I have written the description for this 3 times and my computer keeps glitching and erasing it. I'll make this short and sweet this time since I can't trust my computer again. I was pushed by Doug (tagged to the right) to capture water drops. Took me awhile but I finally got my lighting and flash situated and this happened. I'm pretty happy with it, and glad I didn't have to go out into the cold to capture it ;) Hope you like it Doug!

Getting ready like this could really be effective sometimes!

Too bad I don't possess these abilities in real life though..

Just a stone’s throw away from Binalong Bay, ten minutes drive north along Tasmania’s Bay of Fires, is Cosy Corner. To say this little stretch of coast is one of my favourites, would be putting it lightly. From crystal blue waters to orange lichen covered rocks folding over one another along the shoreline, this place is an underrated slice of heaven.

Back in May I experienced the distinct joy of shooting some beautiful reflected colours, after one of the most intense sunrises I’ve ever seen, along this beach as the waves sprinted across the sand. Truly nothing quite like it.

Well, perhaps with one exception, the joy brought by cloning out the head of Alex Wise somewhere in the background of this shot…

The storm is getting a lot more closer I could see some lightning in the distance.

I'm up at night to get sticky!

I’m getting shy when you all are watching me. But I love when you’re watching.

Route 66 in Tucumcari, NM

Getting feather details on these all-white beauties can be a challenge. But get the right light and angle and the results can be very pleasing.

Finally something that doesn't look like it only took me five minutes to take and edit (even though it did, and that red light leak is not edited, btw). I really miss shooting during golden hour - I've got to get out there more often. Tonight I couldn't for long though, because our street ended up having a spontaneous party right as the sun was setting. :)

For those of you who remember me talking about my job interview the other day, I had another little interview and ended up getting the job. Just wanted to let you all know. Thanks so much for the sweet wishes and prayers! It means the world.

Something that made my day today was receiving Erin Rena's book in the mail. I felt so proud and happy to read it, and I know I'll keep it forever. Thanks, Erin! <3

And for all of those who have served our country, thank you, truly from the bottom of my heart. You are so brave and full of love for people like me that you're willing to give your lives, and I can barely comprehend what kind of character that must take. Thank you, and happy Memorial Day.

Listen. This is a song that some girls danced to today at my sister's recital.

Because I wanted a Bobby Troup action figure, okay? And this is the closest I could manage.

Bobby Troup was a jazz pianist, singer, composer, and actor. If he is remembered at all today, it is usually for his role as Dr. Joe Early on the 1970s television program Emergency! Troup's most popular musical composition was the Nat King Cole hit, (Get your Kicks on) Route 66.

Bobby Troup was married to 1950s torch singer (and Emergency! co-star) Julie London.

This figure is based on a younger Bobby Troup, before his hair turned the eye-catching silvery-grey with which he is often associated.

This is not typically a quiet spot. There is usually a lot of activity going up and down the stairs and on the deck. I had barely 60 seconds to capture this image before there was turmoil surrounding this young man. Sometimes we get lucky...

Hamar Bulljump

The Hamar bulljump is a rite of passage where a young man (around his twenties) has to jump and run over a line of cattle. If he succeeds; he is considered to be a man.

During the night and early in the morning, the female relatives of the boy who has to jump the cattle (named Okuli) start drinking sorghum beer. Some say they do this to get in the right spirit; others say they do this to get a bit numb for what is to come. It is the tradition that the female relatives of the Okuli get whipped by the Maz (men who all recently jumped the cattle) to prove their strenght but also to prove their love and loyalty towards their male relative and family. Also, a woman without scars will most likely not be able to marry. Some people may think that the whipping of women is an act of inhumanity but do not forget that these Hamar women are not forced and ask/demand to get whipped. Pushing, hitting and calling the Maz names if they hesitate. The Maz initially do not want to hit the women. This demands a little bit more explanation about the Maz. After jumping the cattle; the boy will become a man and a Maza. The next couple of weeks/months he will spent with the other Maz; going from one bulljump to the other and not being able to go home to his family. This is actually a second passage rite they have to bring to a good end. At the bulljumps they have to prove to their father and future father-in-law that they can whip woman and gather cattle. This means that he is a “real” man that can take care of his family and his cattle. The whipping is the first part of the ceremony and always takes place on low ground. When this part is done; everybody moves to high ground for the actual bulljumping. First the Okuli will undergo a sacred and secret ceremony where rings will be placed over his penis. In the meanwhile the women surround the cattle, dancing, jumping and blowing horns. This offcourse makes the cattle restless. Then it is the job of the Maz to select and gather the right cattle and put them in line for the bulljump. The Okuli has to jump and run over the line of cattle 4 times before becoming a man. If an attempt is not well executed he will have to start over again untill he has done 4 succesfull runs. If he falls between thet catlle; it is possible he may die. If he survives; he will most likely be whipped himself by his female relatives. If they get whipped for him; he better not fall off.

Before attending a social event, I believe it's imperative to get into a proper frame of mind and a nice sauvignon blanc helps greatly. It was also nice to feel the warmth of a fireplace on a brisk October afternoon at Happy Hour. Cheers to my many sweet friends! ❤

Some of you may know that I've decided to take a break from 4-wides and move up in scale to 6-wides. If you didn't know that, well... now you do, I guess.

Anyway, this Is what I have got with my first project. Chances are you'll know what this is. All it needs now is a front, interior, and maybe a rework after I've got a final result. So far I'm pleased, but I want to fix the back up a little...
