I am always surprised at how many people get up before dawn to see the sunrise. For me I think its understandable because I'm taking photos, but a whole bunch of other folks show up at this ungodly hour, park their cars, and walk out on to the pier, takes some of photos and then just turn around and leave. I'm not sure why I find that so interesting, maybe it's just the realization that there are others doing the exact same thing as me. That's hard to believe. I'm not really sure what to make of that, I suppose its a good thing.

With lockdown lasting seemingly for ever and to add to that my recent injury where I fractured my ribs i'm surprised I haven't turned into a cough potato. But despite everything I keep reasonably active even if it's just going for a decent walk each day about half-an-hour. But I need to lose a couple of Kilos as some of my nicest clothes don't fit any more. So my big challenge this summer is to get fit lose some weight and have plenty of yummy sex lol. I well when I feel safe to tug pull and stretch I can start on all that housework and gardening I've been afraid to do.
While at a friend's house this past weekend, I noticed that her sons were outside practicing their snow boarding skills ...on a trampoline! I was completely amazed by this and had to get a shot!

The crossing lights are on and its starting to get dark as 66011 passes Pencoed level crossing whist working 6B04 17:45 Llanwern Exchange Sidings to Margam Terminal Complex.
Its been awhile since I picked up my camera. Things haven't been great personally and its affected my desire to get out and wander around with my camera for a few hours. It did feel good to do it today though.

Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga)
As my friends know, every bird I see I tend to say, "Oooh - that's one of my favorites!" Except when it comes to Anhingas. I don't know why, but they kinda creep me out. But this male is starting to get that beautiful turquoise eye announcing his readiness to mate (and it was a pretty slow photography morning if all truth is told) so I snapped a couple of photos. I believe it's the first Anhinga picture in my photo stream.
On a side note, that is one scientific name I should be able to remember :)
woot! bucket already full and still have 3 hrs and some minutes to go. \o/ seriously though those prizes make it worth it.

The thunder on these was pretty enjoyable. After I moved down to the car I experienced one of those flash-booms, where the bolt is so close to you that the sound reaches your ear while the strike is still happening. I estimate it was about 150 feet away.
