Ironton, Ouray County, Colorado
One of several ghost towns along the Million Dollar Highway (U.S. Route 550), Ironton in 1889 was a key location in the Red Mountain Pass mining district, with 300 buildings and over 1000 inhabitants. But the silver eventually ran out and the last resident passed away in 1963. San Juan National Forest is gradually reclaiming Ironton and now there are only a half dozen structures still standing, none of them very welcoming.
The location is fairly creepy, and this house in particular reminded me of Eddy Murphy's joke about haunted houses in his Delirious comedy routine:
"Oh baby this house is beautiful, I really love this place it's really nice."
["Get out!"]
"Too bad we can't stay baby."
I briefly considered coming back here to do some astrophotography. On second thought, I have reconsidered.

Get yours soon Reese's Egg put some in your Easter basket, before some Bunny eats them all, found in North Carolina.
66782 waits for the path of 60044 out of Tunstead to Lostock Hall before it can enter the limestone works. It was pretty gloomy at this point, but I liked the headlamp reflecting on the exiting wagon sides. Then it was off up the hill to get the light going over Tunstead works.
Fortunately the 60 was crawling from a start so I 'got away' with 1/50 second.
Male Eastern Bluebird getting a drink of the liquid gold that's been non-existent. We did get an inch of rain Wed/Thur but it didn't help our severe drought. The creeks are still dry. My backyard. Central Bucks, PA.
After starting to get a case of cabin fever yesterday afternoon I spend an hour or so in Shobrooke Park, just a minute drive from home. It's a popular park for dog walkers and fishing and I arrived in between snowery showers and sunlight. This was taken at a smaller fishing pond, the bad weather can be seen approaching on the right.

I was trying out my new Canon R7 and it was a bright enough day that I thought I'd try my 800 f/11 lens with it. Wow! It gives me plenty of reach but probably will only work well on sunny days otherwise the ISOs will be higher than I want!
JUST in case folks were wondering where that weird duck came from that I posted yesterday, here is the duck image and if you look a what I posted just the other day you can see where the eagle beak came from. Apologies to anyone who thought it was a real animal, I did post in the Tags that it was photoshopped, among other things like humor, joke... ;)
Taken 2 April 2023 at Spenard Crossing, Anchorage, Alaska.
Was on a little hike without a proper camera and tripod. So took 10 pictures with my phone and stacked them to simulate a long exposure. Seems...OK...
Alarm set due to promise of mist..... ( and not many weekday mornings left until 'H' is back at school:( )
A quick local walk on our own and worth the early start!
Why this squirrel is resorting to tearing off bark when there is plenty of suet, nuts, and seeds available is beyond me! It did not just gnaw at it for dental hygiene... it sat and ate the bark. Probably something like me and chocolate.
Barbara (Barbric) and I went out shooting yesterday morning and this was the first thing we saw. Could not resist. I hope this in some small way starts your Monday in a good way.
Getting drenched at Goðafoss waterfall...
The Goðafoss (Icelandic: waterfall of the gods) is a waterfall in the Bárðardalur district of North-Central Iceland at the ring road, where the Sprengisandur highland road begins. The river Skjálfandafljót falls 12 meters in a half circle over a width of 30 meters.
