Geranium maculatum

This plant has been flowering for several months and I couldn't resist another shot at the delicate, small flowers.

These were one of my grandmother's favorites. She always planted them in front of the house, and we kept up the tradition.

I found this cove along the Blue Ridge crest road that had thousands and thousands of blooming wild geraniums. It was spectacular. Unfortunately for photography, the landscape was horrible dapple and the wind was blowing very hard, a perfectly horrible conditions for photography. I concentrated on a single flower in the sun. One of about a dozen geranium in my garden, this is the longest blooming. It has a nice way of scrambling about that suits my wild style.
