Pictures along the River Nene at Orton Mere, Peterborough

Perennial geraniums are one of the most useful plants in a UK garden. They are evergreen, weed supressing and flower for about 6 - 8 weeks. After flowering give them a hard prune and in 4 weeks or so they'll flower a second time. They are available in pink, red, blue , blue and white and white and vary in height from 20-40 centimetres.

They can be underplanted with the taller spring bulbs such as daffodils or tulips.

Geranium with drops of water, shallow depth of field

Also known as Herb Robert, or Stinky Bob (crush the leafy stuff in your fingers and it releases a sulfurous stench).

About 12mm across.

Hardy geranium variety name long forgotten but I always call it splash.

Geranio selvatico

Wild geranium

Heather from NJ shared this photo with us. She uses Spray-N-Grow's organic gardening products on all her flowers.

Ok, if you all don't like my foliage, then I can give you just the flower.

Actually this is probably another specimen, but same species as the last one.

Geranium viscosissimum is most abundant along the ridgeline of where the native vegetation stands tall and dense. This site lies along the west facing part of the ridgeline, Burke Park, Bozeman, Gallatin County, Montana.

Pour Michèle, voici un géranium sanguinum.

"Geranium 'Gerwat' 2014, ROZANNE Cranesbill, jur-AY-nee-um, 24x18 in Perennial,Z5, Violet blue, S4

ROZANNE is a patented hybrid clump-forming geranium. It is noted for its almost long growing season. I have not trimmed it this year, yet. It's at the edge of my West slope garden. I might be able to run the lawn mower over it."
