Along The Narrows in Zion National Park, Utah.
A hike through The Narrows requires hiking in the Virgin River. The water depth varies throughout the trail, from ankle-deep, knee-deep to chest-deep, depending on the river's flow.
Check the weather forecast and flash flood potential before you start the hike in The Narrows. Flash flooding is a real risk in The Narrows.

MS "Volharding" in the Danube loop.
Unfortunately the weather was not ideal on our trip to Hungary, but we did a break and stop for lunch on the terrace of the Hotel / Restaurant "Donauschlinge". The river Danube makes two 180° U-turns here.
In the next days I'll look at your work from the last weeks and will do a notice here and there and incidentally edit 600 photos from Hungary, but may take some time ; )

These were just part of a flower arrangement given to Paula while she was in the hospital a few weeks ago.
I got my studio lights, and this is one of my first tryouts, the picture is not that wow its nothing much, I need a lot of practice to get used to this kind of lighting, its very hard and its not as easy as it looks. Hopefully I'll try my best to capture new stuff and improve my self in this kind of photography.

For the most part; I love landscapes that show everything. Which is why the fish-eye works to my advantage. However, sometimes I love a compressed shot filled with detail.
This was the last shot I took at Buckingham Fountain on the third Out of Chicago photowalk.
Please check out my latest post on "Get Buck!" at Lost in Context for more photographs and details. Thanks for viewing and stuff.
I shot this picture thinking about a technique that I heard Annie Leibovitz talk about and how she always tries to tell a story in the photographs that she takes usually focusing on a subject and sort of "explaining it" on the background.
I tried taking that idea , shooting the bride's shoes as my subject and showing her on the background while she was getting ready to use them. I hope you guys can see the story i see when i look at this photograph.
Verdin are only 3.5–4.3 in (9–11 cm) in length slightly larger than an Anna's Hummingbird). Here a juvenile is getting its balance on an Agave blossom. Earlier, I watched this little one being fed by its parent within the Ocotillo (see photo below.)
This shot was taken from our sliding glass doors using our house as a hide. The agave is about 40 feet (12 m) away, so I had to use a 2X teleconverter. As this was shot later in the day, unlike the previous post, I did not use a flash on this shot.

The 1980s, when beer was cheap and love was free :)
One of my 'found moments' on the streets of London.
Urban Spaces Scheme It was 1987 and I was enjoying post-student life in London, working on an environmental project at North London Polyechnic. Two of my friends had just got engaged - we went to the pub to celebrate :)

I was experimenting with some very fast and grainy Kodak Monochrome film at the time, to capture the atmosphere of dark and dingy pubs! ASA1600 as far as I can remember.
Scanned from the original negative, with no digital restoration.

...I think the message is clear, right!? ;)

Before I got down to being arty, typically I have a few test images to get the settings and framing correct. Mostly they are poorly arranged, sometime, like this time, these test images have a charm of there own and are worth posting.
I live in Hokkaido. It is only about 150 years old as a modern territory of Japan. Because of that, it is missing the deeply rooted culture, especially represented by these old beautiful temples. Whenever I visit Tokyo, I try to find these gems. It helps me to remember the exotic side of Japan that I fell in love with, and I am able to get in touch with a quieter, more reflective side of myself.

A little playtime in the lightbox tonight. I've owned poor Getter Black for most of 2008 and have never taken a photo of him. He deserved the spotlight.
In-camera double exposure - one with flash to the top right, a second with flash pointed at the ceiling. Only photoshopping is the eyes, which I don't think I did very well...
