This gate leads into my forest where I have had loads of lovely hikes high up in the mountain, now its newly painted.
It looks quite inviting, doesn't it😁
Sunrise on the Vogelberg (1,204 m) mountains of the Jura, located north of Mümliswil in the Swiss canton of Solothurn. It lies east of the Passwang Pass. The border with the canton of Basel-Landschaft runs north of the mountain.

I'm on a roll here, two posts in two days! This hasn't happened for a long time.
I shot this one just after Christmas 2015 whilst travelling through Alberta. Castle Mountain is a dominating feature along the Bow Valley Parkway, a magical road within itself. I found this spot down on the Bow River and as soon as I saw that patch of ice, I knew I had found my composition.

As the city began to disappear into the rain, I felt my chances of a strike on the city fading as the rain was moving in fast. Only a few clicks away from packing up, this banger of a bolt suddenly sprang down out of the clouds into the Delaware River, thunder echoing almost immediately across the water.
A beautiful day for a 5km hike. We took an offshoot and the trail became more beautiful as we were enclosed by the trees.
