Gwen's garden at the end of summer

I wish I could remember the name of this Geranium. Any idea?

To all the naysayers that told me this was not a geranium...it is so too!

I transplanted this plant from my mother-in-law's house in Manton, Michigan. I thought it was a wild geranium.

I just learned its identity yesterday while touring Sandra Richard's garden. She was my teacher for the Master Gardener course that I took through the Michigan State University Extension.

Its common name is Herb Robert and it is also sometimes called Stinky Bob because of the odor that the leaves give off when crushed. It's an annual and also a bienniel, depending upon when its seeds germinate. I has many interesting uses as an herb. Google it.

So there. I did get 100% on my MG final exam, btw.;)

Along the Raven Rock roadside. I don't know what kind of ant it is.
