafina carried Milo into the woods to explore and play. Other females also go into the woods with them. Milo’s relationship with Dafina is not new. As Rachel’s health deteriorated, Dafina started to take on some of the maternal responsibilities, which have also been shared by other females in the colony.

We were getting a little concerned that the Scot may have failed with such a long delay for the 12.30 departure. Especially when two diesels were seen moving down to Grosmont station after being started up. A quick check on the Grosmont station webcam revealed the Scot in place and ready to move off. The delay worked to our advantage though with the sun breaking through nicely and here we see 46100 working past Esk Valley cottages.

I got my studio lights, and this is one of my first tryouts, the picture is not that wow its nothing much, I need a lot of practice to get used to this kind of lighting, its very hard and its not as easy as it looks. Hopefully I'll try my best to capture new stuff and improve my self in this kind of photography.

For the most part; I love landscapes that show everything. Which is why the fish-eye works to my advantage. However, sometimes I love a compressed shot filled with detail.

This was the last shot I took at Buckingham Fountain on the third Out of Chicago photowalk.

Please check out my latest post on "Get Buck!" at Lost in Context for more photographs and details. Thanks for viewing and stuff.

I shot this picture thinking about a technique that I heard Annie Leibovitz talk about and how she always tries to tell a story in the photographs that she takes usually focusing on a subject and sort of "explaining it" on the background.

I tried taking that idea , shooting the bride's shoes as my subject and showing her on the background while she was getting ready to use them. I hope you guys can see the story i see when i look at this photograph.

Verdin are only 3.5–4.3 in (9–11 cm) in length slightly larger than an Anna's Hummingbird). Here a juvenile is getting its balance on an Agave blossom. Earlier, I watched this little one being fed by its parent within the Ocotillo (see photo below.)

This shot was taken from our sliding glass doors using our house as a hide. The agave is about 40 feet (12 m) away, so I had to use a 2X teleconverter. As this was shot later in the day, unlike the previous post, I did not use a flash on this shot.

The 1980s, when beer was cheap and love was free :)

One of my 'found moments' on the streets of London.

Urban Spaces Scheme It was 1987 and I was enjoying post-student life in London, working on an environmental project at North London Polyechnic. Two of my friends had just got engaged - we went to the pub to celebrate :)

I was experimenting with some very fast and grainy Kodak Monochrome film at the time, to capture the atmosphere of dark and dingy pubs! ASA1600 as far as I can remember.
