Maggie & Daniela are inventors, STEM advocates and college students studying at Life Pacific College and Stanford University respectively. They are passionate about empowering teenagers to reach the impossible. In high school, as part of an all-girls engineering team, they helped invent a solution to address homelessness in their community and bring dignity to displaced people globally.

I had a wonderful time hiking and snowshoeing with a group of friends from January through December on various sections of the Chequamegon Chapter of the North Country Trail. No matter what the season or daily weather considerations the short hikes revealed the wonderful natural and human history along the way. We are all looking forward to collecting more miles going forward. In my metal sculpture working Dragonfly Studio, we created our own local "100" mile award medallions that were presented to those who finished the 100 miles during the year.

There were hikes ranging from the MRT/NCT loop, the Jordan River Trail loop (many many times!), as well as the UP walking through the Lake Superior SFCG (also my favorite place to camp). Being back in the light of backpacking/hiking has really been a great way to unwind from the ills of the world. There's such beauty across this trail, even when it takes you through small village towns. It's nice to see such a variety of scenery and a great place to call "home".

I've organized trail races on the trail (a 10.5 mile'r), spent 4-5 (multiple times) taking the trail as far north as I could in the allotted time I had, and enjoyed every minute of it! What a beautiful, well maintained trail. Thank you to everyone who helps support the trail, makes it a friendly place to hike, and practiced great trail stewardship!
Living at the top of Wisconsin, I was drawn to the NCT in Upper Michigan where some of the most beautiful and rugged hiking can be found. Thanks to the NCT100 Challenge, I hooked up with hikers from the Houghton area to hike NCT sections in the Trap Hills and Sturgeon River Falls areas. I also joined the Marquette chapter's "Softies" group who has been hiking the entire NCT in the UP from west to east. Through all of this, I have gotten to meet other chapter members as we came together to pursue our hiking goals and share in our love of hiking the NCT. It took me nearly the whole year to complete my "100". And now that it is finished, I feel wonderfully rewarded, both in the completion of the NCT100 and in making new friends.

I participated in the Cross County FLTC series. We hiked Cattaraugus County and ended up at the Pennsylvania State line. We celebrated the accomplishment in Allegany State Park at Camp Turner. The pictures attached are from a hike in November I led with the Foothills Trail Club.
Started the Challenge last winter on snow shoes with a great group of interested Cable/Drummond, Wisconsin, North Country Trail supporters. We hiked and experienced many beautiful new areas along the trail together. Sunday, December 4, again back on fresh snow, completed the 100 mile Challenge...now to begin the next 100 miles. Pictures submitted below. (1) Sepia tone winter scene. A rivulet on it’s way to Mirror Lake on the North Country Trail. (2) See the trail appropriately signed as 100 on the second photo taken at the completion of the 100 miles .
We live in Dayton, Ohio and love to hike the trails in our local parks. The North Country Trail, using the Buckeye Trail corridor, passes through Dayton and very close to our house. We saw a notice for a hike in February to start the challenge and decided to go. It was a cold, snowy day and we missed the group, but did meet another person wanting to hike so we took off on the beginning of our adventure. Over the next eight months we did lots of hiking, but never again on the North Country Trail. Near us, the trail is primarily bike path and city streets - we often bike it, but usually do not hike it. In late October we decide it was time to get serious about completing this challenge. We have hiked out and back loops eleven times without repeating any sections. Our shortest day was 6 miles (the first one we did) and the longest was 11.5. We have enjoyed seeing where the trail goes in our area and there are still miles that we can explore in 2017 without having to drive far.
We hiked many state parks in Minnesota on the North Shore. Only three of our miles were on the NCT in Wisconsin. Since I live in Wisconsin, I really enjoyed seeing the scenery on the North Shore on the SHT and the Willard Munger trail. I am 70 years old and love to hike so this was the perfect challenge for me.

Photo taken on Day 5 of our back along the Wokkpash Lopp route in Stone Mountain and Northern Rocky Mountain Provincial Parks in northern British Columbia. This day we day hiked in the Forlorn Lake area and up to Mt. Saint Magnus viewpoints.
Thank you for the Hike 100 Challenge. Spending time outdoors is something we enjoy but having this challenge got us outdoors even more. We experienced some great hiking along the North Shore of Lake Superior and in the Chequamegon National Forest. The variety of scenery and landscape seemed endless. I love the titanium bushbox from bushcraft essentials. Most the time with an trangia alcohol stove but if u have to have a small fire you are good to go.
